This feels like somewhat of an achievement: Cliffie's Goos now has 20 downloads.

Yay...I guess. That's actually not all that many downloads.

Fun fact: I think the mod probably has 10 times as many lines of code as downloads, if not more. XD

Finally, if you have an idea for the mod or a question or something, please tell me! I want to make this mod better!

Edit: Up to 41 downloads! Not as many as I was hoping for, but still pretty darn decent.

It has a bunch of goos, with different properties, such as digging, growing in light, creating walls for other goos, etc -- along with the inevitable "doom!" of runaway goos.

I see that your goos have the run-away effect, but I did not see any sort of "benefit / reason to make them" side.

I don't know about the Mystcraft decay, haven't seen that yet. It's really incredibly easy to limit the goos to the nether/mystcraft ages only, using the built in dimensional blacklist in the config. The reason I released this is because I thought the mod had some neat emergent properties (goos fighting for control in an area, forming colorwheels, etc), and because some days, people just want to end the world.

The point of the mod is to mess around with emergence, and also to be a tough survival mod. Once you get some force fields, no matter how bad the goo, you CAN safely build inside a force field box or something. I intend to do more of the survival soon, I have a ton of that sitting around waiting to be uploaded. The bedrock destruction is a bug, it's fixed in the current version of the mod.

Don't forget to read the crashlog before reporting the crash. It might tell you why it's crashing.

If you want supertools with a challenge, download Tinkers, Cliffie's Goos, and the Tinkers addon, and change your Cliffie's Goos config so the blacklist blacklists the overworld from getting goo.

Tier 4 end of the world goo, and more armor and protection from goos.

Force fields will become a machine kind of thing, you would make a force field projector of some sort, and kinda just have your base always protected from goo and other players.

Also need to do some serious balancing, the goo gets out of control and ends the world in 10 minutes.

Sorry to have to bump this from being down in the depths of the forums, likely never to be seen again...but there is a 1.7 beta version available. I can't get a precompiled jar unfortunately because ForgeGradle seems to not agree with me, but if you're the hack-y sort you can grab the code off of Github.

thanks for the update! however i sometimes crash when walking into goos

edit: i figured it out, it was presence footsteps crashing when youre inside the gas goos
