This mod is a rewrite of my Mob Spawn Controls mod. Like the previous version, it allows the user to control/edit the vanilla minecraft mob spawning via configuration files and/or an in-game GUI.
B2.4.1 - Fixed server-side crash, fixed bug in group edit screen
B2.4.0 - Updated to 1.5.2, started working on Spawn Control GUI
B2.3.7 - Minor texture changes, minor GUI refectoring B2.3.6 - Finished the Groups screen, fixed crash for older versions of Java B2.3.3 - Started working on the Groups screen, still need to implement edit+save B2.3.2 - Completed the Mob Type GUI B2.3.1 - Started working on the GUI, initial WIP release
I plan on adding the Spawn Control, Groups, and Creature Type GUI soon but I'm still unsure how you guys want it to look. I'm open to any suggestions on the matter, but if you're really serious about it, a quick rough sketch (paint is ok) of the GUI would be nice.
when i try to edit the mods nothing happens or is this not implemented just yet? for the moment i'll continue with msc
What version are you on? Currently on the Spawn Control GUI is not implemented, but if you're on the latest version, the Creature/Mob Type GUI is complete.
I just realized you actually opened a thread for this. I'm a derp.
Anyway, just wanted to say it's been great making suggestions on the GUI thusfar. Davidee is really approachable, and pretty patient to put up with me
I'll post some (hopefully) finished* screens soon.
*While currently considered a finalized screen at the time of posting, this is still a WIP and is subject to change. Basically no promises that any screens posted will be 100% the same come release, but they are the current intention.

As stated in the original MSC thread, here's another screen of the new GUI.

hay iv ran into a problem where i needed to edit a item id for a biome mod and it adjacently disabled it and now all the biome settings that took me 4 hours to set up are gone T_T

What mods and what item? Sounds odd that an item ID change would disable the entire biome, unless you're talking about editing the biome ID itself.

Biome o plenety Bamboo item is the one i changed it some how disable the biome from the mod D:
Wow, that's crazy. You might want to ask the BoP people what's up with that.
So, if a biome gets disabled then all the biome settings are gone. In most cases, that would be a good feature because it's removing unused stuff, thus loading faster and lowering the chance of conflicts.
Idk if there's something Davidee could do there to save settings even on a biome disable. I hate to point fingers, but it really sounds like an issue with BoP - disabling an entire biome over an item ID change seems silly.

i just wish it did not take hours to set up... all that effort gone ..... i wish there was a easier way like instead of pasting the same exact setting for every single biome we could put a biome per creature that would make things faster i think.
every time i try to make a biome group the game crashes :|
also the mod does not seem to apply the spawn settings of mo creatures
it keeps the default spawn for all the other mods mobs except mo creautres i have to start from scratch with it :|

Sadly Mo Creatures uses its own spawning system meaning that I can't generate the defaults for it. By the time MSC2 is actually released, I'm sure there will be resources/people who have shared their configs for Mo Creatures. Also, the biome group functionality should decrease the time required to adjust configuration settings. Once a stable version of MSC2 is released, you shouldn't have any problems creating your own config or using someone else's.
If you're crashing, please post the Forge log - (the minecraft crash log normally isn't very good).
As for the biomes, yes, they will be lost if you uninstall the mod containing the biome. The only way to combat this is to put your config files to "readOnly," meaning that MSC2 will NOT overwrite your files. With this setting, you can still makes changes in-game, but do note that your changes will not be saved.

Oops. Accidentally used a method that isn't supported by Java 1.6 and below. Time to fix that.
I have just released version Beta2.3.6. This should fix your crash Also new in this version is the Edit group screen, which has been completed and is now fully operational.

I was directed here by the version 1 post and I must say that this is a must have mod for me. I said before that an enable option would be nice for biomes, but another mod that I always use is BWG4. Could that be in a future version?
Major changes from the old version:
This mod requires Minecraft Forge. Please download the correct version of Forge - it depends on what version of Minecraft you are using.
Current version : B2.5.3 for Minecraft 1.6.2

The GUI is still very WIP and mostly not writing to the configs yet. The current goal is to get the GUI layout correct first, then hook everything up.

Try looking for ForgeModLoader-client-0.log in your .minecraft folder.
I think Davidee's working on the code for that right now, actually, so you may have to wait until he gets it nailed down.
