Rare enough that if you were trying to figure out which block it is you might give up and move on, not so rare as you seem to be describing. I definitely don't have numbers, but going through a whole stack of one of the block types with nothing would make me wonder if there were some sort of configuration problem.
Stupid questions: you do have both Thaumcraft and Ex Aliquo installed as well as Ex Nihilo, right?
The nodes which appear in a void world are about 3 blocks above the void due to the way Thaumcraft tries to place nodes near ground level/in caves. Did you check way down at y=3?
Yes I have them all installed.
I opted to go into cheat mode and creative and do a flyaround, one was near the void. No nodes to be found. It's never regenned them for me :/ even in a preexisting world before the mods installed, I alweays had to go into new chunks to see any nodes or trees and whatnot.
Another minor Thaumcraft integration bug: There's a research for Thaumium Hammers which requires research, but even with it unlearned it's possible to craft a thaumium hammer from 2 sticks and 2 thaumium.
The same should be true of vanilla Thaumcraft tools and stuff, I believe. I really should use my newfangled magic to stick Thaum hammers into Thaum tools :/

I think it is...but their descriptions unlock with the thaumium research...it just felt weird to spend research points to unlock a description of something I could make without the research; I feel like Thaumcraft usually has such researches unlocked from the start.
That would work, although I can see the complaints of people not knowing they exist already. Or you could go the Magic Bees route and make it cost 1 Perditio or something. Or not worry about it.
It's that time again, everyone! Update time! The changelog is small, but internally, it took a lot of work. It's available Link Removed
I said Hay, hay, hay, hay hay! I said hay! It's a Hay Crook!
Really for real this time added MFR Rubber to the composting
Added a ton of crops to the composting list. Hello Pam&Co
Added a default-off option for Thaumcraft to make certain wands a tiny bit tougher to obtain.
Found hellfeesh again :V
Should no longer require TCon. Sorry about that, peoples~
So I don't want to contradict your judgment for balancing but Tcon just sorta made crooked scythes look paltry with silky scythes now shearing in a 3x3.

Silk Touch (silky or whatever) is better for making dirt, crooked is better if you're looking for saplings or silkworms. By the time you're putting either on a scythe you're not desperate for that early dirt, so you can use whichever is situationally more useful.

Crooked scythes are off by default though due to balance reasons.
how out of line would it be to inquire after the possibility of extending block hammering to compressed cobble>compressed gravel>compressed sand, adding a compressed dust and hammering compressed sand to compressed dust in the presence of extrautilities? most of that can be done with minetweaker for in machine processing, but in world processing and making an appropriate impact on tool durability use and/or hunger are still unavailable via such a method.
[thats single compressed for 9 of each per operation comparatively, don't think it'd be sane to try higher compressed material levels, so 1 short of a full stack per 7 operations plus craft to compress and decompress vs 63 operations for the same results. i'd consider inquiring after adding same to sieving but, i don't think there's any sane or elegant way to handle that].
anywho accepted or ignored, still great work, and thank you for it - as well as your time considering this suggestion.

Using compressed things would be a cheap way to extend the life of a tool. I do like the thought as a time saver, but the process would be too cheaty with durability
Currently it is only obtainable as a mineable ore. What about iron block in a barrel of witch water?
Barrel things are "modes" on the barrel, and those are currently hardcoded. If/when they become not hardcoded, then I can entertain barrel methods. But most likely I'll end up making a new item and block for Dark Iron to be consistent
I ran into a big issue.
When I used the cubical as a mini smeltery it was working fine at first. I had a casting table with a ingot mold made from gold.. I was making other ingots when suddenly it filled the casting table up as if it were trying to make a blank plate. I had to break the table to get it and the mold back, but after that is when it all broke.
The cubical would not accept any metals. I broke and replaced it all and still it wouldn't accept it. The table was in place, the spout was there, but it wouldn't do squot. I still am unable to use it.
It also seems to ignore all ore types but the basics. so stuff like osmium is ignored, even in the big smeltery.
Also, it be nice if when the cubical is being used as a mini forge it told you how many bars were in it, much like the smeltery does so we know just how much is in it and don't waste some.

If Osmium has a forge fluid version, then I'll add a smelting option for it.
Are you sure you didn't accidentally remove the ingot cast when you were pouring out ingots? And which kind of ore gravel/sand/dust were you trying to put into the crucible when it broke?
It was aluminum, and no I didn't remove the cast, I was standing there watching it pour and after about three bars it just filled the whole thing then didn't settle. when I broke the table the cast also poped out. Replaced and it wouldn't continue to poor. broke the cubical, replaced it and the spout, and it wouldn't accept any metals.
I've moved onto a full sized smeltery now after such a bug.
But yeah the cubical NEEDS a display like the smeltery does to tell us how many bars worth of metals is in it. Else it's guess work and you cant place in another metal type until it's empty. so if you have a nugget worth, and sense theres ANNOYINGLY no nugget cast, welp.. you become stuck.

Ya, but i think that is great for balance, it encourages you to get a proper smeltery, and it wouldnt make sence cause the whole point is its a makeshift smeltery and it doesnt have a smeltery controller... just my oppinion though

If I'm rude to you, just tell me. Don't take it too personally. Well, unless you were being stupid. If you were, DO take it personally.
Candles count as torches. Nitor is as good as a lit furnace. But they're so pretty~
I'll have to look at the new crafting recipe and all, but possibly

Seriously, people. Get out of my plans folder
May I suggest The Plant Mega Pack if it's not to big?
