Hello everyone, welcome to the world of AcademyCraft!
AcademyCraft is a Minecraft mod about SUPER ABILITY, including its learning, upgrading and acquiring.
The mod's inspiration comes initially from the anime To Aru Kagaku no Railgun(とある科学の超電磁砲), which takes place in a futuristic Academy City, and students in there learn and use superabilities.
The core idea of AcademyCraft is simple: Use ability, evolve through using it, and feel cool being an ESPer.
In AcademyCraft you will craft a series of high-tech equipment & blocks, supported by the mod's unique energy type Imag Flux , and use them to support your ability development. You will have to use and upgrade your Ability Developer, learn categories and skills, and practice your skills to become a stronger ESPer.
This part is completely out of date so I will leave this area empty and come back to fill it when I have time. Actually, go and play prerelease version and you'll know everything! >) Some pics should do:
We aren't actually recruiting new developers for various reasons. But if you feel like being helpful, let me know and I'll see what I can do. If you have interest in translating AcademyCraft into your native language, you are most welcomed.
We would love to know if you have any idea or suggestion about the project! Any kind of disscusson is welcomed.
Finally... The formatting in the editor is highly inconsistent with the real post and I think this is best I can do...qwq
BTW, is there anyone who want to program their own super abilities? If so we might do some work to enable other mods to add custom Ability Categories into it

A bit of digging revealed the new powerset. Damn, I was really hoping for this one actually, and I was considering trying to do it myself. But yeah, may I suggest you add an ability that lets them power a furnace, kind of like item charging?

Ah, just saw this. I'm extremely interested, but unfortunately most of my java experience doesn't really extend past CLI's, and I'm rather busy, so teaching myself how to do so is taking a while XD

I have been watching the other thread, and just found this one. Is the update that adds RF, the fourth class, and some of these newer machines not out yet? I can only find the version I have been playing with on the website. If it is still in progress I don't mind waiting, I loved the anime Railgun and this mod is awesome from what I have played in the beta releases.

Sorry but we still need some time to work on the 1.0 version. There are lots new system and elements introduced which need to be better polished before it can be released. Anyways I'm glad you like the mod! > <
When this version comes out, since it is overhauling a lot of the past things, would there be any way to convert the things from the old version to the new version? Or would I have to write down all the things I had in my world and spawn the new versions back in.
*EDIT* I was playing with the old version recently. I got to level two as a Teleporter. I had gotten to the maximum level for Threatening Teleport, and the CP cost was only 250, but when I became level two it seemed like it had reset itself to the lowest level of Threatening Teleport. All my work into levelling that skill got reset, so it has become very weak, and it still says it is level 10 (max), so I can't level it up any further to get the better damage and CP cost anymore. I was just mentioning this in hope that it will be fixed in the new version. Thanks! Also, the ores can't be smelted in a Thermal Expansion redstone furnace. Hope that gets fixed too.

Computational Partitioning:
Certain abilities can be locked to a certain amount of your computational power. This makes that partition passively use that ability. The amount of computational points partition scales to affect how powerful the passive ability is. Here are some ideas for passive abilities:
Teleporter: You would passively teleport items to the tops of blocks close to you, never lose your precious things to lava again. Because your body is passively doing this, there is a 50% chance (Scales up and down based on CP locked to the ability, 50 is just the baseline) that arrows or other projectiles coming towards you will have their course changed to miss you. There is a very small (5-10%?) chance that these will instead be reflected back at the enemy.
Electromaster: This passive ability would make your body radiate powerful electromagnetic waves. Metal items would be drawn towards you, like a magnet. (Good for mining ore), and any thing that attacks you would get an electric shock, similar to the Thorns enchantment (The enchantment level scales with locked CP)
Just a small idea that would add some more interesting aspects. The main reason I though of this was because it would be difficult to have accelerators shield be something you have to use, similar to the light shield, which drains quite a lot of CP, leaving you nearly defenceless when you are out, since you can attack back with your power.

Looks very neat, surely gonna try it out. And I have a suggestion already. How about a compatibility with Thaumcraft? Like an app to suck aspects from node to recharge all wands/other stuff with Vis?

Perhaps you ought to remove the "Api" tag as it doesn't really fit. Excellent looking mod, I'll have to check it out sometime!

From the small hints I have seen on this thread, I think it might be something do with heat manipulation.
