I'm playing arround with a lot of Thaumcraft addons and I noticed that some of the textures are being used on TTKAMI and I think they should change, I could try and make some if you will. Also there's the TX problem and both of the mods have REALY cool stuff and I can't choose between them so it would be cool to have that config option to disable some stuff. Besides all that the mod is just looking amazing and the content, so COOL, I mean: Dusk and Dawn Totems AMAZING. Are there going to be still Obidian Totems? 'Cause Advanced Thaumaturgy adds a Flux Dissipator that uses them on the recipe (You can also add your own dissipator, I won't judge you).
you should look up thuamcraft 2 my good sir and be enlightened to the fact that vazkii probably had asked azanor to use some of the textures he decided to chuck, oh and as to avoid spoiling things lets just say you wont be displeased with the textures wiiv made, also i'm pretty sure T145 wouldn't override something that is an important part of thuamcraft

Yes, that is a reasonable observation, and don't worry, I will not be using the old TC textures! Since TC2 is completely obsolete Azanor has basically given free reigns to it, so Vazkii's usage of the textures is alright. I'll be implementing all of the charms and such in a completely original manor (which is what I'm working on now), so that should be something to look forward to! Also, I would never intentionally remove and/or change anything from any mod I'm expanding off of and make that change irreversible. In the instance of this mod, Magistics is simply intended to expand off of TC4, fill in some of the things I've noticed that are wrong or not addressed in TC4, and add in things from old TC versions that integrate in a seemless way, so no changes to the original TC4 is what's planned. I want gameplay w/ Magistics to feel as though it's in TC (in other words, make you feel like you're not playing an addon), and am going to great lengths to do so!

Where is the fix for this? I am getting the same error on my server when trying to run this mod.
sigh this has been answered many times already the 1.6.4 version was a prerelease, so pretty much you have to wait till t145 finishes up with the ton of new features and determines the mod is stable enough to release (1.7+)

This is a very common error in this preview and is caused by the Everfull Urn. You can use everything else risk free, though if any other errors occur, don't hesitate to post!

Well, here is what I'd recommend doing if this isn't your current setup. Head over to http://files.minecraftforge.net/ and download the latest Forge installer, then install the server somewhere to an empty directory. Then rename the jar file that has something like "minecraft-forge" and bunch of other stuff in it to something more comprehensible, like ForgeServer. Then download Magistics and TC4, make a new directory in that server folder called "mods" and move them in it. Next, make an execution file, which varies on your OS. For Windows, just make a launch.bat file and insert this code line into it:
java -jar ForgeServer.jar nogui
For a Unix system the command is the same, though you'll just be using a launch.sh file instead. Then, run the server and everything should work!
My guess is that you're using MCPC+, which uses a more advanced threading system to optimize runtime since it handles Forge and Bukkit.

That is exactly how I have my server set up. I have never used MCPC+
can you keep this mod for 1.6.4 until 1.8 comes out?.. most, if not all of my mods are still for 1.6.4.. plus, 1.8 is gonna be a huge update also, so i think it'd be best to keep this mod in 1.6 until 1.8 is out.. but do what you want, it is your mod after all...

Well, what my current intention is to release a 1.7 version to at least stay up-to-date w/ Thaumcraft. Once that's done, then I'll make a backport to 1.6.4! Doing so will be very easy since all I'll have to do is change every statement that uses Block to utilize a block ID; it will also require a config file overhaul, so mostly a backport will merely be tedious.

That's from TC2, and there shouldn't be any spoilers mentioned just yet
i have a suggestion: The Stopwatch of the Time Twister from the old Thaumic Tinkerer and sorry if you're only doing thaumcraft stuff, but TT is so great, that you can't play thaumcraft without it...
Looks interesting. I didn't know this existed. Our addons seem to have similar taglines but they're actually very different from what I can see. So, since we're not competing, it's safe for me to say "Good luck!" Seriously though, good luck. This looks pretty cool.
Are you still working on this, did you forget about it or something, I mean: there's no pics, no new information, progress update nor a released version WE WANT INFO, WHAT ARE YOU ADDING, PICTURES AND STUFF
With all the respect,
DoctorX
I understand; a lot of development has been going on, rest assured on that! All of the Baubles are complete, everything I've been wanting to do w/ chests is complete, and more stuff is on the way! The reason why I'm being frugal w/ information is because I want Magistics to be the first Thaumcraft addon that's immersive, just like Thaumcraft itself! No one complains about Thaumcraft spoiling what it does, but oddly enough expect to know everything that an addon for it does! In all respect TC does have a broad past, so people mostly have a general idea, and that's what I'm aiming to accomplish by leaking a tiny amount of information!
Yes, that is a reasonable observation, and don't worry, I will not be using the old TC textures!
