Eclipse RPG has finally been posted onto a forum. After a few weeks in secret development, Eclipse RPG is finally announced to the public. So, what is Eclipse RPG? It is the next generation of RPG mods in Minecraft. Some even describe it as a standalone game. With features never before seen in other RPG mods, this one will blow you away.

Eclipse RPG is a new mod that aims to create the next generation of RPG mods. As of now, Eclipse RPG is in the Pre-Dev stage, which means the actual mod has not begun to be made, but we are rather in an “idea” stage, gathering ideas and finalizing them for the mod.
Eclipse RPG takes an entirely new approach at the standard RPG mod. To achieve this, there will not be a lot of dimensions to play through, but rather one world, quests, and a whole host of new features players haven’t experienced before, including a multitude of new mechanics.
This mod will be huge in the end, so to make this work, I will need a lot more help. If you have any experience in coding, texturing, modeling, lore writing/ideas people, and beta testers -- we need them all! A list of the current team members can be found under “The Team”. We can never have too many members!

Overworld Additions
Not only is this mod focused on the RPG aspect of it, but we will incorporate more realistic features into the game, such as thirst, etc. Besides these realistic features, the mod will be built around the existing foundation of Minecraft (meaning everything will balance out with vanilla Minecraft). Expect more features to be added to this list within time.
Mechanics
This mod will try and add several new mechanics to enhance the RPG aspect of the mod.
Currency
Every item in the game will have a set currency, that is which randomized. You can sell items to shops or other people if playing a multiplayer version of the mod. If you get lucky, you might even find some coins in hidden chests as well.
Quest System
At the start of your adventure, you will have a Journal. The Journal will be the place where all your active and completed quests will be held. Quests can be anywhere between collect some ores for a local shop, or finding hidden treasure, or even to killing a dangerous boss. This system will be elaborated on in the future.
Magic
Instead of slaying mobs with your fists and blades, you can approach this aspect from a Magic aspect. Cast spells using wands and staffs.
Tiered Weaponry
Many of the basic swords and armor in Minecraft can get boring. To fix this, most sets of armor and weapons can get upgraded to different tiers which are more powerful and stronger.
Realism
Instead of having to use multiple mods to get this effect, it’d be best to just add it in to this mod. Realism will make Minecraft tougher in general. You’ll have to worry about thirst, air level, and other miscellaneous features as well. Don’t worry, you’ll be able to live .
Custom World
Eventually, a custom world will come out to play on with you and your friends. This world will be fully playable.
Loot Crates
Loot Crates are basically chests that spawn randomly throughout the world. Each chest can contain a variety of items and weapons, including rare, more powerful ones. Once a crate has been looted, it will not regenerate so you’ll get a free chest .
Dimensions
Even though I said there wouldn’t be dimensions (I lied ), there are a couple. There are some dimensions which are needed to complete quests, and others that are there to explore, conquer, and loot.

Other Information: Below is an idea i have that would make this stand out among the other RPG type mods i have seen.
A leveling system for skills but make it customizable so that say someone wants to make a modpack around this and make it fit their idea they can tweak it to make it harder or easier depending on what they want. And what i mean by that is they would put in the config file (tool breaks this item = xp in skill) or (Pickaxe breaks stone = 10xp in mining) but they could change it to be another tool if they wanted to. The other part is there are plenty of mods that add in tools and weapons so what would be cool is they could configure it so you cant mine anything with a stone pickaxe till you are level 5 in mining. A completly configurable xp/leveling system could make for some really cool modpacks and servers that would give a unique experience.
Another idea i have is again going with the customizable configs is anything that is considered a mob would get a level and based on how far you are from spawn the mobs get higher in level. And you can customize what they drop at what level and what health they have at what level. And if it worked with other modded mobs things could get really intersting.

Experience: I have been a story teller for game like D&D, Vampire the Masquerade, Werewolf the Forsaken, etc. I have made countless stories for countless realms and time periods. Aside from that, I've also created several different multiplayer servers built around lore for players to roam around in. I've beta tested several different game including, but not limited to, The Elder Scrolls Online, and Destiny.
