I am creating a team to develop a new Minecraft server API called Tub (Like Bukkit, Spigot, Sponge, ect.). I have some ideas already, for one it will be completely open source and easy to navigate around because I want it to be highly user friendly, along with other ideas such as it being able to handle mods in a smooth way and being able to use more plugins on less ram. Basically I plan on it being a very light weight API.
But I've come here to get your opinions. What would you like to see? What is your dream server API?
Who will the project be ran by?: The projects lead will be me, Noah and you guys considering I want this to be an API that takes the great ideas from the community and actually uses them.
Where can I find announcements on the project and chat with the community?: On our upcoming IRC channel and forums.
What about plugins?: We are welcoming and encouraging that plugins are made directly for the Tub API, in fact we will have a section on our forums dedicated to you showing off your plugins. As for plugins made for other platforms such as Bukkit they can be used as well.
Can I donate to the project?: At the moment no, but we may eventually ask for donations to help us reach our goals.
Will the project be Open Source?: Yes! That is a big point of the Tub project. It not only helps you find the code you are looking for but helps us find and fix our mistakes.
Can I join the team?: Yes, Recruits will be hired via the forums.
What is the URL to the forums?: We are working hard to get the forums ready!
Where can I download it?: Sadly, Tub is currently still in development. Announcements will be made ASAP after the first version of Tub is ready for public use.
