I've seen your mod, it was in your forge siggy so I thought I'd take a look a few days ago. I don't mind other road mods, so long as you don't do the lowered bounding box road method I've got then I wont consider it a ripoff
EDIT: The bounding boxes are good, but the collision boxes are only 2 tall. I set the bounding boxes to
0F, 0F, 0F, 1F, 7F, 1F in this method:

If you're going larger than 1x1x1 and want accurate collision boxes, you need to use gag blocks. There's a tutorial on the Forge wiki by nait, it's called "making multi-block strucutre" or something along those lines.

Right, I'm quite close to fixing up the rendering as mentioned previously. Check it:
Those are the arrow blocks. Albeit not the most popular of all the blocks, but just an easy target for me to test with. Everything you see is a single block ID.
According to the list I made, the count of IDs used by actual road blocks will be dropping from 41, to 9. This is good.
As soon as the render code is finished, I'll release 0.4.0, then crack on with crafting recipes.
When that's done, it'll be Beta 0.5! At that point, it'll be bug hunting, taking ideas, fine tuning things. Then we can move to a proper release, 1.0, and move this party to the Mods threads and hopefully get some more interest/feedback on what I can do to improve further.

- Names

Also, I don't have a working development build right now as my computer is having some issues, so I can't test the compiled version to check it has compiled properly. It works fine in Eclipse but I don;'t know if it will work in-game, so please let me know if you run into any issues!
Finally, this includes the update I mentioned before which changes all your block IDs, so you will lose any currently made roads. It also means it SHOULD work absolutely fine with WorldEdit now- but I can't be sure, as no bukkit ports are up-to-date yet. The IDs wont ever be changing again so you're safe now Before, it was using around 90 block IDs, now it's using 35. Worth it? Yup.

how did you set the traffic lights on and off and the street lights and the railway lever up and down?
That function isn't added just yet. Redstone in forge is incredibly complex to work with (which is annoying considering how simple it is in Bukkit) but I'm working on it. For now they're just decorative though.

I have a custom modpack made for my server. Some configs are edited for ID conflicts, but it means that my mod certainly shouldn't conflict with any of the ones I was using.
The first picture in the post with the tunnels lokks like a photograph.that's how good the mod is so far. This is very ambitious with your city mod. You're making some good progress.

Don't worry about it, I just tend to block it out. 99% of Minecrafts younger population are idiots but I never say anything in case they're actually dyslexic. With the exception of a guy called ramonski but he knows I love him really
I've removed the whitelist now- that was only until I could get bukkit installed and get some decent protections going. I'm in the process of that now. Let me know if you have any trouble logging in There's two of us on at the moment so come on whenever you can.
