Elemental orbs is a mod coded by MaximumTechnology, textured by ferrettomato, and tested by xXSniperCoverXx. It allows you to use element-related orbs to do many things to the area around you. I put most information about this mod in the following spoilers.

I love the idea of the nether orb, adding it in 0.8 update, thanks nuagedecube.
Regarding Eryan, I will make nether quartz part of the recipe once 1.5 is released. I do agree some orbs are overpowered. Durability is an interesting idea, but for the moment I like the "use as many times as you like" on creative and "one time use" on survival.
I have decided to make an orb-o-pedia to show all the uses for the orbs (nuagedecube missed some in his video)
Also, here is what's planned for the 0.8 update
- Nether Orb - does what nuagedecube said.
- Water Orb - not what you expect it to do(maybe, may not be added)
- Animal Orb - spawns lots of passive mobs around you
- Changes to the dry orb (too overpowered)
- Fix bug with Ice Orb

Looks like this mod is very interesting... Maybe I will try it out once the 0.8 update comes out.
The idea of durability for each of the orbs sounds like it would be good for balance. Maybe make them repairable in anvils...
Also, maybe once the mod develops further you should have a special crafting/enchanting bench in which you must craft your orbs in via special recipes.
Then, maybe add higher tiers of orbs that have heightened affects of their lower tier counterparts?
This is just me going off on ideas here. Maybe you will find them to be useful.
I was planning on adding a furnace-like elemental infuser in version 1.0. 0.8 update should come out Friday
These orbs are also fairly balanced, because they are one time use on survival mode. I might add durability for more end-game orbs, allowing for multiple uses.
0.8 update is finally out! I know it was supposed to come out on friday, but I had to fix some last minute bugs. Any who, here are the changes.
- fixed ice orb bug(sometimes when freezing mobs, the ice would miss the mob entirely)
- made dry orb not evaporate all water(it was too overpowered)
- added nether orb(thanks nuagedecube)
- added water orb
- added animal orb

This update looks pretty good, I see that more orbs are being added by the update.
To me, I think you have a good amount of orbs to start with. Not trying to tell you what to do here, but I think that you should start working on the orb crafting bench because with that you could create methods of obtaining higher tier orbs.
For example, the tier one fire orb could light the ground/mobs in a 3X3 square, while the tier 2 could do the same thing but in a larger area. However, it would require more rare material to make these tiered orbs.
Just an idea to say that the mod is coming along great right now
That is a good idea, but I think that the higher tiers would just have durability, allowing for multiple uses. I'm probably not going to increase range for higher tiers. Do you think that higher tiers could be created by using the elemental infuser on an existing orb?

I have coded everything for the 0.9 update, and I am now finishing up textures; we should be ready for release this weekend. Here is what I've added so far:
- "Omega" tier for all orbs except ender and explosion.
- Omega Ore: A rare ore that glows slightly and drops a single omega stone when mined.
- Omega Stone: An item used to craft omega infusers.
- Omega Upgrader: A block that changes a normal orb to an omega orb when right clicked with the orb. Crafted with 5 omega stones and 4 iron.
- 3 Achievements: orb apprentice, orb upgrade, and orb master.
- Minor color changes.
Lastly, just in case you were wondering, we are at 45 downloads.

But I have a suggestion how about a charging system instead of durability . You would need a elemental charger with a furnace like interface where the orb you want to charge is put on top and the item with the same element on the bottom .
Another thing how about a pedestal where you could put the orb and it would give a field effect for example
Fire orb-A fire field where mobs or other player catch on fire
There should be a keystone to allow other players to enter and it has to be made by the player,
