EcoCraft is a mod about economies, ecologies, and how villagers and animals interact. Villagers will be able to do jobs, marry, have children, age, die, etc. The same rules will apply to the player. Economies in villages can be procedurally generated or built over time by the player/NPCs. Animals can be domesticated and evolve based upon their environment, and so can villager cultures!

Structures
Aqueducts have been added to compensate for source water blocks not being place-able with a normal bucket. They are constructed using sealed cobblestone, sealed stonebrick, or sealed brick, and slowly spread water across their surface.

Realism
All blocks now have chance to drop flint. New ores, ingots, tools, weapons, and armor are added for copper, bronze, and steel alongside copper and tin ores. In addition unrealistic tools (wooden, stone, diamond) are removed. Steel effectively replaces diamond, with improved iron alongside weaker bronze and copper, respectively.
Minecraft vanilla mobs now only spawn below 64 height. Animals will be added as constant threat in the overworld to challenge the player. Wild, tribal and civilized humans will spawn in the world to creating near limitless options for the player. (WIP)

We are making all animals from scratch, however a lot of them are based on old wildcraft models. All will be updated! Right now, we have salmon, cichlid, gazelle, lion, eagle, hummingbird and of course... human We'll be updating the forum soon to include pictures and more content, just haven't had the time.

Our modeler is working on a giraffe right now Our first focus for animals is to add them from the African savannas, and create a fully functioning ecosystem.
As for 1.7.10 backport, that will probably not happen for quite awhile. However if someone joined the team with that as their goal, we would not stop them .

There is no limit on what we could add. However we want to represent every aspect of the ecosystem fairly.

Using both JC and EC will allow the ability to create hybrids using more animals. The genetics of them all tie in together aswell.
