Hi I wanted to ask is this project still being continued because I have been looking for SAO like games/mods and many of the projects have failed.
Based on what I have seen so far you have a lot of potential and I really hope that this project succeeds because SAO was an awesome Anime!!

As far as I know, I believe we are still working on the mod, but progress is very slow. I'm not bfox, so I'm not sure exactly what is still left, but several of us are planning on continuing progress soon!

If you are going to be halting development, will you release your current progress as open source? I'd like to take a crack at working on this, but I want to work on it in the background for awhile until I have it working to a satisfactory level (so, like, not out in the public and stuff until after I am done with it (which could take a while since I am currently in college to get a Computer Information Security Associates degree)).
You see, I ask because I would like to help with the project (or even take it over if you need) but I don't want to get everyones hopes up; If I did work on it, I'd be taking it out of the public sphere for awhile until I get enough of it working to be content with it. So, having it open source would allow me to fork it into my own development project while still allowing people to use/mess with the original.
It is either that or I just start from scratch like I was planning on doing, before I found your mod.
P.S. I hope they really do make an SAO movie, I wonder what it would be like... Maybe Kirigaya turns into a hero in real life? Picks up a sword and becomes a vigilante with his SAO trianing--- That would be interesting.
On the off chance you do kick things off again, I'd be up for lending a hand, big SAO fan

Any extra info we should know?: Specialities are minor details, advanced tile entity logic and ISBRH rendering, but I can do other stuff as needed.
Also if you wanted to expand to a sort of full World Seed mod, I can do a lot more useful stuff for GGO.
On the off-chance this mod is rebooted or something else decides to make a SAO mod, I've been working on a few things that are vaguely based around the universe - the main thing being a skill system. I even based my GUI roughly around the SAO one (Skill Icons are placeholders):
It's only loosely based off SAO (eg 7 skills instead of 12) but it's an open source API. Anyone with even the most basic modding experience can very easily make new skills using it - the only java limitations are what you make your skill do
It's actually built to tie-in with my gun mod Advanced Armoury - so if anything I'm closer to making a GGO-style setup. Only a small jump from there though, if someone wants to help me rebuild the Cardinal system to get AI mobs/items generated randomly then we'll be set.

The map hasn't been implemented yet and we are working on our gen code. But production has slowed to a halt for a bit.
I'm sorry, the sword is currently in the mod, you have to spawn it in by commands, but it currently has no purpose.
Got a question for Every one. Should we port to 1.8 ? or stay with 1.7.10?
