Thanks! Unfortunately, I don't really have any friends in the modding community... And I'm not sure I'd feel comfortable handing the mod off to someone else anyway (my code is rather... messy at times XD). After having some time to think about it, though, I am considering making a second Harry Potter Wands mod from scratch using my now much greater knowledge of both modding and programming in general. If I do, it would have the same basic ideals and play as this one, but with some new features, balancing, and more... If there's enough interest I could start on that right away.
And i defiantly support you making a new harry potters wand mod! The idea is awesome! and im sure many many people will agree with me. I mean, how many wand mods based off of harry potter do you see in minecraft?

Cuz I'm actually making a city in MineCraft. One where my siblings play with me on LAN and they have their own jobs and whatnot. And that is why I really wanted this for 1.5.2 as some mods that I use never got updated after 1.5.2 I was planning on slowly revealing that my sister is a wizard (she has a male avatar) and I would have made a Leaky Cauldron bar with a secret entrance to Diagon Alley that my bro would never have known to exist unless he joined the FBI (Yeah I'm making that too XD) So that's why I really wanted it but anyways I wish you success in your future endeavors! Hope to see you come out with a nice new mod soon!

Sadly, I'm not currently working on this mod. I have other projects, school, and actually having a life that are getting in the way, and I'm not completely sure I still have a version of the source code. I may reboot it at some point, but that's both highly unlikely and a completely separate if similar mod.
If the spell misses and it touches a block it should have a firework particle where it hit and maybe make it so the spells are more like a long strip of particles. And one more idea! You should make the GUI so it looks like an circle (like LEGO Harry Potter a bit) and you can press on the spell. Then it takes you back to the game and when you use your wand the spell works.
Man, this post is old. I don't think there were really ever major updates to this since this post, unless I'm mistaken and there is a link I don't know about.
Anyone know how you would make this work on a server? like how would I "Fix" it?
The mod simply isn't set up in such a way that it's possible for it to work on a server. It could be fixed, but I haven't been actively developing it for years and I don't intend to.

Yeah I understand you are not working on it anymore . . . sadly, MC needs a working Harry Potter Wand mod imo. Idk anything about modding but someone told me you would need the source? How does that work?

I'd recommend learning a bit about programming and modding in general before trying to pick something like this up. It will go much smoother for you.
That said, even if I wanted to give out the source code for this mod so someone else could pick it up, I don't think I have it anymore. Even if I did, it would be severely outdated; the mod was only ever brought up to 1.7.10, and only ever half-finished for 1.8.

If a 6mon-1yr and on into the forseeable future hiatus counts as a break, yes. I've kind of given up on modding for now; I've got bigger fish to fry.

By default you can access the GUI by holding a wand and hitting R, if I remember right.
If you're using the latest version of the mod, that's already in it.

This mod has not been under development in years, and I have no way or intent of reviving it.
