We should be releasing the next version in the next day or two! We have got to grab screenshots and stuff.
As for the Java 6 version, we will not be doing that. We intend to work in the latest Java that is supported by forge, which is java 7. Once java 8 support is added to forge (which won't be anytime soon for multiple reasons) we will move to java 8. Sorry. There should be a way to run technic on Java 7.
Hello everyone! It has been quite a long time since our last update. We’re sorry, school has been busy, and we had some bug fixes in this update that took a lot longer than we thought they would! Needless to say, this is quite a major update for us!
Dedication
As some of you may know, on February 1st , Rooster Teeth Employee Monty Oum passed away due to a severe allergic reaction during a medical procedure. We have decided to dedicate this mod to his memory because he promoted hard work and creativity in all aspects of life. Rest in peace Monty.
New Ore!
With the 3.0 alpha update a new mysterious ore has shown up in the world of Minecraft, energinium. It can be mined with a stone pick, and pulses with a small amount of energy similar to Liquid energy. It can be smelted into ingots, and its crystalline structure makes you think it could be crafted into powerful tools and armor.
Armor!
This new energinium ore can be crafted into armor! You put on this sleek looking armor and feel its power. However, it doesn’t seem to be very protective, if only there were some way to upgrade it…
Upgrade System!
Both the new armor and the baton will now use our new upgrade system! To upgrade armor or the baton, you must craft an upgrade for in (i.e. Sword Upgrade) and place them in a crafting table together. These upgrades can bring the armor and baton up to diamond levels!
Module system!
The baton now uses the module system! From now on, when crafted the baton will only have pickaxe mode by default (batons created before this update will be grandfathered in, don’t worry), and you will need to add modules to get a shovel, sword, axe, or hoe. Similar to the upgrade system, you will need to craft the modules and add them via the crafting bench.
Identity Disc orbital flight!
The Identity disc now will find its way back to you when flying! It also will bounce off solid object when it impacts them!
Other notes
Identity Disc and baton now have new crafting recipes to include the new ore.
We should be releasing the next version in the next day or two! We have got to grab screenshots and stuff.
As for the Java 6 version, we will not be doing that. We intend to work in the latest Java that is supported by forge, which is java 7. To answer your questions, We are not yet on spring break, but we hope to add the light cycles in the next major update and maybe the grid in the next major update or two. Secondly, the current version of the mod is 3.0a, and finally, it seems that your minecraft is still using java 6, which is likely the cause of the issue.
thank you i tried updating it i guess i have to update again do u have the link for it maybe i was using the wrong download
and does java 8 work for this mod

Java 8 can have some issues with Forge so stick to Java 7.
Okay, however it seems that minecraft is still using Java Version: 1.6.0_65, Apple Inc., which must be the default version on your computer. To double check this run "java -version" in a terminal and you should see something that says "java version "1.7.0_75"" in the output. If you don't try following the instructions detailed here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/21964709/how-to-change-default-java-version to change it to the correct version. Disclaimer, I am not responsible for any damages to your computer that may result from incorrect execution of these directions.
