I have a question: does this mod work with stuff like IndustrialCraft, BuildCraft, etc. which has alternative pickaxes?
Depends on what part of this mod you're talking about. Any items from other mods will not require the advanced crafting table, only the normal one, so not entirely when it comes to recipes. However, if you mean can the pickaxe still break things, then I don't see any reason it shouldn't. As long as the tool inherits from ItemPickaxe, it should. This might not work with the IC2 drills though (not sure if they inherit from ItemPickaxe). I'll add in a couple config options to deal with this potential issue.
EDIT: Just found a much cleaner alternative my existing block break event code, which also ensures the compatibility you mentioned. It will be present in the next update.
This is absolutely ingenuous! I also have an idea: use slimeballs for catalysts when making bookshelves.
P.S. When you craft a Workbench, it doesn't activate the achievement "Benchmaking".
I like the idea! I need to add more advanced crafting recipes. Already a few come to mind...
You're looking at the wrong achievements page. This occurs because my workbench is completely separate from the vanilla one. Will fix it anyway for compatibility purposes.
I've mentioned before, but there might actually be a way to get other mods' tools to work with advanced crafting. As several mods are able to identify recipes, it might be possible to dynamically change recipes by assigning a standard set of catalysts by item type. That might need to be a way-down-the-road feature, though.

I'm certain this is possible, but it would have to be done on a case-by-case basis for each individual recipe in each supported mod. The catalysts for the vanilla recipes were carefully selected, not only based on what materials were used, but also the inherent nature, purpose, and appearance of the resulting item. While calculations could potentially be made for recipe ingredients, the results would often seem out-of-place, too expensive, or too cheap.
While many mods exist for version 1.7.2, most are updating to 1.7.10. Minecraft 1.7.2 was riddled with bugs and lag, much of which was fixed in the versions afterward through 1.7.10. I may backport this to 1.7.2 since so little has changed between it and 1.7.10, but probably not. Again, you can do this for us if you want.
Mods compiled with Forge for 1.7.10 (like this one) cannot be loaded with Forge for 1.7.2. I suggest you update to 1.7.10.
See the todo list. Right now iLiminate is working on NEI integration. I am currently working on bugfixes. After that, iLiminate will probably work on the campfire, and I will work on finishing cloth armor. Beyond that, I don't really know.
I Just want to wish you luck with this mod.MITE mod started just like this a few months ago and it took off like wild fire. I say make it hard but not impossible and I think it will go very far. I just started playing and got caught in a tornado because I have corosus weather and tornadoes mod installed so I had to dig a hole and hunker down but look forward to the challenge.
Hmm, it is possible, but may not be implemented for a few versions. NEI is also coming along nicely I think, and we have a stream today to demonstrate the mod. Tune in at 12 P.M. CST on twitch.tv/iliminaterbx
This sounds amazing! And Im going to put this out here, it reminds me of BTW...but better because I can play it with other mods lol. I like the idea of having to work for things. Wood tier is way too fast, especially when you play this game as much as I do.
Been looking for a TerraFirmaCraft like mod since ages (my computer can't handle that mod...)
This mod is pretty cool, you may want to steal some ideas improve basic tools by requiring some kind of smithing to get them. Does this mod have any way to detect when an update is out or we have to get there first ?
I don't think I'll require smithing, and while TFC goes for (extreme) realism, we still try to remain true to the vanilla feel of the game. Enchanted tools can be 'smithed' out of less enchanted ones or books. Also, we have the advanced crafting table for that very purpose.
We plan on implementing some sort of update checker eventually, but we aren't quite there yet.

Did you run Minecraft 1.7.10 BEFORE you installed forge?

Don't forget to read the crashlog before reporting the crash. It might tell you why it's crashing.

Pumpkins must have axes as their tool. I should fix that and make them have no tool required.
