I bet german would have that problem as well.... lots of long words.

I believe you're missing the core NEI for 1.6.4?
I've seen that problem before... can't remember exactly what it was.
They can be renamed to whatever in the translations. It is purely a cosmetic/client-side display thing, so has little impact on actual gameplay. Yah, some of those would definitely have some far-too-long of names if translated directly/literally
A ways out yet. There are some 1.7.2 test releases posted a few pages back, or you can find the links on the github repo releases page. However, they are test releases, and _do_ have some problems still as well as a ton of balance that still needs fixing.
Will probably actually be released for 1.7.10 initially -- repo is updated but currently in limbo waiting on a few other devs to update their stuff so that I can continue my work (I can't even currently compile/test my mod until some others update theirs) (Buildcraft, CCC/NEI).
After BC/NEI are avail for 1.7.10, I should begin having frequent test releases available again as I work through the remaining issues and balance .
I'll take a look at it if I get a chance. Yes, a PM or -spoiler- post of the template might help me track it down ... the crash log points to an improperly handled civic/worksite (which should be handled fine via its own plugin rule, rather than the default mod plugin rule).
Use a text editor. A proper one (NOT Notepad) such as Wordpad or Notepad++.
The info inside should be in a human-readable format (i.e. not binary), though some of it won't make sense unless you are familiar with the data layout used.
Temporarily at an impasse while waiting for others to update their stuff to 1.7.10 (mainly Buildcraft and NEI, as they are run/compile dependencies). If I don't see anything from these guys by tomorrow or so, I'll be reverting to 1.7.2 and continuing work. (The update from 1.7.2 -> 1.7.10 was mostly painless...very little to change, and the changes can probably stay fine if I revert).
I'm have some questions about your mod, and some problems:
Can I just have the original structures generate? Without the ancient structures?
Where do I put the .aws files?
When I make a superflat world, the structure generator tries desperately to spawn things, causing an enormous amount of lag. So it takes a painfully long amount of time to generate a superflat world.

I believe the structure generator respects the per-world vanilla 'generate-structures' setting (the setting that enables villages/strongholds/pyramids/etc). So in your superflat world setup screen, disable structures. That -should- be all that is needed. (This may or may not work, honestly, its been a long time since I wrote that bit of code and don't remember off the top of my head whether I had that bit enabled or not -- it was at least enabled on one of the structure systems I've written).
Aside from that -- what would you expect would happen when you install a huge structure pack..that they -would not- try and generate? No, the entire purpose of the packs is to try and generate those in the world. If that is really an issue, consider un-installing the structure packs when creating your superflat worlds -- you can always add them back in after the world is generated. Alternatively, you can edit the templates themselves to disable their world-generation flag.
Ohh, and a good tip is to open up the main config file and DISABLE THE DEBUG SETTING. I'm not sure why I keep getting posts like this (as the default for the debug setting is FALSE), but SPAMMING THE LOG WITH DEBUG INFO WILL LAG THE GAME, PERIOD...so maybe try not enabling those settings to begin with, or turning off any that are enabled. Seriously, console logging takes 10 - 100x longer than most other operations performed in MC code, it is really terribly slow.
I didn't have it enabled, but I don't think your mod was causing it after all. I tried to generated a superflat world without your mod and it still happened. BTW I love the new drawbridges.
Nope, food requirements are part of using the NPCs. I -might- add in a config option to allow for enabling/disabling food use....but honestly, they are designed around requiring food, and is the only resource balance mechanism in place for the NPCs (else they are just really cheap to construct and then free labor after that...kind of sounds a bit cheap/cheaty to me....).
Other mods' power systems require you to burn stuff...mine requires that you keep them fed. (Later though, you can use the torque power system with waterwheel generators to generate infinite 'free' power...but that is way later in the tech tree, and I'm not sure if the recipes are even in the mod for that stuff yet).

