The Meaning of Life, the Universe, and Everything.
Prologue(You can skip this)
My brother plays a lot of PVP servers and he had an Idea to somehow filter all the loot he got from killing others. So I said: "Eh, let's give it a try"
I went trough blood, sweat and tears to create this mod! Mainly because I have no previous knowledge with java and MC modding. So... I present to you... *drums*... ItemPickup Filter mod!
What it does? Well I'm glad you asked...
...It does exactly what the name says. It filters the crap you're running trough.
How it does?
On collision with an item, the mod checks, if that particular item is listed in the check-this-config-list-to-see-if-and-item-is-here-and-do-stuff configuration file. If it is listed, the mod will restrict the player from picking up that item.
To add an item to the restriction list, use /itemfilter add minecraft:coal That's it. It's really that simple! The same goes to removing items. /itemfilter remove minecraft:<item>
Things the mod should do
It should be compatible with items from other mods that use mod:item scheme. Which I believe all of em do.
It should have the option to edit config file and then reload it to the mod. It does not work for some reason.
Things the mod is notdoing
Reloading the config from file (No idea why)
Distinguishing items with metadata. Wool, potions, records etc.
Things the mod is going to have
Fancy GUI to enable and disable items
Nicely organized code
No random not working bits of code which noone knows where they came from
Things you can do
You can remove items from the restriction list
You can reload the config (Apparently not useful right now)
You can enable/disable the mod with /itemfilter enable/disable
Things you should not do
Don't type in /itemfilter without any arguments. It does funky stuff to the mod.
Expect too much within the near future. Well I will be working on the mod, but I need a loooooooooooooooong time to learn.
Project is cancelled.
Put the jar-file into your mods folder
Configure the mod to your likings via Forge's config Gui under Mods button. Check the video below
Just a quick video to show mod's functionality
How to configure item restrictions.
-You may use my modification in your modpack as long as you direct the user to this thread.
-You may NOT distribute ItemPickup Filter mod without my written permission.
-This thread and the curse.com page are the ONLY places for official builds. Any other webpage/individual distributing the mod is probably a bad guy.
-Any topic not mentioned here does NOT automatically mean neither yes or no. Contact me if you have any questions.
