Still a work in progress, Dota 2 Items Mod aims to recreate items from Dota 2 in Minecraft with the same look-and-feel (16 pixel Minecraft style). That includes textures, sounds, particle effects, cooldown, charges,usage mechanics redesigned to suit Minecraft, and, of course, item crafting.
Dota 2 Items are not dropped on death, and when you respawn you receive all of Dota 2 Items you had before dying. Passive effects are accumulated from all 9 items currently in your inventory hot bar.
You get gold coins for killing mobs and other players as wells as at a constant but slow rate, like in Dota. Some coins drop on death, the amount depending on your level. The Dota 2 Shopkeeper NPC spawns in every village. From him you can buy or sell Dota 2 Items for gold coins.
Default attack speed is lowered compared to Minecraft. You can land one blow in 1.3 seconds with 0 Agility.
This mod should be single player and multiplayer compatible.

[spoiler]I started with items with effects that would be both very useful in Minecraft while not too easy or too difficult to implement. For now they are only available in the creative inventory, in a special tab. Also in creative mode all items have zero cooldown. Possibly the most comfortable way to travel in creative mode.
Active: Blink - Teleport to a target point up to 30 meters away. If damage is taken from an enemy, Blink Dagger cannot be used for 3 seconds.
In Minecraft, Blink negates all fall damage and lands you on a surface (land or water or also lava, so be careful). If you target 2 blocks below the top of a cliff or a wall, you will teleport on top of it. Mana cost: 75 Cooldown: 14 seconds Gold cost: 2150 Possibly the quickest way to cut down a whole jungle, lol.
Use: Eat Tree - Consume a tree to restore HP over time. Comes with 3 charges.Consumes 1 Tango.The tree must have a trunk at least 3 blocks high.
Duration: 16 seconds. Gold cost: 90 Active: Destroy Tree - Destroy a target tree. Cooldown: 5 seconds Passive: Quell - Gives bonus attack damage (currently against all mobs), depending on the type of the attack. Melee bonus: 32% Ranged bonus: 12% Gold cost: 225
Active: Cyclone - Target unit is swept up in a cyclone for 2.5 seconds, and is invulnerable. Target also cannot move, attack or use items.
Use right click to activate Cyclone on an a mob; also you can right-click the block on which the mob is standing. You can target yourself that way. Mana cost: 75 Cooldown: 30 seconds Passive: +30 Movement Speed, +10 Intelligence (every point of Intelligence in turn gives you 13 mana and 0.04 mana regeneration) Total gold cost: 2800

The only problem - Tango doesn't work with TreeFeller Installed (I Think this doesn't make any problem and I choosed your mod)
Also, there's a litte Idea - what's about transforming tree into sap, to make it more DOTA-style? (Trees regrow)?

Also, when making your custom map you shouldn't plant the trees too close, or Tango and Quelling Blade will eat several at once. On the latest Minecraft: DOTA map by Hypixel if you click on some parts of those dense woods, you'll eat half of the map
OK, here's new problem with Server. In creative mode Blink Dagger works perfect, but there's problem with cooldown code (Seemed to me)

What's about making some kind of NPC Trader in Villages, which looks like Trader from DOTA2 and making him sell Items for Gold Nuggets/Emeralds/Some kind of Currency? (DOTA2 badges which drops somewhere in Nether or from Bosses?)
Also, my friend thinks that Eul's Scepter of Divinity would be nice for Item-Plan =)

That last crash was caused by my rather ugly attempt to resolve a bug. At least now the code is a bit more logical, but the bug persists, signifying the beginning of the new section "Known Bugs"...
It should be noted that some items in Dota 2 apply different bonuses depending on whether the target is a hero or a creep. For now my mod makes no such distinction, to suit survival single player better. In a future release I will add a configuration boolean option "treat mobs and players alike".

I don't know if what im going to say is possible. Could you make a block that's actually a shop with a gui where you can change money for items? Maybe you can earn money as time goes by and when you kill mobs or other players. Money should not be an item, just one number for each player of the server.
Well, quite thinkly, block is possible, also, can be craftable.
What's about money - I don't know, but it seems to me, that Non-item money could require Bukkit instead of Forge (Maybe I'm not right?)

