Glad to hear that school is going well and the whole "opening a node" idea literally made me wanna burst with excitement. The idea of controlling a node like that sounds amazing to me so I really hope that all comes together.

This thing may not look that impressive right now, but it's going to become a big requirement for any infusion done with Thaumic Machina. Essentially what I'm doing is making certain types of infusions require these things called Infusion Foci (Focus for singular), which allow you to craft the types of items in the altar. Wand augments are going to be changed to require a middle-tier variant of Infusion Focus.
To explain in more depth, I'm using custom infusion recipes, and I plan on using the World instance I'm given to scan around the altar matrix to find various blocks, depending on what block it is I will either be allowing the recipe to be started (ergo making the block required to start the crafting), or some other thing (maybe changing the data on the outcome item).

I don't have a whole heap of free time, and not everything I do is around modding, so updates won't be coming out all of the time. The mod currently is not being worked on too much, I've still got school work and such, but it will be in the upcoming weeks.

kind of a noob question, but it didn't really become clear to me what this mod actually does. I understand the wand augmentations and such but whats this speak about "other dimensions" ?
edit: on second glance, I don't really understand wand augmentations

Most of the stuff implemented and talked about so far relate to future features, what I meant by opening up nodes is being able to tear a node open in a way that allows you to connect with the dimension on the other side of the node, but this is just an idea and not exactly a planned feature.

Not sure if this is a problem with your mod, but I'm not
sure where else to start - hoping you can point me in the right
direction if need be.
We're running a modified and expanded FTB Infinity pack on a Cauldron server. Modlist to be sent via PM as it's a private pack.
The research for one of the wand augments (forget which one offhand - it's the one beneath the tainted one) is acting normally; it complains about
not having paper and tools if you don't, allows you to click it if you do. But when you do click it, the game gives the indication that you've
been handed the note and it never appears in the inventory. This is also happening for one of the researches in "Magia Naturalis" ( https://github.com/TrinaryBrain/MagiaNaturalis-PublicArea/issues/5 ). Not sure what further information I can offer, but if you need some let me know and I'll do my best to provide it.
Lost interest a bit and school; I've got a big project that I'm going to be working on coming up so that'll be taking my time. The mod is in no way dead, just development is on the shelf for now.

So will you be releasing a bug fix since the mod is not dead? I am only able to research up to "Wand Stability" then I try to get reaserch notes, the paper and ink is used, but i get no note. What I have seen so far has been nice though. :-D

Wand Stability is supposed to be a stub research, ie it automatically unlocks when you unlock augmentation, but it didn't want to work.
