I'd say its pretty self explanatory, it adds a new banner that allows you to change the texture as opposed to creating a pre-determined pattern with a vanilla mc banner.
Functionality:
-To change textures, simply use an anvil to change the name of the banner to the name of the .png file of the texture you want
-Textures must be placed in the "Better Banners Textures" folder in .minecraft
-Can only use one texture for a banner on a world (will add support for multiple textures if I update this mod)
-Does NOT work on servers, yet
Recipe:
Texture Map:
Texture names ARE case sensitive, these pictures were taken at different times.....
Installation:
1. Install forge
2. Go to the link at the top to download this mod
3. Unzip the file
4. Put the .jar file in the "mods" folder in ".minecraft"
5. Drag and drop the "Better Banners Textures" folder into the ".minecraft folder"
6. Have fun
Todo List:
-May or may not update this mod
-Fix any bugs
-Add the ability to use different textures on each banner
-Add better stuff that might make this more interesting
-Maybe replace vanilla banners entirely
-Add sever support
-Setting textures using urls/websites
If you have any problems or suggestions, feel free to post them
If I helped you in any way or agree in my ideas or posts, make sure you click that green arrow pointing up below my post or simply huggle me! I use 1.7.10 (Modded), so when I comment that I like a 1.8 mod, I will comment to downgrade to 1.7.10. I support no pics, no clicks. Suggestions that I think that are the best deserves a banner!
It is almost time to say goodbye to 1.7.10 because of the recent surge of big 1.9 mods.
Why MCreator sucks: jcm2606's file (doesn't open a new tab) He allows/welcomes anyone to link the file, so I put it here in my signature for people to know how MCreator functions. I thank jcm2606 (he's awesome) for creating the document/file and I'm just here to spread the word.
Not sure if you're open to suggestions or not, but if you are I have one for you. Banners can be a great way to make curtains without wasting a painting spot or for those that don't use the Conquest pack, but the problem with the vanilla banners is they aren't long or wide enough. What about adding banners that are 3 high and are 1 full block in width. This way when banners are hung on the wall where there is a 2x2 window you can have them placed on the next block above so you don't get the wooden post showing and they'll still be long enough to reach the floor, perhaps even adding a 1x1 block sized banner for longer windows if you want it to look like the curtains are open. Obviously this is just one use for these, but I'm sure people would come up with plenty more uses that would make it worth adding these.
I would love to see server support for this mod but it would take a lot of code to make it work if the client doesn't have it installed. (bukkit) however, it may be possible to do in bukkit.
My first mod
So what does this mod do?

I would like to see a "Capture the Flag" turned into "Capture the Banner" on a server plugin. Could it happen?
I've Gottabadfeeling about this. --Star Wars
That wouldn't be too hard, I'd have to work stuff out with server owners though.

Perhaps instead of simply loading a texture from a folder, perhaps you can use a URL to an image and have the banner use that?
Sounds like a good idea, won't take long to figure out

Hello there,
I would love to see server support for this mod but it would take a lot of code to make it work if the client doesn't have it installed. (bukkit) however, it may be possible to do in bukkit.
Good luck on the forge server support.
