Cliffie's Goos is a weird mod about emergence, worlds melting, and more. I take the simple idea of a taint/nanotech goo that spreads along the world, and put my spin on it. I'm planning to implement all these:
All the goos have some neat emergent properties, that are rather unintentional. Features:
Cliffie's Goos is getting reposted on other sites, often without links to the source-code, going right in the face of my GPL license. Please tell me if you see any of these sites with the mod on it, although do NOT use a direct link, that makes more traffic from Google for them, which is NOT what we want. Make sure that you are on the actual Minecraft Forums, url and all.

Download the mod from CurseForge!
Tinkers Addon (NEEDS TCONSTRUCT): Github release
Thanks to Minecreatr for making the 1.7 version not explode into a million pieces!
Install instructions:
Install forge for MC 1.6.4, using whatever method suits you.
Find your way to .minecraft (easiest to use open resource packs folder, then go up a folder)
Find your mods folder, drop the CliffiesGoos zip into it, done!
1.7 beta instructions:
Install Forge for 1.7, using whatever method suits you.
Get to .minecraft and add the Cliffie's Goos beta to your mods folder.
Run client once to make sure it doesn't crash, and change any config options you need to.
Restart for config changes - done! Get to playing with the mod, and remember to have fun!

This doesn't count any downloads from shifty shady sites, because those are probably virus-riddled and illegal.
I'm on the CSM team, but I've retired from Minecraft modding for the most part. I made Cliffie's Goos.
I'm an old-timer, been around since Alpha. MC: Windows 10 edition is like the uncanny valley, almost modern Minecraft but off in every way.
I have an XBox tag, but only because I needed one to try the Windows 10 version. I don't have an XBox.
This one adds the tier 1 goos mentioned originally, they DO kill you and anything else on them slowly.

I'm warning server owners now, be careful putting this on your server.
If someone gets their hands on some tier 3 goo, your spawnpoint will be inevitably destroyed. O_O
Also, if you put it on a server you may want to disable automatic goo generation so it doesn't ruin your map.

The tier 2 and 3 taints are too end-of-the-world-ish for most servers I think, so that's why they're disabled.
This should be the last patch before a fairly major update comes out, I think pushing the mod into a fairly complete status (i'll still update it afterwards of course). Keep an eye out!

We also have gas masks to not die in the gas now, as well as giving iron level protection and some other cool loot!
EDIT: I did a derp, need to do another update. T_T
EDIT 2: The gas is driving me mad, I keep noticing bugs. This is a bit unstable right now.

Sounds like a good idea, I'll make sure to add that.
This should be fun for racecourse type things.
Epic! Could you send me a link to the modpack once it's done, I'd love to play it!
I can say that once some of the goo generates, you have about one ingame week to get somewhere safe before the world ends.

They should be good for making gelocity style maps.

I'm an old-timer, been around since Alpha. MC: Windows 10 edition is like the uncanny valley, almost modern Minecraft but off in every way.
I have an XBox tag, but only because I needed one to try the Windows 10 version. I don't have an XBox.
EDIT: Done! Update your CliffiesGoos and grab the Tinkers Addon if you want.

May we have a dimensional blacklist for goos? I'd like to keep it to Mystcraft ages.
Not sure how that's gonna work yet, but okay!
Yuppers, I'll make that a config file option if possible.
EDIT: Releasing update now...you will need to tinker with the config a bit!
You need to let it add the new config option "blacklisted dimension count", then set it to however many dimensions you want to blacklist.
Let it generate the config option for each dimension, it would look like "blacklisted dimension id 1", change it's value to the dimension id of the dimension you want to blacklist (e.g, 0, -1, 1 for keeping the goo out of the nether, end, and overworld).
Should not have posted instructions when I was sleepy.
