I can look into that. I've been a bit annoyed by the current signal block setup, so I might go and overhaul the system while adding regulator functionality. But yes, you should be using the reverser to control the speed and the throttle to control the max speed.

What is discord chat? I might be a modder and active poster here, but I know next to nothing about chat systems.

Discord is a text/voice chat app designed specifically for gaming. Takes much less RAM than Skype and such. You'd have to make an account and either use the online app or install it. Then, using the join link join the Rails of War server. The server link is on Naiten's Twitter.
Also Don, there's this new thing called Google you should try it out XD
I venture to offer you a recipe for Signal block (Other blocks can be obtained by placing previous block and taking from crafting window).
You can choose the right amount of Signal block in recipe.
I use RailsOfWar-1.7.10-5.8-RC4.jar What version of this mod should I use? I think ROWAM-1.7.10-8.0.0.jar but I'm not sure
ROWAM hasn't been fixed to match RC4's new regulator system. You can use the latest version, but it won't really do much in the way of stopping/starting your trains. It'll stop em… and then you gotta start em yourself.

Can't you just leave the regulator open and cut off the reverser? The train won't move if the reverser is centered.
Haven't we already discussed this? You kinda said yourself that it wasn't working properly *because* of the regulator.
Not properly, but still passable. The physics/regulator update threw a few of the controls out of whack. While it's preferable to stop the train with the regulator, the reverser can still be used. Also, the new physics system makes the trains roll longer, so all previous block placements will be wrong. Basically you'll need to run trains with full regulators if you're using RoWAM.

I'm having trouble with filling tank cars. Whenever I put a BuildCraft Tank on top of a loading block, then put a tank car near it, the game crashes with this: EDIT: It only happens when I put a liquid in the tank and set it to load, it doesnt seem to matter which type of liquid I try to put in.

PEOPLE USE THE ****ING SPOILER FUNCTION. If you can't find that very obvious [!] to place your long space-wasting crash report, at LEAST use pastebin or something. C'mon guys!
Ok, my bad. I'm new here, and all I need to happen is to be able to fill tank cars without my game crashing. Some help would be appreciated rather than a rant about the use of the spoiler function.
I need to get RoWAM updated to work properly with the RC releases that are just coming out. I think Naiten might have removed a variable in the stock which is causing problems.
Due to the switching of RoW from Java 7 to Java 8 I am no longer able to build versions of RoWAM. The computer I code on is an old Linux laptop that only goes up to OpenJDK 7, which makes updating to 8 a hassle that I don't want to do right now. RoWAM is open-source, however, so if someone wants to take up the torch that would be fine with me. It's not that complicated of a mod. I'm a bit tired of supporting it anyways, so I think this is a fitting time to stop.

And not as glitchy and gross as Teamspeak! [i hate teamspeak so much]
@Don the other thing I forgot to mention, is the freight block going to support sub-id items?
Currently, it defaults to 'primary' item #, so if you have an item with the # 1303:13 it is changed to 1303

I have the latest version of ROW, the one with the regulators, and I can't seem to figure out how to use the station block.
Did you check Chapter: Station Block, Section: 2, Item: 1? Cause I'm willing to bet you're forgetting to set the throttle to 0.
Guys how do you like the railway?
Are you use ROWAM?
Otherwise so-soWas there ever any crafting recipes set up for this?
