TechStack's Heavy Machinery Mod - WIP -
Poll: What type of Machines should this mod add?
Ended Dec 3, 2015
Poll: Release early & Often... Or wait until its feature complete?
Ended Feb 28, 2015
I have got further information about how this aluminum extractor works. According to the website, it uses hydrofluoric acid. The remaining material after is electrolyzed to produce aluminum.
I found a cool block idea: bentonite clay. Bentonite is a clay which swells up when wet. Ranches and municipalities use bentonite to line leaky ponds and some contractors mix bentonite with water to make a slurry for tunnel boring. To keep the ground in front of the tunnel boring machine from caving in, they pump the pressurized slurry up front which holds the rock back. If this mod will have a tunnel boring machine, then bentonite should exist so when players are tunnelling in sand or under the sea, they won`t cause a sinkhole above.

How do you destroy the machines once you place them down?

Another few machine ideas:
. Man lift: lets players work up high
. Directional drill: burrows a 1 by 1 tunnel under ground and places pipe or redstone if in the machines inventory so no digging has to be done on the surface.
. I am not sure if this mod is going to have licensed machines but I have 1 idea with 1.
. There is a Swedish backhoe company called Huddig. They make articulated backhoe loaders. 1 application that is popular for Huddig is cable plowing.
. Cable plowing works by using a small plow to cut a trench and then a cable or pipe is rolled into the trench by a roller on the plow. So the rear backhoe boom has the cable plow and on the front loader, a cable winder is attached.
also the Huddig can be used on a rail road.
attachments:
. Cable plow and cable winder
. railroad wheels
. grab john bucket,(made by oil quick)
. bucket for backhoe or loader.
Go to huddig.se for more details and Oil quick.com for info on grab john buckets, I am sure they would be thrilled to give you some ideas and models. Thanks for reading!

For this mod, I was thinking about a few more machines.
A soil compactor would pack loose material into a compacted variation. Blasted stone would make compacted gravel for example. This would make the material lose any gravity properties.
A plainer would chew up asphalt and deposit it out a conveyor belt for dump trucks. This would leave the base course or material under the road exposed.
A concrete paver would be used to make curbs or medians. It would use concrete that has blasted stone properties and has 3 components: gravel or blasted stone, water, and cement.
A cement truck is a must if concrete is in the mod. It pours concrete if control is pressed.
For forestry in this mod, there should be some more equipment.
. Feller buncher
. Skid steer with brush cutter
. Log trailer with crane for tractor
. Wood chipper trailer with crane for tractor
. Grapple attachment for loader
. Saw milling machine to cut and refine wood
. Material handling excavator with log grapple.
I support heavy equipment 100 percent. When life gives you lemons, make floor cleaner and use artificial flavours to make lemonade.

1 machine:
. Mobile rough terrain crane: a 4 wheeled machine that has controls like the excavator. Space to unload and control to attach. It would spin 360 degrees, have a telescopic boom and would drive like other machines in this mod.
. I also have some machines for the futuristic part of the mod. John Pope from Pope design, makes 3d models of futuristic construction equipment.
His machines include:
. Mobile wind turbine truck to generate electricity
. Marauder ant dozer to clear paths for fire brigades in a forest fire
. Quad tracked tree harvester with internal wood chipper for removing dead, fire hazard trees
. Combine train with several grain tanks and augers
. Bulldozer that has the main bulldozer with a tracked bulldozer,( with no blade or cab), hinged to the back. The rear bulldozer has an engine for extra torque
. Linear motor drive walking crane to work on very steep terrain. You can contact him at Pope Design.net.

Soooooo, I was thinking of machines today and I got a few more:
. 1 machine that could be cool is a vacuum excavator. Just a truck with a tank and a vacuum arm. It could be used to mine for clay or suck up solid waste.
. Line painter would be awesome
. Maybe a pile driver to build supports for bridges or to make docks.
Now, for farming in this mod:
. Self propelled potato harvester to collect potatoes
. Carrot harvester for tractors
. Larger self propelled crop sprayer to spray more soil
. Bale wrapper to keep hay bales from water washing the nutrients out
. Baler to make un-wrapped hay bales
. Corn cutter head for combine
. Grain trailer for tractor or truck to haul harvested crops
. Windrower to move mowed grass into straight lines
. Silage bucket for skid steer.
I support heavy equipment 100 percent. When life gives you lemons, make floor cleaner and use artificial flavours to make lemonade.

After thinking about it for awhile I've recently decided to take a break from the mod for a bit. Some other projects have caught my eye and I'll be spending my time on those for awhile & posting youtube videos about them to see where it goes.
I'm not gone for every but just taking a break.... especially with 1.9 around the corner it seems like the current state of modded minecraft is in flux with some mods going to 1.8.9 & others saying they will just wait till 1.9.
I'll post here & on youtube when I pick this up again !
Cheers!

Yeah , I may create a few repos as I try things out. I got some awesome assets today that I had to pay for so I can't put all of that project on github but I map put the bits I make on it... I need to see where it goes.

I don't see any problems with a break. Besides, this mod has a lot of amazing machines in it. Can't wait to see what other projects your working on!

Just thought i'd mention this because it seemed kind of crazy to me, but there is already a version of forge out for 1.9

That's handy to know so I can get the mod when I update to 1.9. I am going to get a new mojang account because my old one is hacked.

Hi,
I just am putting this out there as a possible idea for the mod once you get back to working on the mod.
There is this cool method out there called cold recycling.
it works by having a machine called a cold recycler with a cutter head, mill away at the old road while mixing in the soil and dispensing water and cement.
it would make a great addition to the mod for possible road resurfacing practices.

Not abandon. Just taking a break.

=(
everyone is waiting[/pre]I would love to try and get you a more Minecraft-y texture for the machines. It does require me to have a texture mapping so I know what place it pulls what texture from.

What I mean was I need exact texture mapping as in a detailed image with all the boxes that show where what side's texture come from.
For example. A player:
