However, you should be alright running this on an updated Thaumcraft version. Nothing in the wand code has changed, the only thing that will be broken are the rune renders on the side of wands (Azanor moved the class to a new location), I've been flat out with school, which ended last week, but I was also busy with other stuff, on top of being sick.

I've actually been looking out for a report of that bug, for some reason the stub system in research isn't auto-unlocking it. I'll see what I can do, as I said, I've been busy and will be up to the 2nd, then I should be back to working on it. For anyone who thinks I've abandoned the mod, I haven't, I actually have some rather cool stuff planned. Just need to find the time and a little bit of modelling / texturing help with it.
The only issue with the Concept research system is that for some things it is a pain to try to flesh out the theories, for an upcoming mechanic, which I will only say it has something to do with infusion, it will be a pain to explain the theories that go into it.
this mod looks quite well designed, and i love the ability to customize wands but i have a few request/ideas for wand upgrades, mostly now that Azanor has added this new fancy Foci enchanter how about adding the ability to add a effect onto your wand that is like the primal staff with its potency I buff, i can see many enhancements being possible with this style but ill just name a few: potency, frugal, weakness,slowness,flux effects (all of them are pretty good/bad?) alchemists fire (only works when using appropriate Foci?) and warping. also i'm hoping more unstable effects for the wands is planned because its nice to have a mod that balances in the same way as thaumcraft itself does.
i really hope i don't sound like: "do this i demand it nau! or elze" they are just suggestions and like all suggestions i don't mind if you ignore them.

It's alright to suggest something, you don't sound demanding.
Could you maybe explain that again? I don't really understand your suggestion all too much. Do you mean as in say having a "perma-effect" applied to the wand? So say add on a "perma-Potency", and all foci you use will have a Potency effect applied, 1 level per application or something. Would be a cool addition, I don't think it'd work with upgrades for specific foci though, so Alchemist's Fire probably would be out, but Frugal or Potency would be good.

The crimson melee damage augment functions whether i've augmented the wand/staff with it or not. it even works before i've even researched it.
With thaumic machina installed all wands/staves do more damage and have a wisp attack sound as well as drain vis without the augment required to enable it.

0.2.0 included the start of the Crimson tree, and a new augment.
0.2.1 is just a quick patch to the build script to not include the Thaumcraft API.
These should be fully compatible with both Thaumcraft 4.2.2.X and previous versions.
