yup. it for now will be done by holding shift. when you are holding shift you will trail and when your not you wont. i would make it so when you hit shift you trail and when you hit it again you stop but because of the massive amount of processing power it takes to support the ton of light trails i made it so you have to continuously hold the button. in theory it would limit the number people use but who knows. but as always this is subject to change depend on what happens in the future.
Thank the Lord almighty. I have just found a massive fix for a "problem" in the flight controls of the vehicles. ok for any of you who have tried to use the mod and shoot things from the light jet know that when you move your mouse you start to change course and don't stop turning untill you move the mouse back, making targeting very hard. well not the controls are such that the light jet turns to where you were looking and stops so all you have to-do is put your cross-hair on a target and shoot it. it works much better and i came across the fix by accident.

So i have Started the Light Tank because of a lack of progress on the light trail. i have a pretty nice hand coded Model of the base using Turbo Model Thingy. the Tank controls are basically done. all thats left to-do is to add the turret(and the turrety stuff) on top and create the texture map for it (not sure how to but i will figure it out).
I know how i want to do light disks so thats not a problem. as far as a eta im really not sure. before i consider a release i need to add light trails because ive only finished 2 things so far. i did start the grid but because i couldn't figure it out a gave up for now to stop wasting time and actually finish stuff. Im sorry that Dev of this mod is taking far longer then i thought it would.

as i have said i want to add a massive array of vehicles including things from tron uprising. it takes me a good deal of time to add a single vehicle especially with vehicles like the tank where a large amount of upgrades will exists for it and i need to make sure all parts work together . So i have a lot of plans but when i get time for them is another story.
That reminds me i need to make a white(base color) texture for the vehicles. right now the only color available is black for that part. while i have parts of armor working i havent started any real pieces of them because i don't have textures yet. I think for armor im just going to create two base colors(black and white), then use my custom color system for the secondary color(the Glow). i don't think im going to do any person specific armors

Also, how high are tanks? I'm planning on putting some sky bridges connecting buildings, and I want to make sure that the tank haveclearance.

Also, how high are tanks? I'm planning on putting some sky bridges connecting buildings, and I want to make sure that the tank haveclearance.
The hit box for the tanks are 8x8 and then 2 tall but at least 4 blocks for the turret not to start getting rendered into the ceiling. ill probably increase that hitbox size when i add the turret to it.

I never said the tank was going to have trails. im working on the Tank for a while till i can start work on the trails again with a fresh perspective. and yes you will be able to blow stuff up.

Although, I don't think it matters much, seeing as the Dimension design has taken a backseat ATM. Also, I will admit that what i have built isn't necessarily accurate. Wow, that's so cool, I did watch the show (when they still made episodes) and I guess that works, I'm curious, are you thinking of adding a bit as a craft able or tame able pet? Also, what about the light gliders or the light copters? Not sure if you knew about those but just thought I'd throw them out there.

Also, would you consider making light disks be able to mine tongs like wood and first and maybe even cobble stone at the speed of maybe gold because the light disks have been used to cut through things, just an idea.

Light Disks are planned to not only be a weapon but the key to the entire mod. While i do see where your coming from as to giving it tool properties i all ready have ideas in place for energy tools and things of that nature.
Brain Storming and Ideas 5-25-13
The disk however i did a lot of Brain Storming for last night and came up with a few ideas. To start out every player who enters the grid will be given a special disk. This disk will be theirs and theirs only. if the player tries to drop it, the disk will disappear. and to retrieve it again will be done just by hitting a configurable key with a empty hand. The disk will have its own style upgrades that will be needed for the different levels of crafting.
Crafting System
i have decided that there will be a tier based crafting system. Tier 1: will be able to create simple items, blocks,tools, and light cycle baton(and maybe another simple vehicle) from MB(Memory(the Money system in the game)) and a few other resources Like grid wood, grid stone, grid ores, ect.
Tier 2: will make all that Tier 1 can do but also makes all personal vehicles(things spawn with batons), the weaker permanent vehicles, the next strongest tools, more complicated items/blocks. This level adds the difficulty that it has to use energy to "Compile" the result and the energy requirements and compile time will vary due to the complexity of the block or item.
Tier 3: will be the End Game Tier. to access this will require the "Super User" Upgrade to your disk(While i do not know how you will obtain this upgrade it will require many boss fights and a lot of time). This will enable the creation of any and all usable times in the game all tho it will still cost MB, energy, and resources.
While these are the basic tiers there will be sub tiers that require disk upgrades to use such as advance vehicles and program creation. along with that in the beginning you will have a limited MB storage in your disk. as you explore and battle thought the grid your memory limit will be increased and with that comes more things you can make and build. Now because you guys may want to lend disks you can create what is called a "Battle Disk" which is solely a weapon that has no limitations on who can hold it.
This system was actually inspired somewhat by thaumcraft and its Tiered crafting system.
Energy
At the moment i do not know what energy will be... but because the Grid water is the source of power in Tron i am leaning towards using that kinda like how IC2 Geothermal generators use lava.
Also Im thinking of using one of the 3 main electric APIs for the mod which are IC2, BuildCraft, Universal Electricity. but no matter which one i use i will add enough stuff that you do not need to use another mod with it to get it too work. i personally am leaning away from ic2 because it is not a widely used API, where as BuildCraft and Universal Electricity have a ton of mods made with them, Buildcraft seems like the best choice to me but i probably could write a simple one if none wants me to use a preexisting mod API.

you guys will be happy to know the Tank Base is driving well and the controls work for it well too. I am 100% done with the body's model and am 50% done with the Turret's Model. but the Turret still doesn't do anything and i do not have the tank cannon shooting but that should change once i finish the model.

Energy: I say make your stuff output one type but let your machines take any type. ICBM and the Elec Expansion take both UE and EU. Personally I think it should be EU, but that is due to my use of RC, IC2, and BC with a power converter mod that lets me use steam engines to get power from steam boilers. The Steam turbine doesn't put out enough power IMO, but CJ seems to think it is balanced....I'd love to be able to make my own mods, I'd make an advanced steam turbine that would be able to produce way more EU/t for the same amount of steam.
