I'm in the middle of setting up Residence right now. I was gonna use Towny (Been using that since Bukkit was born) but it doesn't work for 1.6, and I think residence will be more flexible for people to choose any size of plot. Gonna get some sort of block logging plugin too.
And yes, this mod and FlenixRoads are both required. There are download links on the IP thread on my forums.
This does work for 1.6.2 right? The reason im asking is because on planet minecraft, I saw the mod for 1.5.2, and plus the folder i downloaded had the same update. It's 1.6.2 both here and on PMC, but it was only updated on both yesterday so that might be why you're confused. But yay, butter!

Well I really am stunned by how much you added already...
Although I have seen allot of unfinished stuff I havent found a bug yet.
yeah I'll be adding explanations into my towers ground floor and moving the spawn inside. There's not much to grasp though really, the only rules are keep the theme in cities to modern city, and roads in the city are to be 9-wide. If you want to build away from the city make sure you go at least 1000 blocks then build whatever- another city is fine but needs to be an amount of land between them
For the majority of the week I'll also be on IRC, #silvania (esper.net)- Chat on the official mod server is linked so if you don't use IRC just log into the server and you can talk to me there.
If there are villagers that are going to live a life of crime, then it would cool to see police who attack/arrest those who attack the player or other NPC's. Just a thought, I know it would be difficult to implement.
In my opinion you could partner with other people to make this mod better.
ex.
computers - computercraft
railroad - railcraft
and you could find more to fit your needs.
I've actually spoken to Dan about CC integration already, he wasn't interested. I don't see any benefit of partnering with CovertJaguar though - What benefit would I get code-wise from working with Railcraft?
The only time I could see that being useful is for city generation, and I don't need to work with him to add RC support

Police are planned. I've actually got a pretty cool idea for them - Players will have a "wanted status" and once they get this, until they're killed or captured that wanted status means all police will try and get them.
City generation will have a pre-defined jail cell (Players can define this cell too), and the police will teleport the player to the nearest cell.

I don't have any plans to change the length of day, because I've not really decided on NPC scripting yet. At least for now, NPCs will be working 24/7, but in the future I might make them walk home at night or something. It's certainly not something I'll do soon though
Initially, the economy will be pretty static. I would love to make it dynamic eventually, at least for single-player, but I don't know how well that would really work for a server (It'd be very easy for player A to give player B money and ask him to buy things, because B gets it cheaper than A as he has less money or something)
Well there are still some rendering bugs (Objects disappear; The escalator is bigger than the block, ..) and many textures are missing.
Though I like the fact that the Laptop is running Chrome and Minecraft

Remula is an awesome tech mod with loads of new worlds to visit and things to kill. It's very early WIP but I started it way before FlenixCities!
I've been posting more info on my forums about it. Here's a thread about the world I'm aiming to get complete soonish. I want to release a pre-alpha in the next week or two, but if there's enough interest it will be sooner!
alrite those NPC's you wer talking about will they be infectable by zombyse AKA zombye apocolips AKA end of the world.
alrite important stuf: can you hack youre way into an ATM (well will you be able to) because on all those hard core survival servers people will want to steall some cash and that will be imposible if it all safe and sound in a ATM.
when you add that terrain generashen of citys and NPC's will the criminal NPC's be able to go in 1 day and rob a bank for the mater i be able to do that?
