DAMN IT, Aw well. Vector manipulation would definitely be OP if it is not controlled, but it would be crazy fun.
Also, the abilities tend to sap a lot of CP even at level 5 where you should be able to destroy a large bit before dropping down to zero. In my opinion, the CP should increase on a steeper logrithimic scale to make the differences between levels more prominent, like 1000 for level 1, 3000 for level 2, 9000 for level 3, 27000 for level 4 and 81000 for level 5 or something similar.
In the anime, they made a very profound difference between the levels abilities and I don't really see it in this mod, a level 5 should be able to take out a few hundred level 2's but I just don't see that happening here :P.
Another suggestion, How about make the abilities gain resistance to similar ability types, like if you are an electromaster you take less damage from electromaster type attacks cause a level 3 with the lightning spear could easily kill a level 5 when his back is turned.
When this version comes out, since it is overhauling a lot of the past things, would there be any way to convert the things from the old version to the new version? Or would I have to write down all the things I had in my world and spawn the new versions back in.
*EDIT* I was playing with the old version recently. I got to level two as a Teleporter. I had gotten to the maximum level for Threatening Teleport, and the CP cost was only 250, but when I became level two it seemed like it had reset itself to the lowest level of Threatening Teleport. All my work into levelling that skill got reset, so it has become very weak, and it still says it is level 10 (max), so I can't level it up any further to get the better damage and CP cost anymore. I was just mentioning this in hope that it will be fixed in the new version. Thanks! Also, the ores can't be smelted in a Thermal Expansion redstone furnace. Hope that gets fixed too.
Thanks for that! But I'm very sorry that beta and 1.0 can't really be compatible. There are too much redesign going on in the mod and you should possibly play a new save. There are indeed many issues in the beta and we will get rid of them in future releases. Cross-mod support will be gradually added.

We didn't really plan to balance the levels as what the anime says. It would be very unbalanced in gameplay (Newbies must at least stand a chance). As for the CP consumption idea, i quite agree with you, might wanna try this idea out some time.
Ability type interacting is very interesting but also a bit of hard to implement. Maybe we'll think about that in later releases.
There will be vector manipulation, but might be not as THAT powerful as you think. Not everyone can be Accelerator
Looks very neat, surely gonna try it out. And I have a suggestion already. How about a compatibility with Thaumcraft? Like an app to suck aspects from node to recharge all wands/other stuff with Vis?
Cross-mod supporting is nice and I intend to do so, might able to work on it in later releases
I realized that passive vector reflection would be a no go in any mod unless you want OP people, but it isn't as OP as some would think. What if it consumed 500 CP per second, this would make it that a level 5 could use it for 20 seconds before loosing ALL CP which would be disastrous. So this might not be bad, also Vector manipulation is the only skill I would use religiously if it was implemented, ATM teleportation seems the most interesting due to all of the possible uses
Working on it, but might not appear on recent releases
Oh, and I'm guessing that you are not gonna add the Magic side that appears in Toaru Majutsu no Index?
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
"There are two kinds of arrogance. One where you are unequal to the task and one where your dreams are too big. The former is commonplace stupidity... but the latter is a rare species that is difficult to find." -Gilgamesh-
"For everything in heaven and earth, life is sorrow." -Enkidu-
THIS is a mod I wanna get behind! I'm quite a fan of both Railgun and Index, and I just love the aesthetic work you've done. There is a lot of potential in this mod, depending on what direction you wanna take. For example, are you going to explore other Academy City Technologies? Or is it just going to be for Esper Power development? Perhaps this mod could be split into two halves, one half for those who
want only Esper abilities, and another half to focus on the kind of technology Academy City would use?
In terms of technology, I'd like to see those Multi-Active Rescue suits that Telestina's faction uses. Aside from that, and maybe an entity radar similar to the ones used by Hound Dog, I'm drawing blanks on this front.
I have a few ideas for original Esper abilities(complete with cheesy names!), but I think they require a lot of refinement, especially to fit into balance of Minecraft, and also to give SOME incentive to actually increase your Level. These include stuff like Cryokinesis(Ice Manipulation),
When I saw your Data Terminal and fell in love immediately. I don't recall them being in the anime much, if at all, so I'm assuming it's something quite unique and exciting this mod has to offer. I have a few ideas for apps that could be found in the Data Terminal, since right now it looks somewhat barren.
A mail/IM client that can send data between other players' data pads(I know it would be redundant since we have chat, but it just feels cool). Also confidential to anyone except Server Admins
An radar that scans for nearby entities as well as provides you with coordinates(that can be copied to the clipboard at the touch of a button), compass information, local lighting status, and your current biome.
A player status window, if you haven't implemented one already(I bet you already did, you wily dog)
If Custom NPCs is detected, a quest log and faction standing indicator, as well as support for that mod's mail system.
A memo pad because I forgot.(Perhaps if I had the chance to write it down...)
Voltmeters for measuring power outputs of various energy mods
Block Analyzer. For those who don't have WAILA, identifies the name, ID:damagevalue, and source mod of the block the player is facing at the moment this app is run.
App Store - Unlock new apps using gold nuggets and/or emeralds from your inventory. Thank you. Your order will arrive in 10-12 Minecraft Business Weeks.
MISAKA Network - Request support from the Misaka Clones(just throwing the idea out there that'd be fun)
Fruit Ninja.
Mindle - The text contents of any books you pick up while this app is installed is automatically copied and saved here. You can access this list and delete any you find.
Recipe book - Access a list of crafting recipes. Simply specify the items you wish to use, and it will narrow down your search.
In all seriousness though, a player's memos, Mail, IM logs, and purchased apps would be stored on a file on the world save so even if the player dies or loses the pad, he/she doesn't lose those apps and memos.
Heyo, just thought I'd ask: how closely are you planning on sticking to canon? So far the abilities you've added are all from the anime, but are you planning on limiting yourself in that way? Do you ever plan to add abilities not seen or only briefly seen in canon?
Heyo, me again. I'm not keen on developing an add on for Academy Craft, since the upcoming update will probably break it, but I have thought of another way I can help out.
Need me to develop a wiki? I feel I've got a good enough grasp on the mods mechanics that I could do so if you wanted me to.

