I think I'd actually prefer it if it was manual and just have a build block which would place the entrance.
I have an idea about the level of the land, the wand claims land based on the level of the land that you originally claimed. How about adding in a Z position modifier. +1 would claim land 1 block higher than the default, +2 would claim 2 higher, -1 would claim land at 1 block lower. This would allow us to scale the kingdom up and down with the terrain rather than having just one flat area.
This is of course making some assumptions on how it determines where to claim land. If I'm terribly terribly wrong I apologize. Thank you again for working on this awesome mod.
I think that is a great Idea! I'll try to work on that
You've made some nice progress! I can't tell if you've adressed this yet from the video, but one thing that concerns me is how the buildings sometimes cut each other up. I noticed they won't cut past the wall, which is good, but if it could be the same for the other buildings...? Also, I think I nice addition would be for an outline of how much space a building, path or wall/land claim extention would take would be helpful- like if the amount of space was highlighted or something and you could have the option of whether to place or to change your mind and place elsewhere. I know perfectionists like me would be all over exact placement. : )
Just a suggestion. You seam to be fine on your own though. ; ) Keep up the excellent work!
A couple of questions. So this is an 'expansion' on Tale of Kingdoms? What I mean is to get that nifty king scepter do you go through tale of kingdoms first, become king, and then kind of move on to this? Or can you start off with just this?
How do the resources work exactly. You mentioned needing gold. Do you just need gold coins or do you need the resources gathered by your kingdom. It would be pretty epic to need cobblestone and lumber gathered by your people to build new buildings.
The OP mentions trading. With who? Or do you buy resources from the people with gold coins. How's the money work?
This looks pretty epic, and kinda kicks millenaire in the pants. Keep up the good work.
Do the NPCs do much? Or just wander around? I mean does the lumberer go out and gather wood from the forest and need guards to be around and protect him from mobs for instance. Or does the lumbermill just 'get' wood over time.

If you think something's impossible.
You haven't tried hard enough.

The outline system you just said and the building collision check is already implemented, I'll feature it in the next demo
Looks freakin' great.

Nope, I plan to put the first tale of kingdoms to obsolete. It will be entirely a new adventure.

Resources wood and stone are needed to building different buildings. You could supply them yourselves or the better alternatives is to build lumbermill and quarries. Gold is needed in almost anything as all buildings and its features have a specific cost. Emeralds will be more precious than ever as it is needed for specific high tier buildings and upgrades so it is encourage to interact with different villages.
The OP mentions trading. With who? Or do you buy resources from the people with gold coins. How's the money work?
Money is mostly used to utilize the features of your kingdom (such as recruiting units, building structures, upgrades(to you or your villagers) etc. They could be gathered by killing enemy mobs, trade with your shops, or taxes.

I didn't do anything complex for the lumberjack or miner. They just get wood or stone over time while hitting the stones or wood respectively.
Pretty epic. I basically loved everything you just said.
How are the guards set up? Can they be customized? I mean do they use different armors and weapons? Do you have any plans for the horses in upcoming update? Do you plan on having an api so others can add content, like armors and weapons from other mods, things like that? Are there going to be NPC kingdoms you can trade or war with? The potential here is endless.

How are the guards set up?
When deployed, they will guard the area there in, seeking any enemies nearby. If there are no enemies nearby, they go back to the area you deploy them in.

they can be upgraded through the blacksmith. Also when they kill enough monsters, they level up, changing its appearance.
Do you have any plans for the horses in upcoming update?
yes, there is a stable building available
Do you plan on having an api so others can add content, like armors and weapons from other mods, things like that?
not for now no.
Are there going to be NPC kingdoms you can trade or war with? The potential here is endless.
possible. its not my priority at the moment.
Also. ETA of official release is around next week.
This seems great so far, but sometimes its ugly, and dull with the flat land. I would like more customization features, but that may be what I might do with schematics. Great mod so far!
Questions:
Will we able to build a kingdom according to the biomes?
Will we able to build different styled kingdoms, like for example, a dwarf (underground) or a elf (tree) kingdom?
Will we have to do anything to earn the kingdom staff?
Will we have more wall and path options?
Final Question: Will there be a story line or quests that you will put in/follow?
TyberAlyx I am in awe of you. I have enjoyed Tale of Kingdoms from back when you were still improving it.
In the old mod, we could not leave our stuff in our own kingdom because each upgrade would obliterate it.
The demo video here seems to imply that has been solved?
Can we finaly alter our living quarters and store resources inside our own kingdom grounds while upgrading and building on other parts?
I had stopped playing minecraft due to a lack of interest. Your Tale of Kingship will be reason enough to play it again.
I would love to see sort of a way to add up-gradable traits to Steve like the old level up mod that got discontinued, it would add so much more to this mod and make it even more interesting kinda like the skill tree in skyrim but not as advanced. Hopefully you know what i am talking about but i am VERY excited about this mod and i just cant wait.

You can build your kingdom in any biomes. If you mean "according to biomes" will have special traits or designs, then no.
Will we able to build different styled kingdoms, like for example, a dwarf (underground) or a elf (tree) kingdom?
No, sorry.
Will we have to do anything to earn the kingdom staff?
Nothing for the mean time. It is useless without gold anyways.
Will we have more wall and path options?
Depends. Its possible to add more though.

For the meantime, no, but its a series of mod so after this mod become stable, I'll work on it. The premise of Tale of Kingdoms 1 will still be applied here.

@ Tyber, Are you Singaporean? Cos if you are, I am proud that we have a Singaporean that is very pro at modding. Cant wait for the release. A lot of new features that is going to be implemented. You say that it is like SimCity right? Can you make it where sometimes there is a crime in your own city and then you need guards to make sure that the stores are safe? Really cool if that is implemented. But all in all, a good job in this mod. Can't wait for it. And, you are simply AWESUM

Thank you for your hard work!!

Nope. But I recommend you start on a new map though. It is grief heavy and still not stable.
