Ok, time for some previews for the next build. I'm not ready for release yet, due to the fact that it has been a lot of making stuff to base gameplay on, instead of making new gameplay (like fully functional mobs and chest loot). Here I have some of the things I have been working on:
Creeper Cave. A new type of cave scattered with vines and mossy cobblestone. It has 2 creeper spawner and a custom chest with loot!
Mimic chest had an overhaul... again. They now start out as actual chests! The ones in the creative tab can be used to create specific ones, while there is also a random one of course (which is actually called Chest so hopefully it will confuse even Waila users).
Finally, the mod will feature a bewitched tome library! Including a custom mob spawner that looks like a bookshelf (which can also be placed in creative mode for your own haunted libraries). These drop normal books of course... don't want people to exploit them for enchanted books. Using these for a book farm would be a cool idea though.
Goblins are in the mod. They throw small rocks at the player. Still working on the greedy version.
A LOT of time went into the wizard towers... jeez. They look great though and basically take most kinds of terrain into acount. Obviously, their generation rate is in the config file. They will feature a wizard mob which is still in development.
Thanks for reading and I hope you are looking forward to the next build!!

Wow, this stuff looks amazing, and my idea even pretty much got in too! I like this! But as long as we're naming the Mimics 'chests' to mess with waila users, it should probably also call the bookshelf spawner a bookshelf.
I'm also just the slightest bit currious what those other weird chests shown in your inventory are...
EDIT:
The Wandering traders seem to be conspiring to take down my world. If I'm even reading this crashlog correctly. While we're on that subject, could they maybe be banned from having multiple trades that are exactly the same? It kind-of feels like an easy thing to do and they regularly seem to have multiple trades for 30 poppies.

Hopefully MCF fixes spoiler tags soon, because this looks terrible.
I will work on the trades Thanks
Can you recall what biome that was? I can fix it with a null check which I did not do for some reason, but still... why it no has biome id...?
keep up the good work davey i'm very sure this new update will be great and oh if you hit spider+ while is hanging in one block this will happen and he can move while in this funny looking pose i'm guessing ti's rare bug because doesn't happening every time sorry for my bad english by the way
A lot of work still has to be done, including some more tedious stuff like bug fixes and determining loot for every cave and merchant.
@mustafa: Will check if I can fix that Hanging Spider bug... really odd occurence.
@Sunconure: Yeh, new gen is basically the only way :/ Also because it would possibly destroy player structures if generated in existing chunks. However, you can generate them on command using a creative tab item.
@PD101: Pink Slime blocks... probably not as I want to base them on green ones in 1.8. However, I will try to get that mob in for v1.1
@MohawkyMagoo: The witch will be in the v1.1 update, but it might not be in the next build. Wizards also still needs loads of work
As some of you guys know I don't simply make a mob to have another mob. Nah, I want to add some fun features, that's why it often takes a bit longer. I hope you understand.

This didn't actually happen when any merchants were all that near me, but the loaded biomes within my render distence were:
Roofed Forest, Plains, Birch forest, Desert, and River.
I think that's all? It is kinda strange that there would be an area with no biome Id...