I would also contribute, I mastered the mechanics of all of the attacks and understand all of the blocks functions, except meltdowner since it doesn't even work for me
I'm enjoying the websites new look! From the looks of the pictures there, you've at least gotten most of the blocks and the energy system developed, which means that hopefully the full release shouldn't be too far off. Hopefully
New website is looking good. The windmills, I love them. I really have wanted a good mod that has windmills, but haven't found one I like. They all are either an old looking windmill, or a small block. The only ones that look good were in mekanism, but I had issues with that one.
Where can I find a progress tracker for this mod, the one on the website is empty. Also meltdowner ability doesn't work for me at all, I am using recommended forge and only this mod+lambdalib but it still doesn't work
Hey everyone! Sorry for not updating this post for a long time! I
have been working on the 1.0 version's developement and barely have any
time. One good news: The mod is already at ALPHA STAGE!! All the
contents are finished and we are working on debugging. Also I'm
preparing for a perrelease video of ACMod. Keep tracking!
B.T.W. The website is rewritten but not yet fully completed. We will fill the stuffs up in a few days >) Keep patient!

Whoa, that's lots of suggestion! I'm glad you like the idea of data terminal but there are a few points I want to clarify:
* Data Terminal is mainly used for supporting mechanisms in the mod. (Which need a GUI but isn't that important to developement a independent sys. for it)
* The mod's main focus is super ability.
So you get the idea. Things like Skill Tree, Freq Transmitter(which is used for connecting wireless machines), custom settings and stuffs are likely to appear in the Terminal. But a chat system that is irrelevant of the mod's core mechanism is probably not gonna be developed. This will take too much work and with not-that-great payback on gameplay.
Anyways, ACMod is open-source and I think its API is flexible enough to let anyone to add a custom App into the Terminal, with few lines of code. (If anyone will :I)
