hopefully i wont be starting a flame war here with the already exsisting mountain of stupid questions but,
is the current version of this mob talker mod compatible with the latest version of minecraft?
of course, from what i know, the latest version is 1.7.2 and from what i read, this mod supports v-1.6x
unless i've read wrong, or i haven't looked hard enough, im completely confused, and searching the internet makes it worse.

The title of this thread says is all, only Minecraft 1.6.
Since Forge is not yet updated to Minecraft 1.7, it is not possible for MobTalker2 to support Minecraft 1.7 either.
The original MobTalker has been suspended - the mod author stopped developing.
Suspended, perhaps, mezzodrinker, but not lost. The original Github repository is still open, if untouched for the last year. I imagine, MN12Laboratories, you may want to fork the repository, much as I did, to work on updating it.

Nothing against flammarilva, he had the fantastic idea for the original Mob Talker, but no one should be using such code and modding style. That is why MobTalker2 is a rewrite instead of a patch/bugfix/port.

I did make a new folder, placed the script files in the folder, made sure it was in the resourcepacks, and it still gives me, "You didn't write me a script. To install scripts, see www.mobtalker.com/wiki. Now stand still so I can kill you."

What am I doing wrong?
From what you wrote, the answer is quite clear: You didn't create the MobTalker2.pack file.

I'm not making it. I'm trying to install a script. I even looked at the wiki, there wasn't anything where you put the files. I've tryied putting it in reasourepacks, and it didn't even see the script. Is this a bug I wonder?

If you do not place the scripts inside the default folder (MobTalker2_Scripts), it needs this file. mezzodrinker for example explicitly states that you have to create it yourself when installing his scripts.
For anyone wondering about the long silence and lack of updates:
I'm not dead In fact, I'm working really hard to get the next big features ready - for both MobTalker2 and MobTalkerScript. Those will take a while because they need some heavy changes but the result will be worth it

Well the original images currently included in MobTalker2 may serve that image
