Adds one simple game mechanic: Small rooms inside of blocks. It basically gives you the ability to build your contraptions inside of a single block.
Each side of a Compact Machine has a small buffer for items, fluids and Redstone Flux allowing the room to interact with the outside. Applied Energistics channels, ProjectRed bundled cables and OpenComputers cables are supported as well. The room has the corresponding counterparts on its walls.
Please do not ask about "having permissions to XYZ this mod". You have it, do what ever you want with it.
Your first room
Craft yourself a compact machine
Right click it with a "Personal Shrinking Device"
Use the interfaces in the walls to access the buffers
Right click again to leave the block.
Spotlight
Thanks to @Udaldor for creating this very in-depth and easy to understand spotlight. Much appreciated!
Blocks and Items
Compact Machines, 6 sizes
Surround a World Resizing Cube with one of the following materials:
Wood gives you a 3x3x3 room
Iron, 5x5x5
Gold, 7x7x7
Obsidian, 9x9x9
Diamond, 11x11x11
Nether Star, 13x13x13
Personal Shrinking Device
Required to enter/leave a block. Don't lose yours while you are working inside of a machine or you might get trapped.
Quantum Entangler
Use it to link two machines to the same room. They share the same content and buffers. Both machines must be upgraded with a netherstar and must be of the same size. You cannot entangle two used machines, i.e. the target machine must never have been entered before.
Stuff only required for crafting
You only need these to craft the two things above.
World Resizing Interface
World Resizing Cube
Atom Shrinking Module
Atom Enlarging Module
Other random features
You can upgrade your Compact Machines using a Nether Star.
Upgraded machines do not lose their contents and can be placed down again.
Not upgraded machines drop their content - you might lose stuff though, be warned.
Interfaces/Machines can automatically export their contents
You can configure this using the interface block GUI.
The machines interior is automatically chunkloaded

This mod would not have been possible without the following open source mods:
Enderstorage (helped with inventory + fluid handling across dimensions)
All of these mods provided code for certain features or at least ideas on how to tackle some implementations. Again, this mod would not have been possible without the fantastic work of their authors. Thank you guys a lot. I would also like to thank everyone who contributed directly in some way, e.g. the translators and others who helper promote the mod.

I put this in a 2X mod showcase combo here:
Okay, this is less a mod showcase and more a mod house building thing, but hey. Check out some of my other showcases too, if you want.
Two suggestions: Redstone Currents being moved, and connecting the blocks into one space. Other than that, great work! I feel this has more uses than just machines (Compact living spaces on servers, for one) and you fixed a problem right after I encountered it! Seriously, I think this mod might be release-worthy. I'd love to see more from you, Minecraft-wise.
This isn't necessary anyway, since these are basically cables and have no buffer to begin with. Fixes compatibility when not having these mods installed.
Allow stuff to grow in Compact Machines.
Basically sunlight. Grass, seeds and stuff.
Added the Quantum Entangler

I was playing with this yesterday, it is it pretty amazing! My mind is spinning with ideas. Building a Big Reactor , mob farms, storage, farms..so many uses. I'm watching this one close

Glad you like it.
Updated to v1.6
Added support for OpenComputer cables
Added support for WAILA
Interfaces show their side and Machines show size and room number.
Translations! Thank you guys.
Fix #10: Prevent stuff from entering buffers on unused machines
Chunkloading settings
There are three settings to choose from:
0 = Never. This is not recommended and only for servers with very poor performance
1 = Always. The machines interiors are always chunkloaded. This is the default
2 = Smart. The machines interiors are chunkloaded when the machine itself is chunkloaded
Changing these settings on an existing world might not work fully automatically, e.g. when switching to "always" mode you might have to check by machines in the overworld so their interiors get chunkloaded.
In the 1.8 version, items stored in inventories which were inside compact dimensions got all scrambled up. It's like all the IDs got switched around, and the only place it happened was the compact dimension.

I cannot reproduce this. Do you have an idea when this happens?
It happened during a server restart. I'm not exactly sure what caused it. I just know the only place where it happened was the compact machines dimension. It might be something involving the two players who glitched out and started building outside of the compact machines, it also might be due to me accidentally stopping the server without saving it first. I don't know.
Luckily I have a backup that isn't too old, I'm just going to restore it and hope it doesn't happen again. If it does I'll hopefully have more of an idea of what caused it.
Random comment - I downloaded this mod solely because I thought it was awesome that you used a classic Gameboy icon for the Personal Shrinking Device. I used to get so sucked into playing that thing when I was a kid. "It's Zelda - in my HAND!!!"
This mod's pretty neat too
-edit- People claim 'first!' on new forum threads - can I do the same for downloading new releases of mods? Cause if so.. Thanks for 1.9!
First of all, love the idea!! It would be really nice to have ore tripling etc in one block. Only suggestion I have is to label each side of the compact machine with the compass direction from the interface. It is a bit confusing at the moment trying to figure out which side of the block is which
MAN! This looks amazing! Downloading and trying this out when i get a chance. I think it would be really nice to have large space-heavy machines in one block.

This should be fixed with this release:
Updated to 1.8
When nesting Compact Machines do not teleport directly to the overworld when leaving an inner block, but instead return to the previous room.
- Allow setting the spawn location inside of machines, simply right click your Personal Shrinking Device while sneaking.

Until I release a new version later today you can set the chunkLoadingMode to "always" and should not experience the crashes from before.
