Nope. He used equipment to change his size. Here is brief hstory of character named Atom:
The Atom is a legacy super-hero name, primarily associated with the ability to shrink in size. The original was Al Pratt, a diminutive man with superhuman strength; he was a founding member of the Justice Society. Ray Palmer took the name during the Silver Age, a physics professor at Ivy University who developed equipment to shrink himself down to subatomic levels while maintaining regular mass. Palmer has been a member of the Justice League, Teen Titans,Suicide Squad and Indigo Tribe. Adam Cray also briefly took the mantle using stolen equipment, and it was later used by scientist Ryan Choi until his death. Al Pratt was created by Ben Flinton and Bill O'Connor, first appearing in All-American Comics #19. Ray Palmer was created re-envisioning the concept by Gardner Fox and Gil Kane, first appearing in Showcase #34.
And here is Wikipedia entry about Ray Palmer:
The Atom introduced during the Silver Age of comic books in Showcase #34 (1961) is physicist and university professor Dr. Raymond Palmer, Ph.D. (He was named for real-life science fiction writer Raymond A. Palmer, who was himself quite short.) After stumbling onto a mass of white dwarf star matter that had fallen to Earth, he fashioned a lens which allowed him to shrink down to subatomic size. Originally, his size and molecular density abilities derived from the white dwarf star material of his costume, controlled by mechanisms in his belt, and later by controls in the palms of his gloves. Much later, he gained the innate equivalent powers within his own body. After the events of Identity Crisis, Ray shrank himself to microscopic size and disappeared. Finding him became a major theme of the Countdown year long series and crossover event.
OK now I get but eventually he did get the powers to shrink without the lens, but I thought that after he was exposed he got those powers he just created the lens to help with the powers
Glad we got that figured out, as an update this new netty system is kicking my butt, tempted to stay on 1.6 until I can figure it out, but I'll keep trying for a bit, not getting done as soon as I hoped, sorry.
So if I were to say for instance that I'm back from the dead and have been working on a 1.8 version of this mod for a week from scratch that has a whole new concept, a skill tree, and some other features, what heroes would anyone like added to the mod before I release it in a month or so?
I updated the main post with a few of the features that currently exist in the version I'm working on, and listed some upcoming features, and I'm thinking about releasing an early alpha soon just for anyone who checks out the thread to see a concept version of the mod.
I'm liking how you actually need to level up to become a hero. How will the non-powered/vigilante characters get their weapons/gadgets? I'm assuming crafting recipes.
I'm still working on some ideas that I can make this work, I'd like to stay away from crafting recipes, but if absolutely necessary I will implement them. Trick arrows will likely be made from using a skill while holding a regular arrow, I don't see any reason to make my own. Batarangs and Wingdings are another story. I've been toying with the idea of giving them as a reward for purchasing a skill, similar to how the costumes work now, but then I would have to make them limitless. With a cooldown I don't think this is a terrible idea. It's not like Batman ever runs out of batarangs in the comics.
I just completely reworked the skill system from scratch to make it cleaner, easier to add powers, and support custom textures instead of the ugly items I've been using as placeholders. I think I plan to release an alpha version when I have about 15 superheroes, and since I already made 5 in a short amount of time with the old, mangled skill system, it should hopefully take no more than a week to reach this number with the new, clean version!
I've never played around with this mod is it like you unlock the path Scientists, Emotional, etc. and then you chose your superpowers and based on what you chose you get a hero?
Also I'm pretty sure yellow uncharges green not red.

Basically, you unlock the skills through points gained from mob drops. You choose a path to start on, and start unlocking powers in that path. Some of the skills give you rewards in the form of parts of a superhero suit. For instance, the first speed force skill gives you the reward of Kid Flash's cowl. Eventually, Kid Flash's path leads you into Flash's path, and certain skills in his path will unlock his suit as well! Through this method, you can essentially only be one superhero, but it isn't connected to any suit, much like the heroes in comics. There will, however, be a way to reset, but it will likely have some sort of cost to keep people from flipping back and forth between heroes.
Yellow doesn't do anything to green. I'm not sure about Red, because I haven't read many comics with the Red Lanterns(even though I hear they're REALLY good), but after research I've found that doesn't do anything either. I'm probably wrong though.
Yellow can break down green constructs if the green lantern doesn't have complete control over his fear. Trainees have a weakness in that their rings can't affect anything yellow at all, (not just limited to yellow lantern light). Red Lanterns(Who do have an awesome comic line in the new 52 whatever DC is calling itself now) can drain the charge of a green ring. All of the lights have in depth interactions with each other, I just listed a few examples that I would implement quickly. Another interaction is that Green Lanterns can drain the indigo light of compassion, similar to the effect Red Lanterns have on them! I hope to add all the interactions, but the first few releases will likely just be the lantern's abilities.
Will the Non-Human have a Kryptonian Branch? I'd really like to see Kryptonian abilities be based off sun light. =D
Most definitely, I'm open to suggestions on how much Kryptonian's abilities should be based on sunlight, because in the New 52, all the kryptonians except Superboy from Formerly-Earth-Prime store and expend sunlight very slowly, except for that new power that superman just got where he lets it all out at once. So it will likely be a mechanic, but I don't know how prevalent it will be.
Will the powers and suits be separate? Like being able to use Superman's powers without wearing his getup?
And I personally can't wait to use the powers of Kryptonians! =D
Oh!! Idea! Maybe later on you could make a Krypton Dimension! Any player can go there but Kryptonian's lose their powers while in this dimension. A message would say "You have returned to the place of your birth! Strangely enough you start to feel weaker!"
Kryptonite ore would be bountiful in the Krypton Dimension and there would be very large towns of Kryptonian villagers.

Thanks, I want this to be a journey, hence "Path of a Hero" even for people with already established worlds who might have a lot of items.
This looks really coolio
