I think I speak on behalf of the Mechnical Wizards:
Can we MLG PRO NO SCOPE *AIRHORN* with our new wands?
This has been puzzling many for centuries.
Pretty much.
The upgrades also largely depend on the wand itself, augment a crappy wand, and the upgrade done to that wand isn't so good, augment a really powerful wand and the upgrade done to it is pretty good.
This is a very nice mod, and I'll defiently use this mod in my modpack.

Anyway, I just played around a little bit and read some of the stuff and I have a question. When you get to the point that Augmentations getting reversed do they completly lose the augmentation or are they just turned off?
What do you mean by "augmentations getting reversed"?
If you mean the instability getting reversed, your augmentations should remain.
If you mean my idea for wands being modified to remove the channeling ability of the capping, this shouldn't affect the augmentations themselves, but more so the functionality of the wand.

I really like the idea of this mod! I actually have a suggestion for some machine type blocks that you could add. The idea that I had was machines that run off of CV, sort of machines like a pulverizer(I can't think of something other than just a pulverizer, sorry). But anyway, I really like the idea of the mod! Keep up the awesome work

That's actually one of the ideas I was planning for the addon, but just as a teaser, not all machines will run off CV.

I recommend a complete overhaul on the wands and staves system ie:
Aspect Specialization
"When a thaumaturge uses one type of aspect for a long period of time it specializes the thaumaturge to that aspect by giving him/her the knowledge lost to other aspect shapers...(you cannot specialize in more than one primal aspect but you can in the resulting compound aspect)"
Wand caps + Staff Rod/ Wand Core(made of a Outer material and a + Runic Carvings for Basic wand function(doesn't need to be visual at first can be a tooltip or something) these can be added on to for "runic" Upgrades and at some point can specialize to one aspect to match the thaumaturge's PRIMAL Aspects, since you can only carve primal aspects...(you can however carve primal aspects in a chain to make compound aspects)

The first suggestion sounds good, I'll add it to my ideas document. I did plan for a "choice-based" system to be implemented, but not with wands, more so with research. Say for example, you unlock the Crimson side of the research, that then opens up a few branches, one that primarily upgrades the tech related to wands and foci, one that upgrades the tech related to infusion, one that unlocks new tech in the area of universe and space manipulation (going to be a thing), etc.
You could then research into a specific branch, say thaumaturgy (wand and foci branch), and you will have the ability to research all possible things in that branch. However, certain things within other branches may be locked out, say for example the infusion side, you will lose the ability to research the more end-game aspects of that branch (doesn't mean they're completely locked out, working together with friends you will be able to trade research and unlock the rest of the branch, however depending on the amount of these branches I add, you may need several people to share research and unlock everything). Not sure if I will actually add this mechanic in, to this extent at least, but it's an idea I've come up with.
The second sounds a little too expansive, maybe wand cores, but not capping or things like that. To me the wand cores seem similar to the cores in Harry Potter, sort of. At the start with the mundane wooden wand, it's a simple wand which can be used to channel low amounts of vis, however it is not powerful enough to use the vis for other more powerful things. You then progress to Greatwood, which has the ability to absorb and withstand greater levels of vis, which in turn stores more vis, and at the same time can also use more vis at a time, leading to more powerful things being used. You then progress (optional though) to the mid-tier cores, bone, netherack, etc, which can (from memory) store 75 vis, and as such can utilise greater levels at a time. The upside to these cores is they auto-regenerate a specific aspect related to the core. You THEN get Silverwood, which can store 100 vis, and it goes on. Basically, once you get up to and past Greatwood, the materials used all exhibit magical properties.
The only thing is I don't see the purpose in splicing wand cores, because the only real differences are the vis levels, which get better as you progress, that and through wand augmentation, it is covered in Thaumic Machina, and the vis regeneration that the mid-tier cores have. Which again, I plan on adding that as an augment.

Unfortunately this mod has been on hold the last few weeks, been busy with school, not even 4 weeks in and had 3 large assignments to do (2 of them were due this week, got them done, the other next year). Got a lot of free time now though, so back to working on the mod!

Now that I'm off school for about 5-6 weeks, I will be able to focus more on this. I have a Crimson tree in already, but am thinking of ideas to add to the Crimson side of the mod. Not wanting to get anything overly complex (I'm down on a modeller and texturer soooo), mainly just smaller things, at least visually. Any suggestions are welcomed, an update should be out within the next few days, a week at most.
