That is an idea. I wonder how many people prefer lots of tabs with few items and how many prefer few tabs with lots of items.
In my perspective, to takes too long to search that 1.2.5 creative list in Tekkit. I was really happy when we got that Creative Menu. Some people don't mind long, unorganized lists. However, I personally think 4 would be overkill. (Unless if it's really organized, like Redpower's... Cross-overs, Lighting blocks, Microblocks, Machines)
Doesn't Sawdust have any other uses? Bat/Spider repel (Pretty dusty)? Fertilizer? Paper? Fuel?
Now that is an idea. The baitbox has a repellent feature; it may be useful there. And I will add its use as another way to craft paper. (No more searching for sugarcane to enchant things. )

The 1.2.5 list was huge; my list is only my items, about 2x the size of the "blocks" tab. I can split it into two "Machines" and "Items". They would be of unequal size, though, so one would be left rather larger.

Yes, I wanted to avoid the "black box" effect of simply having the machines be a block with some icon drawn on them, as I feel that is severely immersion-breaking. I find this so problematic that I never even used one mod - which shall remain unnamed - which added a large number of machines but left them as icon-cubes.
Oh I agree! Especially when the "box" has a bad image drawn on it.
I don't know if you've seen this post, but I have also posted this. Basically preventing "cannibalism" or just zombies/skeletons in general.
Hooray! Paper! And artifical leather!.... not.
Example: Adding Steak/Beef will repel Cows. Raw Chicken/Cooked Chicken will repel Chicken. Health Potions(+Splash) repel zombies + skeletons, etc.
At least we just need baiters to get leather for the books. Any possible alternatives for the books?
Meats cannot be used as they are already attractive for wolves, but potions are a useful idea. Thank you for thinking of this.

Saw this on reddit, looks absolutely great and the best part is most of the ideas haven't been done by any mod. Do you plan on releasing for 1.4x or 1.5 (basically have you started porting it yet). And this mod is more complete than many mods which are released. Whats stopping you from releasing it?

1.4.7. I would prefer to release it first, then port it after.
A couple little glitches, mostly rendering-related, are what is stopping me from releasing it. Namely that I want to be able to render in-world "block overlays" (think WorldEdit GUI) to show "read/write" coordinates of the power transmission machines, and to fix a glitch where ordinary (even vanilla) blocks render dark in the inventory if custom-model blocks are also in it.
Oh, and of course a constant stream of new ideas. I already thought of one while writing this - mob radar.

Damn, this is looking nice. I agree, you should work on the release more. I wonder why people are bothering FTB *blink blink, punch punch, kick in the shin, knock of the glasses (if they have any)*
Edit: Dammit, my signature won't work can't be bothered... makes me sad
That would be nice. Very nice.
And I already have numerous people pestering the FTB team on my behalf.
Awesome! All the more to try to push a SMP release, if possible! If the mod's universal (Useable for BOTH Clients and Servers as a single .zip or .jar), that's a bonus.

There is a problem with an SMP release - I have no idea how to make anything for multiplayer. Combine that with some machines being capable of destroying a server...

Output of more planks then simple crafting from logs? (1 Log >Grind> 6 Sawdust >Compress> 6 Panels?)
Doesn't Sawdust have any other uses? Bat/Spider repel (Pretty dusty)? Fertilizer? Paper? Fuel?
With extra uses, it would simply add a method of re-using the extra back into a common crafting material.

That is good to hear.

BRAVO! Looks great for a WIP mod. Rotary power is one of the few things "tech" mods need!
Playing Minecraft since Alpha 1.1.2_0
Maybe we should stop the ideas and focus on the release! :)?
You are right. I will do that.
EDIT:
This mod is getting lots of praise. Good work Reika! What if it actually gets selected for one of those widely-popular modpacks?

That? Can you give me a direct link of the photo? Direct links usually link you to a blank page with LITERALLY nothing but the image itself. This is one such example. Yes, I drew this for fun. Yes, that is a diglett.
Also, if you want to link pics, you have to do them in this order:
EDIT: I just saw your Forum icon change XD
Direct link
LONG, I know. That's why it didn't work and why I shortened the url. Damn, this form is so misleading. Imga under special BBcode.
It says I cannot use that image extension. I know why, but the url is so damn long!! It takes [/img as an image extension if I use the url shortener.
