I am a 1.8 Minecraft enthusiast. If i give any ideas to you for your mod that you like or even if I just came to say I like this mod, that basically means I would like this mod for 1.8.
I have ASD. I will most likely speak in a way that could offend people, that's the way I've always been (socially awkward), however, I do not mean to be offensive to anyone. Tactfulness has never been one of my strong suits. So, if your going to hate me...then don't bother talking to me as you will just waste my time and yours as well.
Despite what you're thinking the age in my profile is the actual true age. I find it amazing how many people think that ten is my actual age.
A problem for me is that I generate large biome worlds and if I land up in say grass plains I get absolutely humungous amounts of everything.
Unfortunately if don't I'm unlikely to see any of your additions and chances are I could play for weeks without doing so.
For me it would be better if things appeared in many biomes but much more rarely, or, even better different biomes would contain some of the objects so finding them all would be a whole game in itself.
Fruit trees I feel should be spread the same as once you find an orchard you have a crazy amount of all fruits and of course in a large biome world an orchard would be a ridiculous size.
I guess you have salt generating at the same rate as redstone,
i'd suggest it should be much rarer or maybe create a salt processing plant that can only work in an ocean biome.
Just some initial thoughts.
Maybe a config file like the one for the Ruins mod would be the answer (if it's even possible)
I was thinking of changing around the generation of stuff, because atm i just do it by using the biome IDs rather than the biome dictionary, which would allow the stuff to spawn in lots of different biomes. The next update will contain some new biomes which will be the only place you can get certain items, and i also think the orchard biome needs to be toned down, i'll probably make it a rare biome like a mushroom biome, and have fruit trees generate with a small chance in other biomes.
And i'll add a config file once i get around to it where spawn rates of everything can be adjusted and such.
Thanks a lot for the feedback

Wow, this is one of only good (I might even say great) 1.8 mods out there right now. Keep up the good work Programmer and "Pixel"-er (Strange that I have never heard of that term before. I assume it means "Person in charge of textures")
You should have seen the first iteration of the fruit trees - fruit from every leaf block. We had so many chests dedicated to fruit and nothing else
Haha, I've been there. The previous mod I used with apple trees gave me more than a stack of apples per tree, and it's no fun when 1 tree lets you eat for a full in-game month. Plus, now I have a reason to make an orchard other than for decoration.

EDIT:
I'm on a superflat world with this mod,
and I set randomTickSpeed to 500 for something.
This is what most of the world looked like.
Oh Wow, i'd never considered that the herbs would go rampant on a superflat world, lol.
you might be happy to know the latest update adds an option to turn off herb spreading if you'd prefer this not to happen ><
Updated the mod with a few fixes and some new config options. Bamboo blocks can also be used in place of planks in the majority of recipes, and added pineapple juice.

Edit:
I hope you like herbal tea.
Haha. You should have seen it after I had to take the time to type that comment, because I now live in a world made of a herbal quilt.
I was wondering, if there could be a deep reef biome, with lava vents and large vibrantly colored coral, with seaweed and anglerfish for new food options. I even have some textures for the giant block-y seaweed, because it would have to reach sunlight. Maybe even some cooked mermaid ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Oh, and btw, Good luck on a whole bush situation. Bushes are important.

Smelting clay will give you a brick which you can use to craft the brick oven.
And the removal of food from the furnace is intentional, but i will add a config with it as an option eventually.
first you need to make a metal rack like so:
then make the oven like this:
I've updated a thread with the majority of the recipes in the mod.
No problemo, and any and all feedback is greatly appreciated.
Thanks again to everyone who has downloaded and to those who have participated in the voting poll at the top. I hope you all enjoy the latest updated.

Despite what you're thinking the age in my profile is the actual true age. I find it amazing how many people think that ten is my actual age.
#Give1.8aChance
I was thinking of changing around the generation of stuff, because atm i just do it by using the biome IDs rather than the biome dictionary, which would allow the stuff to spawn in lots of different biomes. The next update will contain some new biomes which will be the only place you can get certain items, and i also think the orchard biome needs to be toned down, i'll probably make it a rare biome like a mushroom biome, and have fruit trees generate with a small chance in other biomes.
And i'll add a config file once i get around to it where spawn rates of everything can be adjusted and such.
Thanks a lot for the feedback
Just as a sneak preview of the upcoming update, here's a screenshot of some of the new content that the artist and I think is worth sharing.
Wow, this is one of only good (I might even say great) 1.8 mods out there right now. Keep up the good work Programmer and "Pixel"-er (Strange that I have never heard of that term before. I assume it means "Person in charge of textures")
EDIT
Wow, a whole page of comments! =D Good job!
And now for some things that I'm less proud of:
I just took the Minecraft Noob test! Check out what I scored. Think you can beat me?!

I just had to say, I love the balance on the apple trees, enough saplings to plant more than one, and not enough apples to consider it too OP.

Thanks for all the great feedback guys and gals, its appreciated greatly, and thanks for voting as usual.
I hope you all enjoy the latest update and if you find any bugs, or any suggestions, i'd be happy to hear about them.
Oh Wow, i'd never considered that the herbs would go rampant on a superflat world, lol.
you might be happy to know the latest update adds an option to turn off herb spreading if you'd prefer this not to happen ><
Edit:
I hope you like herbal tea.
Updated the mod with a few fixes and some new config options. Bamboo blocks can also be used in place of planks in the majority of recipes, and added pineapple juice.
Thanks for the feedback, we'll see if we can make them look more like bushes if we can.
EDIT:
ooh, and maybe some large sunken ships?
