TechStack's Heavy Machinery Mod - WIP -
Poll: What type of Machines should this mod add?
Ended Dec 3, 2015
Poll: Release early & Often... Or wait until its feature complete?
Ended Feb 28, 2015
At this stage most bugs squashed to where its playable. I was asking for the vote more because I wanted to know if people wanted to start testing before all the features are added.
I'm actually a little surprised by the results so far I thought most players would want a test build to start playing with before long.
I have a long list of features i'd like to add over time and it will take awhile to cross them all of the list.

I voted to wait because I didn't know how many bugs there were. Also I've been messing around with the mod anyway because you showed the link to where it's being hosted in your 10 hour stream (;

LOL if someone wants to watch the whole 10 hr stream then I guess they can use it.
FYI that site will automatically build the latest code every time I make a commit to github so check it often if you want the latest version.
I just added an asphalt block today & I'l be working on adding the paver that will create them / place them soon.

Cool, also I noticed that the flatbed can hold a lot of vehicles but only renders the first two, do you have any more plans for it. Maybe like adding attachments to have it show more than two or keeping it down to only two vehicles to make it more realistic?

not Ignoring.. I thought if you wanted to help you would... Didn't know you were waiting for a response. I've had lots of people tell me they "May" help with textures but so far no one has tried except for Chazman.

Made a tractor and some of the attachments - plow etc. Could not for the life of me figure out how to attach them. I see from the video that there should be an inventory, but can't figure out how to make it come up.
Hi right click on the tractor to ride in it the push e or your inventory key and then put the attachment in the first slot on the left.

your corn plants, they don't work with other automated farming systems like the one from Aroma1997's betterchests and Vanhal's Progressive Automation AutoFarmer. Is that by design? can it be changed?
Hi Kreezxil,
No that is not by design, I my corn implements IPlantable so as long as the mod looks a the item and recoginzies IPlantable as something it can plant then it should work.
That is how i designed my Tractor's planter attachment It looks to see if its an IPLantable item and if it is it will attempt to plant it.
I took a quick peek at Vahal's source because its open on github and I see he has a registration process he is using in his code's ModHelper classmaybe he needs to include mine also? But i did not dig deep into his code.
PS glad you were finally able to get the bulldozer built on your let's play
@zoomturd & @vincentmet :
Yeah its a pain to do texture work... thus the current state of my textures.
Update on the current state of progress:
Well not much to say other than I've been busy with work & moving my private server to new hardware so I haven't had time to work on the mod...
Hopefully i'll have time to work no this more soon but no promises because we are tying to sell our house & move soon so that will likiely consume my free time for awhile.

Thanks for the response and update on your state of affairs with the mod.
I too am interested in helping texturing your mod. However I can't help but wonder if there isn't an easier way to do that than an actually loading your models. I would suspect you would need several files that represent the various materials. That way if we had the various file names as you might require them and the minimum bit depth and dimensions of each we could really speed this up for you.
assuming that I might be right I'd say we might we might be looking at 16 & 32 bit each with a minimum dimension of 32 x 32. Possible file names might also be: Green metal skin.png, black metal skin.png, chrome skin.png, yellow metal skin.png, tread skin.png, ... Etc.
if I am right about that let it's know so that you might expect a loaf textures lickety split. This way we wouldn't have to learn your modeler of choice.
Kreezxil,
Sorry its not that easy, the textures need to be applied to the 3d models as one texture. The 3d models need to be UV unwrapped for use in the textures. The UV unwrapping I've done so far is very basic to get a working example out with basic colored textuers only but they are in 1 png file that is then applied to the given machine.

is blender the modeling software you recommend?