That's a possibility and a logical continuation for the Items mod, but it's already taking me quite a while to get the Cyclone done, so I don't hope I'll get to heroes anytime soon. I might not even do it at all.

Quity thinkly, Making heroes in Minecraft gonna be hard and not nice idea.
You have only 2 ways - Making something like a Spell System, like is Ars-Magica mod, but it will be hard for controls and some spells gonna be hard to create (Earthshaker's Spells, or Shadow Demon). Some items duplicate or similar to heroes' abilities - Eye of the Skadi works close to Drow's Frost Arrow, and Bounty Hunter's Stealth similar to Stealth of Shadow Blade.
I think it's better to make Items from Dota 2, Way to sell them and any Creep system, which can spawn them and make them run (The only Idea i got today - make two beakons, connected each to other, which make creeps to spawn at point A and run to point B, but with the rule, that they will fight with enemy creeps and towers (Which can be NPC too, which haven't movespeed and Rotation, but can launch Ghast-like projective). And the system is kinda easy: Make coins, which drops from all of them, trader, which sells for that coins, and coins drop at death of player (Just similar to Dota death).
The only problem to make Creeps not to drop money to owner team (Deny all creeps at start = Win ).
Second problem - HowTo make items? Creative-only (For Server Owners) or Craftable? And what's about Arena (Makes me think to make and place map here, ready for mod).

The only problem - Tango doesn't work with TreeFeller Installed (I Think this doesn't make any problem and I choosed your mod)
Also, there's a litte Idea - what's about transforming tree into sap, to make it more DOTA-style? (Trees regrow)?
Yeah, and I'm going to use it with CustomNPC as Vendors on my private server (Non-public) on Dota 2 copy map, which we're planning to make.
Server version 1.4.7 with latest Forge installed on it.

What's about making some kind of NPC Trader in Villages, which looks like Trader from DOTA2 and making him sell Items for Gold Nuggets/Emeralds/Some kind of Currency? (DOTA2 badges which drops somewhere in Nether or from Bosses?)
Also, my friend thinks that Eul's Scepter of Divinity would be nice for Item-Plan =)
That last crash was caused by my rather ugly attempt to resolve a bug. At least now the code is a bit more logical, but the bug persists, signifying the beginning of the new section "Known Bugs"...
It should be noted that some items in Dota 2 apply different bonuses depending on whether the target is a hero or a creep. For now my mod makes no such distinction, to suit survival single player better. In a future release I will add a configuration boolean option "treat mobs and players alike".

What's about money - I don't know, but it seems to me, that Non-item money could require Bukkit instead of Forge (Maybe I'm not right?)

Quity thinkly, Making heroes in Minecraft gonna be hard and not nice idea.
You have only 2 ways - Making something like a Spell System, like is Ars-Magica mod, but it will be hard for controls and some spells gonna be hard to create (Earthshaker's Spells, or Shadow Demon). Some items duplicate or similar to heroes' abilities - Eye of the Skadi works close to Drow's Frost Arrow, and Bounty Hunter's Stealth similar to Stealth of Shadow Blade.
I think it's better to make Items from Dota 2, Way to sell them and any Creep system, which can spawn them and make them run (The only Idea i got today - make two beakons, connected each to other, which make creeps to spawn at point A and run to point B, but with the rule, that they will fight with enemy creeps and towers (Which can be NPC too, which haven't movespeed and Rotation, but can launch Ghast-like projective). And the system is kinda easy: Make coins, which drops from all of them, trader, which sells for that coins, and coins drop at death of player (Just similar to Dota death).
The only problem to make Creeps not to drop money to owner team (Deny all creeps at start = Win
Second problem - HowTo make items? Creative-only (For Server Owners) or Craftable? And what's about Arena (Makes me think to make and place map here, ready for mod).

The new version adds Eul's Scepter, which for now only has its active ability - Cyclone. Read the "Items so far" section to learn more.
This one was pretty hard to make, and I'm uploading something as incomplete and buggy, because I won't be having as much time to work on this mod soon.
I really liked doing the visual effects though. That Cyclone occasionally swipes up little chunks of the block it's standing on, which is pretty cool.
