Maybe after you get more stuff figured out, you could see about getting spiral power to mend the armor made with the spiral chunks? Or if those get phased out at a later date in favor of other mechanics, just the armor in general?
Also I may be able to make a better power gauge, it depends on how suckish I am after having not arted in forever.
Edit: Also, possible bug. How do you detect damage as fall damage? Because floating at the top of lava in peaceful drains the power bar as well.
Edit2: Another bug, probably. The raw spiral energy only stacks to 42 now. confirming once I get back to base
Hmm. The fall damage is calculated by a call to entity.fallDistance. I assumed that only counted fall damage by seeing how far you fell before hitting the ground and then passing that number to the damage application script... Odd. I guess I could have it check the current difficulty before it fires. Also, that bar also doesn't go away when you flip to creative mode. I have no idea how to make it do that yet.
And yes, while making raw spiral energy consumable I played with a few other settings to see what all I could do with it. I thought I removed them all but it seems I missed one, thanks for pointing that out.
I'm sorry I didn't get back to you sooner! Shortly after I made the post, my poor laptop decided it was going to cripple itself. I haven't been able to test out whether it was your mod, another, or just a weird glitch. I will have more info once I get it fixed up
Woo. I know those feels mate. I've been suspecting there's something wrong with my laptop too. Lately the fan has been kicking on full a few minutes after starting and it doesn't go off until I restart. Scary cause this is my only computer lol.
Did you have a lot of mods installed or just a few? I can't imagine what would have caused it. My mod doesn't touch damage values anywhere.
I might suggest using a different recipe for smelting raw spiral energy, as the current one causes a conflict with ProjectRed's circuit plates. Maybe smelting cooked porkchop? (Ohjeez. That gave me another idea. I'm gonna have to learn how to model.)
Glad that you have a way to play at least. I'd be lost without my gaming. :3 That.. is very interesting. So much for core drills being rare I will have to take a look at that. As for the smelting raw spiral energy, I think it's going to be removed now that spiral energy "blocks" spawn in the world. But is nice to know something already does that. Haven't played with ProjectRed yet but I loved redpower back in the day.
As for the most current, 1.9.1 is still where I'm stuck at. I'm still having a major bug with sprial power usage and multiplayer. As a side note, I have sort of... a "community manager" of sorts. Someone to deal with the wiki page and watch over this forum since I tend to forget sometimes.
There's also someone I don't recognize on the wiki page too, was that you by chance?
Not that I know of. I have my own server as well that my friends and I test it on. You can grab a friend and try to pinpoint the exact issue if you want I guess?
Steps to reproduce:
If you have two people on the server, both of you jump off of something until both your Spiral Power drains, have one person consume Spiral Power Droplets to get it back, and have the other jump again. It will auto refill the jumpers power bar.
I'm not sure what causes it yet or how to fix it. If you want, I can PM you the link to the code.. but since I didn't expect other people to see it, it's not commented yet. I'll be working on that ASAP I guess.. it's a bad habit to have :/
Thanks for joining the Wikia group, It'll help the quality of the pages for sure.
I understand man. So I got most of the code all commented out if you checked it when I first sent the PM, it may make more sense now if you're interested in. In other news, I'm pretty sure I solved my problem, can't be 100% sure though without extensive testing with multiple people. I also went ahead and got persistence working as well since I'm about 48% sure the problems gone. Now any non physical spiral power you have will save and persist through save and exit, and on server restart for SMP. The "got core drill" tag also saves now so once you get it with the newest version, no more core drills will drop even after death and reload.
I sure hope there's not lol but I'm sure you'll stress test it in ways I don't or can't ;p
I'd like to think old bugs are squashed before creating new ones.. I may have created a lot of them now with Yoko's Rifle getting implemented. Different fire modes.. and different damage based on ammo type... There's a lot to break :3
Edit: and break it did. With a little testing the current system very quickly fell apart. I'll have to be rethinking how this works.
