This mod looks amazing! I'm working on making a puzzle adventure map with cutscenes, and this mod is perfect for it! Only one problem: I can't seem to get it to work... I followed the guide on the CurseForge page, but it can't find my image (even though it's in the correct folder)
I'm at a loss. I followed the instructions exactly, and all I see when I try to play the cutscene all I get is purple and black rectangles...
You are using a custom launcher and it says your minecraft folder is in your downloads folder thats never good.
You should better use the Default launcher or curse voice booth are supporting multiple instances of the game.

So you're basically saying that this mod doesn't work with MultiMC?

No I am not the problem is that tons of Programms will have acces permission problems if they have files in the Download folder.
Most Mods won't have problems with config stuff because they create just a new one and only get an error when they can't.
But Changing them shouldn't also affect anything else ingame.
I had to learn that the hard way...

What version are you using? cause the previous versions looks for a files under the config folder. I removed that in the last two versions. update to version 0.1.2. Make sure all your images are in the "custom-cutscenes-files" under minecraft root. It looks like your using an older version and reading instructions for the newest version.I changed the structure of the folder system.
PS. its still in testing and things may go though changes, but I believe I will keep the folder structure for the newest versions.

Okay, so I moved the entire MultiMC folder to My Documents, and rebooted Minecraft multiple times, but still, when I try to play my cutscene, I get the purple/black "missing texture" image. I have the image in the same folder as the image/audio files in the demo cutscene (which, btw, works fine).
Could the problem possibly have something to do with the image size? I noticed that all the demo cutscene's images were 320p or less, and mine's 1080p. I just thought the creator made them low-res to make the file size smaller, but could that have something to do with the image not displaying?
EDIT: I just tested this by making a new image that has a much smaller file size. Still nothing. No matter what, it seems the mod can't find my image even when it's in the correct folder. If possible, I want to stick with MultiMC, because it makes it far easier to crate a modpack that I can distribute. Also it works better than the default Minecraft launcher in my opinion.

the reason I ask is because of this line "minecraft\config\CustomCutScenes\assets\StudioLogo.png" <- from your error file. It doesn't find the file. The newest version doesn't use the "minecraft\config\CustomCutScenes/assets" any more you drop your files into "minecraft\custom-cutscenes-files" now. Than make sure you set the config to reload the assets. setting the developers version in config should create the folder for ya. its not finding it cause its not building from the correct folder.
You did download it from the curse website right?
Edit: I found where the error was Thrown, I had hardcoded a "file not found" debug from an old version I forgot to take out.. still says it old folder name.. So that was my fault for thinking it was that it was an old version. It still means its not finding the file. Look in your "custom_cutscene_files.jar" in your mod folder <- use a zip file reader. make sure the file is in there under the assets folder. it will be saved as numbers and _ for makeing sure file names are safe and wont cause errors.
Edit Edit: Link me your files and custom jars to my issue tracker.. I'll take a look at it. GitHub Issue Tracker

Well I feel stupid now... I was looking at the config file and I guess it didn't save last time I made changes to it, because I thought I had set "Reload_Assets_On_Load" to true, but it was false... it's working now. Thanks for your help, anyway... I'll make sure to let you know when I at least have a playable demo of my map.
Okay, so I have one more question: Do I have permission to replace the demo cutscene included with the mod with my own intro for the map I want to make?

of course, I will appreciate that you give credits to the mod any where you can. but the demo is just a demo and can be removed. The assets for the demo file may still be inside the custom jar file, u can check by looking in the jar with a zip file reader. that way it doesn't add too much the the file size. or you can just make sure if you reload the assets in the the config that you delete the old custom file jar. Also it shouldn't matter what you name the custom jar, if you didn't want to keep that name. Though I haven't properly tested that.

Ok, thanks! I'll make sure to credit you for the mod in the end credits cutscene for the map!
I just wanted to show this guy off for making a very cool cutscene. Now it took him a long time cause he did this frame by frame. Hopefully I will get the avi support to work eventually, but until then. you could do this..
Demo video:
Crusher9051 created this demo that shows you can make big scenes with a lot of determination.

Just to let everyone know, I am still developing, between life and holidays things have been too busy to program this. I am also split between too many small projects, and as soon as I get these small projects finished. I will get back to this. Thanks for your patience

I don't want to sound impatient, I know this stuff takes a LOT of work, but may I ask what the status is of AVI support? I'd rather not have still images and I don't want to spend hours adding each frame by hand for my custom map, so before I resign myself to 5 FPS cutscenes and hours of coding, I just thought I'd ask if we can expect AVI support any time soon.

They Avi support is becoming more problematic than first expected. Most things I have found dont support new formats, it seems support for most java and video was ended along time ago.. I have something I am working on. but dont expect it to be anytime soon. I am looking into adding Animated Gif support. found something already in forge code that I should be able to do that for me. I am currently trying to finish up a project for someone. and I will hope to get back to this in a week or two. You don't sound impatient, I just haven't had the time to work on this like I wanted to.

Ok, I can work with Gif support. Just so long as I can still synchronize the sound and rely on the gif to play at the correct FPS, I can definitely work with that. I'm still writing the Campaign Script for my map, and I'm nowhere near done yet, so it'll still be a while before I am ready to begin animation. (To clarify what I meant by synchronized sound: I am aware that I cannot put sound into a Gif. I will be animating and rendering the cutscenes as video files, then saving all the video data as a Gif and exporting the audio separately. Then I'd set up the cutscene code to play the Gif and the sound file simultaneously.)

Well nvm.. I just got video support to work.. now I have to get sound sync to work.. I am super excited now... and I apparently have to fix a crash when the video is finished.... but I fixed the issue with running out of memory.. !
but it doesn't do well with high resolution.. I have tested it at 640x480 and it works good,

just hit 500+ downloads, and 200 in just this month alone. Just want to say thanks to all who have helped with this.
