The question is, how did luffy do that in water? If I recall correctly high friction is achieved by rubbing something to a surface really fast. How did luffy do this without any surface?

you know..gear second is not friction at all...it's blood pumping (doping in real life)..tho..in real life you're basically injecting more red cells into your blood to enchants the speed and endurance of the body..it's used in sports WIKI

No matter if there's particles or not, make just it follow us. (the circles). Work also for those things can be seen in smp too, like suna, gasu and moku's particles.
Magu Magu no mi (HIGH PRIORITY) :
-Make that we can go faster on lava (using fishman system in water).
Yami Yami no mi (HIGHEST PRIORITY) :
-Make that Kurouzu bind BOTH potions dfs effect and ability, but not remove it, so they are not usable for 10 seconds.
-Make that we can go through darkness. Normal walk, standing on darkness block. If we jump, we'll stand on the higher one.
If we sneak, go to the lower one.
-Add black particles and void particles for projectiles of liberation and dark matter.
Gura Gura no mi (HIGH PRIORITY) :
-change kabutowari to a projectile : exactly same effect, but with a huge range instead of exploding under us.
-Make that any weapon can have a gura effect : when hit a player or a mob, small explosion. With a right click, launch a bit bigger one, like a exploding projectile. Huge range too.
-Make that Kaishin have a growing sphere before to be launched (would seem like charging, but it's just that it's not launched immediately) and then, be launched. Pass through player, deal huge damage (the same as Kaishin, 50), and explode once
touched block, not before.
Ope ope no mi :
-Adding shambles : kinda like kagemusha : select a player (hit, a right shift click, something) then, with a right click, exchange the position.
-Remove counter shock and add tact (LOW PRIORITY): make on a range the block going higher. If possible, make that they fall as well, affected by gravity until they touch the ground. No clue if it's possible or not.
-Fix the bug with mes that make we can't hurt a player who have ate a logia. In fact, we can take that heart, but right click doesn't do anything.
Doku Doku no mi: (HIGHEST PRIORITY)
Make venom road : as we keep to right click on it, create just behind the player a 3x3 blocks of poisons around him (he's the center).
Maybe make the player faster while running on poison. But in this case,
be careful that he doesn't fall while running because creation of poison
isn't as fast as needed.
-Once Dragon is done with Hydra, change the way of working. More like a projectile launched far than a meigo like poisonned. Of course, create also a lot of poison where it crashes, no matter if it is a player or a block. And be touched by it obviously poison us, and give nausea.
-Make that when chloroball hit a ennemy, leave also poison around.
Tori Tori no mi, model phoenix : (HIGHEST PRIORITY)
-Give the old regeneration as high as before. For the marineford fight we'll do, we'll ****ing need it.
-Add a move (finally ! ^^), dunno if it's possible, though : make with that, when we hit a player (left click, not right)
we "grip" a player or a mob, so we can move him. He can't move, but can launch attack and basically use whatever item he want. Just a right click to release him once (or left, whatever you want). No cooldown, it's "disable and enable" way.
Bomu Bomu no mi :
-Add a yasakani like move, in sure weakest.
-Add a punch on the ground : explode around him except the block he's standing on. Try (but not the priority) to make it look like a circular way : just eight block around him, and then those around him, and continue this way. Big cooldown.
Yuki Yuki no mi : (with that, it'll be a real cheated fruit)
-Change Kamakura : Instead of create a wall in front of you, make it look like a kind of Ice ball : but twice smaller than room, no matter if it touch a player or not, create the same. Not deal big damage. And use custom snow block that have the obsidian
resistance. If possible, that would be great, make that only the yuki user can go through those block (like the ope block before you change it, but the actual for others), it would be great.
-Change Yuki rabbit : instead of a trail of projectiles, make those fall from the sky for five seconds, like a rain of those.
If it's hard, just make ball snow fall from the sky. Deal damage when it touch. Resistance for the yuki user, of course. Also add on those, but with a very small amount of the particles used of partisan for the hie hie. Do it in a radius of six blocks.
-Add Yuki Kiseijuu : kinda like sagari No Ryusei, but look as a big wave of snow that fall from the sky (but it's a projectile though). When it touch the ground, spread progressively those custom snow blocks, and those touched by it have damage and slowness.
-Add Yuki no Tempest : not sure if you can, but try to modelise a snow tempest in the zone. Those in have nause nausea, slowness
but still can move (I insist on that). If direct hit on yuki user (punch or sword), something direct, it'll have full slowness and
damage.
Moku Moku no mi :
-Make that White snake have more projectile, like white out.
-Add Moku no Nami : Spread smoke around that will stay around you for five second and deal damage everytime. Give also slowness.
-Add Moku no Numachi : create a dome of white custom block (five radius). Same properties as air, everyone can go through, but be in will totally
blind the opponent, and display white on his screen, while the moku user will see just in kinda slightly more white, but can see all fine.
Noro Noro no mi :
-Make that the beam shoot six projectiles instead of one. Same cooldown as now.
-Add the punch attack : it's a item that you use to hit, like a sword. Deal four heart or damage. Give slowness too.
-Add the foxy's bomb : it's a projectile which explode after a aleatory time. Obvioulsy, explode as well when it hit either a block a or à entity.
-Add the sword : but instead of à usual sword, make it like a projectile, kinda like slave arrow, that you can aim in this way, but looking as one projectile. Give slowness and deal four heart of damage. But give it the shortest cooldown and make it long enough for that when the attack finish, the cooldown is done, like the actual weakest projectile of the Pika. It's a sword after all.
Kilo Kilo no mi :
This one is peculiar.
-You'll add a move that will increase you weight or decrease, just that. (If you have hard time to this, I'd suggest you to fix the volt vari, i'll come
to the goro anyway). You'll have 1, 100, 500 ,1000 and 10000 height.
With 1, you'll have great speed, and high jump, like the gear second. But every damage will give you a knocback, or push you back if it's too hard
to do.
With 10, same as before, but more balanced. Jump low, speed too.
With 100, just a little speed, and the rest normal.
500 is the standard weight we have, the most balanced. Everything is normal.
With 1000, a bit of slowness, a bit of resistance, and you hit harder.
With 10000, a kind of tekkai : you can't move, but resist to everything. Also hit harder.
-Add a punch item : the strenght of it will depend of your actual weight.
-Make the move that make you fall on the ground make you automatically switch to 10000 kilos. Also deal huge damage to the area, level of overheat.
-Remove the move that make you jump higher, since it would be useless.
Goro goro no mi : (HIGH PRIORITY)
-Fix the volt vari. It was awesome. Try to add lightning particles. If you can't, just for that, take those of minegicka.
-Make that Raigo have a way bigger model, and fall from the sky, like sagari (slower than that, though). When touch something, deal 60 damage and deal to the area as much damage when you use dark matter on the ground and then liberation (radius of 7 seven block) by a big explosion.
-Totally change the El Thor : create costum blue blocks, that contact deal damage (8 heart) and give slowness and nausea to a entity. Deal as much damage on area than Overheat. And you'll have a switch mod with right shift click : in a way, it's like a actual. You target a block, and when you
right click, create instantly a radius of three blocks (6 blocks for diameter, so), from the sky to the ground. It doesn't fall, it is created instantly, and disappear after three seconds. So, It might not be really buggy, since only block that touch the ground will create damage to the area. Can be used to touch flying opponent, but do NOT explode when it touch a entity. And with a right shift click, act as a cannon, but horizontal. Create instantly those blue block until it touch a block (3 radius, and stop creating news after that), that'll create explosion (like overheat on damage area) and deal damage to every entity in it's path.
-Add Volt Amaru : turn you in the giant (ask Dragon for the model), it'll create aleatory thunder all around you, one every five seconds. During the time you're morphed.
You should make the bane bane no mi better. In the show, Bellamy used it like an absolute boss. It was amazing. He used it to spring around and shoot from building to building. In the mod, to be be honest, it is super crappy. You should make it so that it has Spring snipe for one. And so that his Spring hopper move is actually like in the show. It's a good idea, but I honestly think that it woldn't be as possible/easy in MC as in the show.
It really wouldn't. If you know anything about minecraft modding (or coding in general) you would know that it would not be extremely hard to replicate.
Step 1: Launching a player forward in whatever direction they are facing has been done in tons of plugins and mods. All you have to do it apply something like knock-back 5 to a player's back so that they fly forward. (with no damage)
Step 2: Detecting when a player touches anything has also been done in lots of mods. As soon as a wall or any block is detected, it would do the same thing as step 1 in the opposite direction from the wall.
Step 3: Apply a time limit to this effect and add in some cool sounds every time you hit something.
Step 4: Enjoy having a bad-ass move like in the anime
Note: This is how I would do it. If someone else would do something else, please say so so that it can improve the mod.

