I'm not sure if this necessarily happens to all people, but I've noticed a drop in framerate when I add this mod to my client and server, with and without Optifine.
Without Optifine:
No mod - 75 FPS Mod - 50 FPS
With Optifine:
No mod - 90-120 FPS Mod - 75 FPS
This isn't too terrible for me, but I just noticed this and thought I should post. Also, when I have the tinker table in my inventory, most blocks (like machine blocks and sandstone) appear grey in NEI.
hey iv tried downloading this mod from both my macintosh and windows computers and the link to jenkins and the recomended build dont work. i guess i should say they act like there loading then it says 504 timed out. please help i want this mod.

Hi Machine Muse! I would like to know if IC2 Solar Helmets are able to charge the your tools and armor directly from the inventory. Same question for the Lappack. Btw, just watched DW20 mod spolight, and it's awesome
OK, for those of you having trouble downloading I added some alternate links to Dropbox and Mediafire. Hopefully that should even it out a bit so Jenkins doesn't get overloaded.

The beauty of a living thing is not the atoms that go into it, but the way those atoms are put together.
just watched D20's spotlight and had a few ideas of my own (have read most of the forums and the website and haven't seen these)
1. Wrench(IC2)/Crowbar(railcraft)/Screw Driver(RP2)/Crescent Hammer(Thermal Expansion) module for the tool that when holding shift and left click you would rotate and right click would break
2.Volt Meter(RP2)/Eu reader(IC2)/Charge Meter(Factorization)MJ Reader(Thermal Expansion) that would work the same as above but shift left click would read the charge instead
3. portal gun and gravity gun modules that would act as the mod it is based after
didn't realize the comment right above me was about portal gun but grav gun would still be cool
4. mining lazer module that would act like the one in IC2 and would take over the left click as shooting when active and would not be able to be used at all when deactivated
5. a scoop module from forestry because scoops break to easy
6.an animal breeding and attracting module would be cool but don't know how it would be implemented
7. Tree Tap from IC2
8. pretty sure i have already seen a bucket and bone meal modules idea but still a good idea
was looking over your todo list and came up with some, what I think are, pretty neat ideas, and a question or two. Weapons: Plasma Whip: could be used like a short-mid range grappling hook to pull the player to location, damage mobs or pull them closer, or charged to be made solid like a saber. Hud Addons: IC2 Power Reader: like how neosatan did with IC2 Hud Upgrades Compass Integration: yea... on screen compass.... Ammo Count: arrow count when using a bow... bullet count with mods like XReliquary and for tools have current tool durability, etc Geo-Location: Info like current (x/y/z), biome, game fps, Humidity (time to rain) Recticle: Info about entity under focus like health, type, etc, with arch markers when bow is equipped Tools:
maybe rather than add a long list of tools yours can replace, give it an item emulator function where it emulates the left and right click ability of any tool/weapon placed in a slot, or in a set number of slots? This way a vanilla sword could be placed in, or a portal gun, a thaumic wand, or the ability of a scythe from harkens... etc (without having to hard code each and every tool) Energy Interactions:
The item on your ToDo list, would this be like sapping power from lines and machines with the tool, ala walk up and siphon? and perhaps vice versa, stand close and poor power into a tool/line with the tool?
Just some ideas that came to mind while reading your todo
Edit: reading over the post that were entered while I was typing, looks like a few of us have similar ideas...

That's actually an insanely good idea and would provide a huge amount of inventory management reduction for very little effort on my part. I still have to code in a mode-switching system but once that's done I'll try and get this to work ASAP. There'll probably be a whole host of bugs and weirdness, but that's why we're in alpha, right?
random thought, have you played with ars magicka yet?
to sum it up, they use a spellbook that is filled with scrolls that each have an effect, when the spellbook is right clicked it acts as the spell in question selected, which is done by a selection identifier in the upper left of the screen..... and spells are shifted through left and right with keys on the keyboard so... yea just a thought
this could further be implemented by making... Itemchips.. or itemcards or whatever you want to call it...
where as you make a card/chip whatever, to serve as a place holder, then combine that with whatever item/tool you want to emulate then put it into your tool.... kinda like... NES cartridges.... only without the blowing them off!
could also balance by making durability drain power rather than equipment damage

Yeah I have played with Ars Magica a bit. I found using different keys to switch spells a little frustrating to work with since I have so many mods installed already, although it wasn't too bad. Like I said, gotta get that interface working and then we'll see about balancing the functionality.
Edit: Oh, and to answer your other question, yeah, I'm thinking basically acting as a portable battery yourself - the items can already do this, it'd just be the extra convenience of not having to take it off if you only need to smelt 1 item in an unpowered electric furnace or whatever.

agreed.... cant think of a better way but it can be a bit of a hassle though, Glad you liked the idea and cant wait to see what you push out, no doubt its going to be something else
Saw the mod spotlight from direwolf, instantly fell in love with this mod. It's such a great idea and the attention to detail is what caught my eye. Looking through the ToDo list you have some really great ideas, cannot wait to test them all out when you update the mod

Are you sure that's in any way related to my mod? It says "denoflionsx.PluginsforForestry"...
As for stuttering, how do you mean? Framerate? Or like 'rubber-banding' ie. being moved back to where you were before?

If I had any upvotes left today, you would definitely get one.

I am having the same issue
Me too
If I may throw in a couple minor suggestions: Compass and Time hud elements (Holographic + Compass/Watch).
Looking forward to further work. Thank you very much
