Yeah... I miss them too! Would be awesome to see them returning to Minefantasy II with new models, and new animations, also the new dragon model is awesome, I felt like playin Skyrim on Minecraft!
Also I miss the old system of Minefantasy, I'm not used to this one is quite confusing... But is still a good mod, I want more updates!
The Drakes were my favorite mob in minefantasy, I purposely avoided spoilers when starting mine fantasy, wasn't possible most of the time, but staying ignorant about mobs was easy.
My first encounter, I barely realised it was there, the camouflage skin actually worked on me. My later encounters I met the little ones, where I then looked them up on the wiki. Love Drakes. love the AI, I didn't figure it out until I started to hunt them more, I love the biome negation, I really avoided walking straight through plains, only traveled through on horseback. I never quite understood the more nesting part of the AI, but I loved the concept, and dreamed of wanting more out of the mob, like taming, cuddling, riding, tracking, and more useful applications from their loot drops. I also at the time gave up on protecting plains villages, THEY ATE THE SMITH.
PLease, when you begin to work on drakes again, throw in some secrets for me to discover about them, I spent so much time trying to breed them to no avail in MF1

Taming was going to be possible with them, they were going to lay eggs, having to kill the territorial parent of course.
Having some lore behind the mobs are good, I stick to quality over quantity, I may also add some more info in the books about their lore.
Right now i'm changing minotaurs a bit, so they don't eviscerate newbies so easily, theyll run off a rage system so if one gets pissed off then its good to keep away.
So since drakes are popularly known as young dragons, i have decided to give it wing stumps (AKA, wings that are still growing, just the arms and such)
if you want i can even make a wyvern, lindworm, or something more realistic, like a deer. i have suggested animal skulls to hang on a plaque for decorating your home, and i thought a dragon skull, drake skull, and a deer skull would be an interesting thing to use
Nah drakes are entirely different creatures to dragons. Their sort of mini dinosaur-y things. I'd suppose their (in my lore) more like a wind animal than most other mobs, they tend to be territorial and such and nothing much else. the scaley-bipedal lizard worked rather well.
Well colour-wise armour can only have one layer coloured, meaning if its used to make metal armours, it will not work very well. (still could just wont look different)
Dragons & Drakes to me was like steel and bronze, on the creature scale I felt they filled the gap for players transitioning from the early game experience to the later game. Even though their loot drops didn't impact the player's progress very much, they still provided similar roles that dragons had, but on a lower level. They reigned the grasslands, so you had to come prepared and weary, much like Dragons controlled mountain ranges. Therefore I think it's important to give them a close but separate identity lore wise.
Size is always a problem, even now with elder dragons, they do act funny when moving about because of their size, and you can hide from them pretty easy where they can't reach.
However Basillisks could use a new model eventually, Be good to keep them as 8-legged lizards, only maybe with rougher scales and a more stoney like look to them (sort of more crocodile-like skin-wise). I might change their gaze too and have it something they attack with over intervals rather than constant.
Why is it that all the best updates come out when I'm too busy to play minecraft... Anyways, love the "new" (to me) version! Cogworks is awesome, and I see my Auto-crucible idea made the cut.
On the drake matter, I noticed your drakes were very Dungeons and Dragons in style. The original MF1 model looked a lot like the illustration from the 4th edition DnD Monster Manual... Coincidence, or no?
How do we make Any timber armor?
Sure, see Item_Registry.cfg
i've been able to register weapons, but not armour.
Basilisks, Drakes and Skeleton Knights I miss
New dragon is cool though.

I was rooting around for some more mods, and I came across a decent looking competitor to MineFantasy, called Quest. Team of personally connected developers, striving for a high quality RPG mod, I hope this link works: http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/mapping-and-modding/minecraft-mods/wip-mods/1445112-quest-high-end-rpg-update-news-content-and-other
They have been around, not as long as the first MineFantasy, but they have been in the race against you.
They died off in the early of last year.
I am so happy and grateful that MineFantasy and it's predecessors are still receiving attention, being an active mod to this day. Thank You

You did such a great job with the dragons, best i've seen from mods yet.
I don't know if I'm missing something, but as far as I know, there's no tier 2 spanner???
MineFantasy2 ~ GrowthCraft ~ Electrical Age ~ Lively Animals ~ Dark Roleplay ~ Wild Cryptids & Conspiracies ~ Groundwork

Yeh go ahead
Obsidian spanner
I deleted to config to see if it does anything, but the obsidian spanner is still tier 1, both from the creative menu and the one I crafted

Ah right, the recipe is supposed to say tier 1 (tiers count the 0)
ah, thanks

Probably without the wings and have the torso at a higher angle, try not make them look like dragons as they are entirely different creatures.
I like the direction AP suggests for Drakes.

Maybe large ground dragons/beasts would be nice to have. I don't know about their practicality, but they'd be fun for multiplayer.
Maybe something like fell wyrms from ff12; they'll turn aggressive once you hit them.
For a nether version, they could resemble the usual ff behemoth, but for this type, they'll attack immediately on sight.
They should spawn on large clearings such as plains or deserts.
And I guess they could give a bigger heart which you could split into normal hearts, and more loot.

Yeh I get a few things from there, not sure what edition though.