you can place it on the ground with shift+right click and it would be an entity, and if you hit it it adapts that amount of damage. it would have infinite health.
Fire Dial
You can place it like the impact and if you set fire on the fire dial entity for some time, it would spout fire for that amount of time.of course it is resistant to fire.

honestly i dont have any ideas for this.
Reject Dial
it would be the same as impact but 10 times the impact applied. (e.g you punch it. it deals 1 damage to the Reject. when you use it it deals 10 damage.)
General ideas
You would pick dials that are on the floor up with shift + right click.
if you add skypiea, dials would spawn as the entity form on skypiea shores.
you would use dials with rightclick like you normally do.
the impact/reject would give you recoil damage (half the damage dealt to target if you use it.)
Personally I'd like to see Second & Third Gear be a toggle-able ability. But the penalty of using Second Gear is that it uses up the hunger bar. Like in the manga Luffy was really hungry after using Second Gear for the first time. And while using Third Gear you gain slowness and with the morph mod's help it could make your fist giant!
And finally I personally think Second Gear should give a strength boost. Using the move increases Luffy's over-all power. He just happened to learn about Soru and added it to the fighting style.

honestly i dont have any ideas for this.
Reject Dial
it would be the same as impact but 10 times the impact applied. (e.g you punch it. it deals 1 damage to the Reject. when you use it it deals 10 damage.)
General ideas
You would pick dials that are on the floor up with shift + right click.
if you add skypiea, dials would spawn as the entity form on skypiea shores.
you would use dials with rightclick like you normally do.
the impact/reject would give you recoil damage (half the damage dealt to target if you use it.)

And I personally think that Second Gear's speed boost should be the same as Soru. The more Doriki you can the bigger the speed boost. =D

And finally I personally think Second Gear should give a strength boost. Using the move increases Luffy's over-all power. He just happened to learn about Soru and added it to the fighting style.