Yeh... it's a function of the vanilla Minecraft code, but it still crashes somehow :/ Currently I do a catch for the exception but obviosuly that's not the way to go. I might need to get the spawn biome in my own new way.
Yes - another vote here for more Goblin types - miner, archer, bomber, shaman (Goblin Wizard), Chief, spear and sword armed. How about a wolf rider?
+1 for wolf rider, but as for the spear thing, idk I'd rather not have Primitive Mobs add a completely new weapon unless there are more uses than just "thing for goblins to use". Unless Davey is planning to have something like spear hunting/fishing in Atmosmobs in which case, the spear is a great idea.
Overall though these are good ideas, I'd love to see them in Primitive Mobs.
Anyway, I have yet another suggestion (I know, I posted one on the main Primitive Mobs thread like 10 minutes ago) since it seems everything is testificate-themed these days. It ties into the whole witch and summoner thing.
Cultist villagers! These villagers belong to some kind of creepy cult, which shouldn't go into too much detail because I don't really like Minecraft having a "storyline" or specific lore. But basically, villages have a chance of spawning with a new underground structure, which is like a catacomb or dungeon kind of thing, accessed through a hidden lever or trapdoor in one of the houses. About 75% of the villagers in the village are cultists, by day they wear their normal villager robes and do trades and stuff, but at night they all gather in the dungeon wearing black robes. In this form, they're hostile, and either attack you with swords or potions (so they're kinda like witches). At the end of the dungeon is the leader, a mysterious hooded priest guy, with two summoners and two cultists healing him. His attacks inflict Wither on you. He drops bones and coal, the other people drop regular witch drops or summoner drops.
As for the rewards for defeating the cult, I'm not really sure. Maybe there could be a jail cell in the dungeon where villagers are locked up (as sacrifices) and when you free them, they give you emeralds and stuff? Or the altar could have something cool inside it, like a free wither skull. Another idea I had is that behind the altar there's another secret room. This room contains a crypt and inside is a T made out of coal blocks with skeleton skulls on it. What could this possibly mean? What kind of god do these villagers worship, and why did their leader's touch make you feel like your very life was withering away?
Anyway, Davey, I hope you like my suggestion. I feel like the Overworld needs more harder, mini-boss type mobs. The elder guardian in 1.8 was a step in the right direction, and I think the cultist villagers will add to that as well.
Its already been done - Diversity mod, on which DaveyXO is helping out on:
"But basically, villages have a chance of spawning with a new underground structure, which is like a catacomb or dungeon kind of thing, accessed through a hidden lever or trapdoor in one of the houses." - is the Diversity cultists houses.
Really? I've been playing around with Diversity recently but I didn't know they had cultists. Brb downloading newest version.

Timeless Modding is kinda dead but idk what to put here now
Ok well after about 40 minutes searching for inns, I gave up and spawned some worshippers. When I switched to survival they killed me. Guess they don't want me in their cult.
Well I'm starting my own cult! With minigames and anime girl skins! No but seriously I find a lot of similarities between Minecraft and Slavic paganism, for example the Wither is very similar to a death god that was depicted with 3 heads. And the enderdragon matches a dragon god who was found in the underworld, which would be the End. Hey it makes more sense than Scientology, so...

So I have another suggestion (sorry) for a new mob called stray sod. They're like evil faeries that look like grass blocks, with tall grass on top. Similar to lily lurkers, they stay buried in the ground pretending to be grass. If someone tries to break the tall grass (a.k.a. their hair) they jump up and attack. They do low damage, but run around really fast so they're hard to hit, and wield sticks, bones, or (very rarely) precious hoes as weapons. When at low health they will attempt to run away, break a grass block, and hide. Shovels do double damage to stray sod, so if you correctly guess where a sod is hiding, you can one-shot it. They drop seeds, dirt, and whatever item they were wielding.
I attached a mockup of what the face would look like, in the actual model the nose and eyebrows would be sticking out. Let me know if you want to add stray sod to the mod, then I'll make a model and actual textures.

This is a kind-of interesting idea, and it certainly fits in fairly well with what's already in the mod, but I think they ultimately won't really work.
I mean, they're grass. Any idea how much of that there is in the minecraft world? A lot. If it was something that there was enough of that you'd actually find them sometimes, your biomes would be filled with them. I like the idea of a precious hoe more than a sword or shovel, but I think I have a slight edit you your idea that could improve it. Or you could hate me forever. Whatever. But I think that it should be something similer, but perhaps for wheat instead of grass. This way it's confined to areas that players are actually in, or villages I guess, and the hoe makes even more sense.
The next question is how the precious hoe would work. My personal suggestion would be that it creates a block exactly like damp farmland, except incapable of expiring without nearby water.

Thanks, should be fixed with next update.
Also, this is what I've been working on for the last couple of days:
Will summoners spawn here?
When you post a mod: "No pics no clicks" and "MCreator = bad ~99% of the time"
Don't forget to read the crashlog before reporting the crash. It might tell you why it's crashing.

Can you recall what biome that was? I can fix it with a null check which I did not do for some reason, but still... why it no has biome id...?
Must try this update!
I have a new account called "Mushroomsock" now, so please do not send me PMs.
keep up the good work davey i'm very sure this new update will be great
and oh if you hit spider+ while is hanging in one block this will happen and he can move while in this funny looking pose
i'm guessing ti's rare bug because doesn't happening every time sorry for my bad english by the way
Would it be possible to retrogen this new content? Or am I going to have to either do a new map or go out very far to find these new structures?
Will the pink slime blocks and strange creature with 8 arms be in this update?
Bone app the teeth.
Pfff so many questions
Cheers!

Cave goblins? Reminds me of Runescape, I like it.
