This mod has been abandoned from all appearances, so don't count on an update coming ever unless someone decides to recreate this mod from scratch. The mod author has been unresponsive for a very long time now. Sorry dude.

The Author is my brother, I keep in contact with him and I'm pretty sure he is finished with this mod. As for taking it over, I could ask him what he thinks about it and have him post here in a few days. It would be cool to see somebody take this over or add it to chococraft.

Yeah ask him for me. I might be interested. By the way, nice profile pic. Is that from a mod? The mog.
So I did get a chance to speak with Digidigi. I mentioned that there is interest in further development of Magitek Mechs either by a person or possibly even chocobocraft. At first it sounded like he might patch it or update it. but after he went through the code he decided it may be a pain to pick back up.
He is considering releasing the source but I'm not sure when he will do it and if it will be public or not. I do know that he was working on some interesting ideas to expand Magitek Mechs. I'm just not sure how far along he got.
One of his ideas was to have TunnelArmor. (A ridable mech that digs tunnels thru earth and rock!) It made an appearance in FF6 as well.
Personally I think the way Digidigi was handling the mod was brilliant and I would hate for it to be resurrected and then not work right or not at all :<
I've never really written a piece of code myself but like a drawing or painting, I'm sure its difficult to just give it away to let somebody else tinker with.
Former fan of the mod here, glad to see people trying to pick it up. I am a coder, and not entirely experienced with minecraft coding, but if there is someway I can help, lemme know.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Look up. You see that big white ball? Yeah, that's me.

I'll try to get more info if I can.
I can host a website ( uberverse.net ) and put together a team of developers to create something open source for the MC community. Open source is the only way to go unless you have selfless contributors that don't mind NOT getting any monetary gain from adfly links. Patreon is an idea for them and so is donation buttons thru PayPal too. But that's only if DigiDigi thinks they are worth mentioning and donations in his forum post. DigiDigi can choose members of the dev team if he prefers. All credits can be his for the original ideas of this mod. https://trello.com is a good platform to organize a team too. Just suggestions. I have basic skills in programming with Forge 1.7.10, texturing, & I'm a YouTuber too. And we have 2 others who have shown interest in helping already. (see other later posts in this thread) I'm just suggesting ideas here is all.

What coding language? C++? Java? You may be a help to this project if the owner wants help developing it or wants a dev team to continue it for him. I don't want to speak for him of course. It's up to you DigiDigi! But Helios742, you can PM me on this if you want.
I haven't worked on this project in a year, so it is quite a mess to update. Probably to the point that starting from scratch would be faster than patching it.
I've opened the source repo for the 1.6 version here. (Tabula format models will be added soon.)
Use it freely, it is unlicensed and public domain.
But, I still cannot spare time to continue working on this. If Hero887 or anyone else would like to take it on, feel free. Just be aware that it may be an effort. Can't guarantee any help but I may offer some suggestions. This mod was my first and mostly put together from patchwork and twine. Most of it is inherited code, tweaked to the point of functioning how I wanted it.
I love the concept myself, but I can't design much more beyond what it currently is. Sorry for leaving this in the air for so long.

Good to hear from you DigiDigi! I understand you don't have the time to develop the mod. It happens. I am interested in taking on this project, although I currently have a mod I am working on. It is a Final Fantasy based mod too Link Removed. Perhaps I will implement your code and Mechs to my mod or start a new mod using your code as reference. All original credits are yours of course, I won't ever claim it was my idea or all my code.
Whatever I do, I'll be sure to let you know DigiDigi! PM me and we can stay in touch. Thanks for opening this up to the public. Perhaps the MC community (or just I) can do something awesome with your original work!
If anyone you are interested in helping or contributing to this mod, PM me and maybe we can get something started!
Currently there is no development on this mod right at this time. DigiDigi has given me permission to develop it but I have not started. Possible integration of the concept ideas of this mod may come to my mod - Materiacraft - but uncertain this time. If the mod is updated, expect it to be at least 1.7.10 or higher.
It will when I can learn how to do it and have the time to first update it and then into my mod. See: Link Removed That's my mod and updates will be mentioned here.
My actual username is Veryek. Not LightRealm. I am an artist that is currently planning on making manga/slideshow videos about Golden Star Frontier. Which is a fantasy world that I made up.
Possibly. But I am going to have to learn how to code it first for 1.7.10. I haven't even started working on it. But when I do, I have been given permission to I add it to my mod. See: Link Removed

I was playing around with some item ids when I happened to find a little something interesting, I found a spawn egg for a Moogle that would allow Waila to tell which mod it came from... Before I go and open the mod and search around for some texture files may I ask if this is a secret thing or something? It doesn't appear in the creative tab for me.

I have one really important tip for anyone carrying on the legacy of a mod in my opinion. If you are going to use features of a good mod in your own mod for MC then a little something would be absolutely great to go along with it. Along with your mod, make an updated version of this mod with nothing extra or less. Lots of people don't like mods with ore generation and if you're anything like me you search up new mods for fun to possibly add to your collection to play in your survival singleplayer but you're put off by mods with ores because you have huge areas of loaded chunks. This mod was little since it only added a few items with not a million uses, just two for each in two crafting recipes.
It could also help your popularity rather than making a mod with tons of useless armor and ores which has been done by way too many people. Also lots of people do love mods like that if they only use a couple mods that add things like that.
This mod has been abandoned from all appearances, so don't count on an update coming ever unless someone decides to recreate this mod from scratch. The mod author has been unresponsive for a very long time now. Sorry dude.

Nice Mod!!!

secret? not really, more of an easter egg than anything really. its just a mob that doesn't do much of anything... similar to an early villager mob.
its also my avatar if anyone is interested in what it looks like :/.
