Are there going to be boss dragons that are going to be added into the mod?
If so,about how large are they going to be?
Well, the Ender Dragon is about as boss a dragon as there is
Other than that, I don't think we have plans for that. Now we do plan eventually to have full PVP support (not tested at this point), so the biggest boss dragon will be another player as a dragon

Draco Animus requires forge, somewhere near this version: 1.7.10-10.13.2.1291
You have forge-10.13.3.1408.
Also, at some point, 1.7.10 went from not working with 1.8 Java, to working, I think at a later version then you have installed. You have: Java Version: 1.8.0_25,
So I recommend you install the version of Forge I list above, or a newer version of forge 1.7.10 and then see if you get a crash.
I saw the storyline, and I wanted to try out my own storyline:
Long ago, dragons dominated the Earth. Giant reptiles that soared in the bluest skies and delve in the darkest oceans. Man appeared, and they first feared the dragons, but eventually the two races coexisted in harmony, and the humans and dragons were at peace. All but one...
The Ender Dragon. Not all agreed that dragons should be so merciful to humans. They saw the humans as tools, that should be used cruelly to forge monuments to their masters. Those dragons sided with the Ender Dragon, and air became ripe with tension. Albeit to what his brethren believed, the Ender Dragon saw the humans as a weapon. A weapon to be used to destroy the elder dragons, a group consisting of some of the oldest and wisest dragons. Some dragons began to slaughter humans, burning them to ash, sinking their ships, enslaving them. Tension became high, and war broke out. Many dragons died in fiery battles, but the human death toll was far greater.
The Ender Dragon and his comrades fought a losing battle. Eventually, the Endermen were born. Twisted souls of fallen humans forged by the Ender Dragon to defeat the Elder Dragons.
His efforts were in vain. The Endermen failed, as they had one flaw: a weakness to water. Water was known for cleansing, and the water damaged their dark, twisted souls. The Ender Dragon was pinned on an island, his army surrounded by the serpents of the depths of the ocean.
The Ender Dragon was the last to fall. He was not killed, but was captured, along with his minions. As his punishment, he and the Endermen were banished to the End(Nicknamed so because it was the End to all evil on the overworld): The purgatory created for him specifically by the Elder Dragons. He was forced in and sealed off, never able to reach the Overworld. There, he and his minions will suffer unending torment in a even more unending plane of emptiness...
The damage the Ender Dragon had done to the human population had a permanent effect: The human race was on the brink of extinction. The elder dragons, among the last few dragons that existed after the war, sacrificed their energy so that humanity may prosper: and they did. Humans were resurrected, but were never the same.
The elder dragons gave their lives seeing that humans would one day prosper and care for the Earth better than dragons ever could.
Fallen dragons that followed the Ender Dragon, even in death, still have the will to fight for their beliefs, and sometimes rise from the dead.
It is unknown whether other dragons may have survived. There have been claims that serpents can be seen below the depths of the ocean, still watching over humanity... or survivors of the the Ender Dragons cult...
As for the Ender Dragon, he is defeated. However... one day, he will surface again... but humanity will be ready to fight him... whatever it takes...
There is ONE problem with this. The Ender Dragon is female. In this, you describe her as male.

Other than that, this seems very nice.
I don't know how to copy and paste a quote, but here is what notch said about mob genders
Quote from Notch »
All the mobs in the game are genderless and usually exhibit the most prominent traits of both genders. Cows have horns and udders (even if I’ve later learned that there are some cows where the females do have horns), and the chicken/duck/whatevers have heads that look like roosters, but still lay eggs. For breeding, any animal can breed with any other animal of the same species.
Oh, never thought of that. I do see one other problem for using this story with Draco Animus, is that when you go to the end as a dragon (the easiest way to do it by far), you kill the Ender Dragon, and the Ender Dragon is not your friend
If we change the back story (I had nothing to do with the current one), I think it would include something about why as a human you turn into a dragon. Why you would want to find all of the different types of dragon eggs and use them all to turn into all of the different dragon types.
So as a little teaser for the next release, if you don't know, you can now guess that we will have more dragon types you can become. I estimate around 8 different types. Each will have unique abilities that give them advantages (and disadvantages).
Since they are all different, you will be motivated to find each of them and try them out (unless you just like to cheat and use creative mode, then you can get the eggs and don't have to find them.)
BTW, you can always become a beta tester (PM me for details), and you can try out some of the new dragons right now

But I thought the ender dragon was an exception and I know she has an name, Gene. Is that not a feminine name?
This mod is really great, I like the village additions and it offers an entire new storyline where you have to defend yourself against the guards.
However, I would really like if you could opt to start as a human and at some point in the game, for example after killing the ender dragon to have the opportunity to become a dragon yourself. Because at the moment the game is pretty void of tension if you kill the ender dragon and have diamond armour etc. This would add a new dimension to that.
At present there is an option to start as human in the configs, but it does not seem to be working. Is this planned in the update? It would be much, much appreciated by me (and by others as well according to the poll).....
Keep up the good work!
Ciao, S,
Yes, the next release that is planned for less than a month away, does let you start as a human (the default), but you can still configure the mod to start as the Silver Dragon.
We wouldn't want to make anyone wait until after killing the Ender Dragon before they can become a dragon though (I think that is what you were suggesting), as the mod is all about being a dragon. Of course it is also about ravaging and destroying villages and the villagers too
if ound a glitch when ever you change form in the air you keep flying (it says your human and you look in f5 your human) and when you touch the ground you die.
if ound a glitch when ever you change form in the air you keep flying (it says your human and you look in f5 your human) and when you touch the ground you die.
One idea is to not allow changing from dragon to human unless the dragon is on the ground, not flying.
Well, the Ender Dragon is about as boss a dragon as there is

Draco Animus requires forge, somewhere near this version: 1.7.10-10.13.2.1291
You have forge-10.13.3.1408.
Also, at some point, 1.7.10 went from not working with 1.8 Java, to working, I think at a later version then you have installed. You have: Java Version: 1.8.0_25,
So I recommend you install the version of Forge I list above, or a newer version of forge 1.7.10 and then see if you get a crash.

Yes, the next release that is planned for less than a month away, does let you start as a human (the default), but you can still configure the mod to start as the Silver Dragon.
We wouldn't want to make anyone wait until after killing the Ender Dragon before they can become a dragon though (I think that is what you were suggesting), as the mod is all about being a dragon. Of course it is also about ravaging and destroying villages and the villagers too

Just thought I'd mention that I updated the thread and cleaned it up a bit. If look around a bit you can get a few sneak peaks at what's coming soon.
havent checked this forum in quite a while, but i love what it has become, love the become a dragon feature. i will try it out tomorrow.
Hey guys. I haven't checked this mod I a while. Hows everything doing.

We are doing good.
We will have a new release pretty soon, although we have slowed a bit in development because of summer vacations, etc.
We need to finish a few textures, but all of the features are complete. We may add one more dragon.

I cant put the eggs in the hoard.
got it working its awesome. great job. These draghons are awesome they look so funny but so cool. I love the earth dragon.
if ound a glitch when ever you change form in the air you keep flying (it says your human and you look in f5 your human) and when you touch the ground you die.
Ya, l haven't decided how that should work. doesn't seem like they should just fall to their death.

One idea is to not allow changing from dragon to human unless the dragon is on the ground, not flying.

OK, that was pretty easy. It now says in a chat message: "Can not change to human while flying!" if you are not on the ground.
This will be in the next private build (PM me is you want to try a private build and become one of our testers).
So now don't try to change to a human when you are at the bottom of the ocean as the Water dragon either Or in a pool of lava
