If EE had been abandoned, I'd have a bit more support for this mod, but as it hasn't, this is just an idiotic attempt towards fame. I wouldn't be surprised to see the wrath of pahimar eventually.
It's one thing to take ideas and tweak them to your own liking... it's another entirely to take ALL the ideas and regurgitate them in a mod with a subtle name change. If you like the mechanics of EE2, then try to create something unique using another approach.
And FFS, at least have the respect to ask the mod author, regardless of whether or not you're breaching copyright laws.
Pahimar and x3n0ph0b3 may not own the rights to the idea.
However, your energy collectors are using exactly the same texture, as is the alchemical chest.
Some of the items and/or blocks inside of EE2 are not from FMA so with duplicating the mod, you're breaking copyright laws.
Not to mention the name you've chose. Making a direct link back to Equivalent Exchange.
Learn to accept change. Pahimar is working on EE3 and it will be just as good as EE2, just a little less overpowered.
Well if pahimar denies permission, I will stopAlchemical chest is not using the same texture.

Mine is stone with black outline and a green top, EE2 is dark grey with black outline and a blue top. And that is not a Alchemical Chest it is a condenser.
Yes, that is very similar. Although if you check the sides, they are much more rough in his textures.
Give him a break, hes giving it a go. It's always nice to see people giving new things a try. I've got to admit though, you've got to change some of the items names; you can't just have a 100% replacement for a mod like this.
I don't want to get into a war with anybody here. I will not reply if somebody starts acting up.
Thanks Adam, for liking and subbing and for all this support. All the names will change if Pahimar declines permission, as will the mod name and alot of other stuff, if he grants permission we continue as it

That's like stealing someone's car and saying you will stop driving it when they say you aren't allowed to.
You should obtain permission prior to starting something like this.
Small texture changes mean little to nothing to developers.
There is thousands of ways you can implement alchemy into Minecraft, why not try something new and *original*? Stop trying for fame, make something unique and the fame will come. But copying other developers styles and pretty much duplicating their mod...it's going to get you nowhere fast.
Also, no one is arguing. It's called been honest and open.
Well it feels like everyone is against this mod. If pahimar gives me permission then its all ok, as I said alot of times now. If he dosen't then I WILL stop.
Don't feel too depressed about all the negativity.
There has been a lot of fighting and arguing going on over Equivalent Exchange for quite some time now... and as with most conflicts, the longer it drags out, the more polarized the opposing sides become.
It is that thing called human nature we all share. I'm by no means immune either.
So I say go for it.
If you like playing this way and are willing to go through all the effort (and yes people, it is effort) of programming it, then good for you.
At the same time, be aware that while you use the name Equivalent Exchange in any fashion, you will also be plagued by the emotional baggage that said name has accrued over time.
I suggest picking a new name. Nobody needs that sort of baggage and frustration.
Heck, you should have seen the kind of grief that Pahimar had to deal with when he announced EE3.
Heck, call it "The Magical Exchange Market Extraordinaire!" Mod.
Or "The This-For-That" Mod.
Or what-not.
On a legal note, there are no patent laws whatsoever for patenting an idea, and such patent attempts are generally baseless in courts of law, with the possible exception of the USA... but that is another discussion alltogether.
Sidenote:
Patents protect designs and methods (Very hard to argue/apply when it comes to software).
Copyright protects expressions (Code/textures/models/sound/music/etc. <- This is the main one when it comes to software)
Trademarks protect brands (Product names/slogans/logos/etc.)
Also note that Copyright is the only one that you need not register/apply for. Both patents and trademarks need you to legally register (at astronomical costs) with governing bodies.
Don't feel too depressed about all the negativity.

No. I don't care if you weren't here. You sir, have made my day.You are the type of person that makes me think: I can do this. Then everyone else just slams badness etc. at the mod. You are just so positive. For you!
I have to fully agree with UberWaffe, You are undoubtedly going to get a lot of flak for this mod seeing as it is related to another extremely popular mod. Best thing you can do I's ignore the posters constantly claiming that this mod is infringing on copyright.
I really hope your mod succeeds as EE2 was an awesome mod.
Don't become discouraged by the inevitable rage that will follow as your mod gets bigger (As I am sure it will).
(On a side note I'm really sick and tired of people going around saying things like "You cant make this mod it was somebody elses idea" and "But youre infringing on copyright", Seriously get over it as long as tattyseal is willing to cooperate if the mod author gets involved there should be no issue)

Ok Everyone. Decided to drop Project EE. And start with another magic mod. Wizardry. When I have some working blocks I will open a new thread and link it in this one. Until then you may give me ideas in THIS thread for the mod.

That's nice and all, but we have no idea what the mod is going to be about, I mean, wizardry itself can go a million different ways. Can you give us an idea about what YOU want from the mod?

Basically a combination of everything like there will be wands and different dimensions, transmutation, alot of stuff.

Sounds cool, but it will need to be different somehow. It can't just be WANDS! and DIMENSIONS! you know? I'll brainstorm for ideas and post them later.
i would like to mention i saw someone saying that you can not make a thing called a Philosopher's_stone
when that was not pahimars or xenos idea heres proof http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philosopher's_stone

Curse PremiumWell, can you just stop arguing over this. If I get denied permission it won't continue. And never will.
However, If I do get permission, it will continue.
Just please, stop arguing.
