What is Liquid Potions?
Liquid Potions is an upcoming re-write of the vanilla potion system, allowing potions to be treated the same way as other fluids such as water and lava. To start, all you need are some vanilla brewing supplies, a brewing stand and some cocoa beans.
What features are currently implemented?
Currently, the only implemented feature in Liquid Potions happens to be the potion liquids themselves. They're there, they work, but there is so much more in store from them then what there is right now.
What features are to be expected by beta?
Besides the obvious features (improved brewing stand, brewing tank, storage vat and a piping system), a variety of new potions and machines are on the agenda. Several features are listed below.
New Potions:
Potion of Flight: brewed with a golden feather, the potion of flight will allow the imbiber to fly for about two minutes. the higher the amplifier, the faster the flight
Potion of Growth: brewed with a zombie thumb, the potion of growth accelerates plant growth in the vicinity, but with only 30 seconds of activity, you might want to find a better way to use it than just guzzling it and babysitting your crops
Potion of Withering: brewed by inverting a potion of growth, this stuff does exactly what you expect it to do. Be careful though, the fumes are even worse than the potion itself
Potion of Aphrodite: brewed with a raw oyster, the potion of Aphrodite prompts mobs and players alike to craft love, not war. Unruly mobs and players under the influence cannot attack in any traditional way, while domestic animals may get a little more friendly
Potion of Cryogenics: brewed from a frozen fractal and a potion of fire resistance, this potion causes lava to cool and water to freeze. A snow golem under the influence could brave the sun's corona and only feel a bit sweaty
Potion of Immolation: brewed by inverting a potion of cryogenics or fire resistance, this potion is a touch warmer than some might find comfortable. While under the influence, try to avoid breathing to avoid minor lung combustion. Good thing it only lasts three minutes
More to come...
New Machines:
Funnel: It's a hopper, but for fluids!
Egg Dyer: You know what's lame? Painting eggs for easter. You know what's awesome? Painting eggs with potions to get mob spawn eggs.
Crystalizer: Growth potions are pretty cool, but as it turns out, they don't just work on plants and fungi. It's an easy way to get more gems and ender pearls, but it is not a fast process
Pseudo-Beacon: Beacons are neat, but with their price tag and size they can be kind of a hassle. A Pseudo-Beacon is much more convenient and affordable, but you'll need to pump in your own potions
New Items:
Zombie Thumb: Sort of like bone meal, but you don't get as much per mob. Oyster: Just another type of fish, only this one has a chance to nauseate you when you eat it. Frozen Fractal: Drops off of snow golems. You can eat it to get a brief fire resistance buff. You can also craft one from five snowballs Golden Feather: It's a feather, but gold. Crafted from a feather and 8 nuggets
Recruiting:
If you are interested in joining the project, please PM me. We need coders, but there are spots open for texturers and modelers too

I was only thinking of potions, but the idea of gilded apple juice sounds funny to me as well, especially since an idea for a potion I neglected to mention would be brewed with an "ender potato"
Who knows, with potions going up to level 8 in this mod I would be all about requiring high-level potions to be brewed from a base of molten cider
