Wither Power is a mod based around a modular network system that converts nether star essence into a networked energy system called Wither Units (WU). All of the technology available will be end-game and incredibly expensive. If you want perspective, a nether star is consumed in the creation of almost every block in this mod.
A network will be assembled once a Network Brain block is placed. A network's capacity is currently set to 5 blocks maximum. In the current testing version of the mod, you need to provide the Network Brain a constant large constant energy flow plus an additional amount of energy for any Essence Providers and even more for every Network Capacity Expansion block. Network blocks will have to be placed 2 blocks away from each other with a one block gap to be considered part of the network. There will be a visual notification to indicate that this is working properly.
In addition, functional blocks include but are not limited to blocks that process ores to 4 ingots per ore and also compress ingot blocks to plates for use in extremely useful armor. These aspects of the mod are still being fleshed out and this can change at any time to add balance
One additional note before I move on, how I plan nether star consumption to work is that the essence provider will not consume the stars. They contain an indispensable amount of essence within them, but unfortunately the amount of essence they give off is only projected light, so the Essence Provider turns the light into the network's power unit. Nether stars are only consumed in the crafting of the blocks themselves. This may change in the future.
Planned Compatibility: All of the tech mods and most-likely Thaumcraft. Other mods will be hit or miss depending on whether or not I can easily or feasibly fix it. For the moment, you need a tech mod to make this mod work as there is an RF cost to keep the network maintained (A VERY large one at that). Blocks that generate RF are not planned as generation statistics are a lot harder to balance than consumption rates.
Mod usage license: At the time of release, the mod will be considered Open Source, which pretty much means you can do what you want with it. However, there are only 3 restrictions that apply to the source code that I will ask that you follow, for the sake of my sanity and ability to fix the mod:
• If you change any of the recipes for a modpack or the mod itself, mark in the description that you did so that any information posted on the mod can remain accurate. You don't have to do this, but it reeeeeally will help keep reports on edits of this mod to a minimum!
• Do not feel obligated to give credit for the mod if you don't want to. However, if you're redistributing it, please link to this post and not to a direct link or adfly. If you do post a direct link to the mod, note that the link can break at any point and/or be incompatible.
• Don't claim the mod belongs to you and do not be disrespectful about how you distribute it. This includes but is also not limited to selling the mod itself.
If you're respectful to these terms, then distribute the mod how you want. Thanks!
Oh, right. If you want to contribute to the mod before release (I really do need help, you will be credited properly) then private message me your Skype contact name. However, the license will not change if you contribute. I don't want any "I contributed so your mod has to be closed source" stuff.

Hey. I'm an avid lurker in the Minecraft community and experienced coder in other languages. I don't post because I browse instead. Deal with it.
Are the two black blocks in the center of pic from ur mod? It looks very similar to some blocks from AE.
Nah, I was just testing compatibility with AE2 & ExtraCells 2. However, it is planned to be a more expansive mod than it is now. Glad you like the idea!
"Are the two black blocks in the center of pic from ur mod?"
Ah, I misunderstood. I guess from AE being in the image that you could draw that conclusion. The answer is no. Applied Energistics is storage-centric and Wither Powered will be kind of more like a "do as much as it can to help" type of dealio. The black blocks are also animated and once technology actually hits the fan some faces probably will light up based on connections to other blocks and whether or not they are turned on.
I have noooo idea how to use OpenGL though yet so 3D animations for now is going to be tough. I have already begun animating some of the blocks and tools Glad you enjoy the idea again! I'm going to put most of my effort in making this mod useful and somewhat good looking :3
I would be lying if I said there was no inspiration from AE though, that mod definitely did make this mod idea possible. Hopefully the new maintainers of AE allow for compatibility on the same magnitude of the now-old mod.
Thanks again! I will try as hard as I can to keep this as organized and modular as possible for use in tech worlds.
Oh right also, do note that a good portion of the textures in this mod are animated. It can change if it becomes a problem but it looks really good, especially for the wrench.
