I guess that means that a cubic world is also out of the question, as well? I was hoping that the Minecraft world could be a cube, with the Nether being eight times smaller and nested inside the overworld cube, and maybe with the End as the core of the Nether.
Making a cube world might be possible if someone can figure out how to deal with multiple simultaneous direction systems for the same blocks. Seems hard though. It's more work than I'd care to do right now. Maybe some other enterprising modder will give it a shot. =P

Can't you just teleport players from one edge to another to create a closed world? The basic idea of a cubic and spherical world is simply being in a closed world, as opposed to one which has an edge.
I'm still stuck on how to preserve the fast-travelling properties of the Nether if it's in the same dimension as the Overworld. About the only way I can think of is to have the world become a trapezoidal prism--an upside-down pyramid with the point cut off. The Nether would be at a layer that was eight times smaller than the Overworld. The trouble with that is that block shape and the direction of gravity would have to become incrementally more distorted the further they were from the origin. Probably not worth the effort, really.
"Being able to convert vanilla worlds into tall worlds is an often requested feature."
The weird thing is that vanilla Minecraft has no problem storing the location of the player and other entities when they happen to be present outside the world height limit. Yet it won't allow blocks beyond those limits. What's up with that?
World deletion does not appear to work. It pops up the confirmation screen and freezes for a bit, but the world remains. Also, does anyone know a seed which has trees? I've not found one yet. I've had three infinite treeless mountains, and one combination infinite mountainous desert and infinite treeless mountains, which met along a line intersecting spawn.
EDIT: world deletion has already been reported. I've not seen anyone report 0 trees.
Hi! I would like to help! I know how to do mods in Forge with Eclipse ... but with MAGIC MOJO MOD LOADER no.
Is there any tutorial on how to make mods with MOJO MOD LOADER MAGIC ?
M3L is still brand new. You can't really write mods for it yet. There is no documentation. Basically, only I know how to write mods for M3L right now. This will eventually change, but first I want to get a version of Tall Worlds Mod out there that works reasonably well.

memory isnt an issue as i said its not even maxing out stays less than 1GB usage
and i get well over 200FPS once enough land is generated (Seems to ONLY generate on amplified. or flatlands)
otherwise its just an eternal endless deep ocean with no ground beneath it (I flew for about 30-50 minutes in one direction and never saw a single piece of dirt or stone)

With current generator amplified is exactly the same as as normal. You should see terrain if you create normal world with the same seed.
Does it show biome: Ocean (or Deep Ocean) when you press f3? Biome generation is not changed.
the issue with endless oceans that everyone's having is that Minecraft usually has code that prevents you from spawning in an ocean, tall worlds doesn't if you just fly far enough in one direction you'll come across land eventually

Problems I've had so far... in order... fall to death three times in a row, just to realize you can only swim in water above -1, anything below that allows you to fall to your death (As if on land), or drown. Then, no wood, so I can't craft anything. Then I start to get hungry and starve. So... pretty awesome anyway. lol. Oh, and really long distance views are horrid when compared to normal minecraft.
Keep up the good work anyway! Just like to point out the bugs/errors I've found so far. I know your'll get to fixin' them.

it shows biome deep ocean and im at height level 0 to -1 and if i stop swimming. i fall to my death below the water. definitally not normal. is there a customized terrain generation preset that will possibly generate land without massive oceans? because i STILL kept flying around and generating new worlds for hours finding no landmass of any kind with the "default" terrain option selected.
So is cuchaz primarilly working on bugfixing? hows that coming along? its a bit silent in here.
Yeah, I'm working on bug fixes and performance optimizations. I'm working reducing the memory usage at the moment. The mod is a bit of a memory hog. I don't have a huge amount of free time for modding right now (gotta pay the bills), so updates will be slow. Hang in there. =P

We understand, the memory issue is probably the biggest one right now. hang in there, and keep on doin' what you're doin'

Our custom world generator doesn't do trees yet.
Just noting that pausing the world and leaving it for a while allows the memory usage to decrease.
Please don't PM me asking for help, I will just redirect you to the appropriate forum, where there are others who are far more skilled than me.

BOO! Did I scare ya?
So this is a Client side mod? or a server side plugin? or bouth?
Client-side only for now. Server will happen eventually.
Sweet mother of god, thats nice.