In the 1.7.2 releases, you can specify -any- item as valid food for the NPCs, as well as the amount it feeds them for (in number of ticks). Look into the NPC config file(s)...
It does this through a simple item-name lookup via the item-registry -- you will need to use the proper name for an item for it to work, this would be the same name used if given to a player via the /give command (e.g. "AncientWarfare:<item_name" or "minecraft:bread").
The item no longer need to extend item-food, as I now just manually map the food values / edible items -- too many problems with 'poison' edible items such as zombie flesh, raw chicken/etc that there was no proper way to induce the poison effect on the NPC...

something curious is that (in 1.6.4) I have MoreMeat which adds creeper meat, and I can process creeper meat, but not rotten flesh... and creeper meat has a chance of lighting you on fire or blowing you up (Ender meat is similar)
I was thinking of letting everything be 1:1, and cooked meats be 3:1 or 4:1... Orespawn's cooked bacon for instance, has instant saturation fill-up and strength effect IIRC, and when processed it yields out 32:1, I believe.
raw food still fills you up 1.5 or 2 points, so it would always be better to cook it first and then process it, but if you have plenty of food and can spare the raw food, you get a sure point of food without the poison danger.
haven't been able to duplicate that previous crash from the civics, but I did get a different crash while trying.... AFAIK, if you mess up the placing of the civic (overlapping with another civic, or including mod blocks or things like that) then it crashes.... otherwise, it works fine.

Please report bugs on github. Please also look at the existing bugs/issues before reporting a new one. dupe reports waste my time and yours. Do not PM me with bug-reports. You can post them here in the thread as well so that others are aware of them, but if they do not get posted to the github issue tracker I WILL NOT SEE THEM, AND THEY WILL NOT GET FIXED. If there is a crash, you -must- attach the crashlog if you want to be helped. Otherwise, please describe your issue in as much detail as possible. These releases probably have a _ton_ of bugs. A few things are just _unfinished_. Most stuff should at least be crash free, even if it does not work properly yet. Please report any crashes you encounter. Feel free to report unfinished stuff / non-functional stuff -- at the very least it will let others be aware of the issue, and sometimes things get missed / overlooked, so could very well be a legitimate issue.
I will not be posting these releases on the main page until I hit at least the beta-stage....keep an eye out on the thread and/or github repo to know when new test-releases are available.
NEI plugin is built in. Do not ask me what recipes are -- I don't know them by heart -- either use NEI or look them up in the source-code.
Things will likely break in between these releases and require entirely new worlds to be created -- if you are trying to actually -play- using these releases, you are crazy, they are for testing and fixing purposes...if you are looking to -play- the mod, please come back in a few weeks/months and look for the beta (or later) releases, or return to the existing 1.6.4 releases until things are finished.
To build structures is it only available in the structure packs? Because if so guess I can only use NPC's(On 1.7)

Yes, structure packs add structures that you can build in survival mode.
No, you can make your own templates, feel free to do so (tools are in the structures creative tab). If you make your own, you can use NPCs in them (in creative mode / world gen at least).
No, the structure packs are not available yet for 1.7 (as 1.7 release is not finished yet)
No, the NPCs from the 1.6 packs do not work when placed in the 1.7 releases. (again, 17 is not finished, nor are the structure packs)

They can be renamed to whatever in the translations. It is purely a cosmetic/client-side display thing, so has little impact on actual gameplay. Yah, some of those would definitely have some far-too-long of names if translated directly/literally
A ways out yet. There are some 1.7.2 test releases posted a few pages back, or you can find the links on the github repo releases page. However, they are test releases, and _do_ have some problems still as well as a ton of balance that still needs fixing.
Will probably actually be released for 1.7.10 initially -- repo is updated but currently in limbo waiting on a few other devs to update their stuff so that I can continue my work (I can't even currently compile/test my mod until some others update theirs) (Buildcraft, CCC/NEI).
After BC/NEI are avail for 1.7.10, I should begin having frequent test releases available again as I work through the remaining issues and balance .

Use a text editor. A proper one (NOT Notepad) such as Wordpad or Notepad++.
The info inside should be in a human-readable format (i.e. not binary), though some of it won't make sense unless you are familiar with the data layout used.
Temporarily at an impasse while waiting for others to update their stuff to 1.7.10 (mainly Buildcraft and NEI, as they are run/compile dependencies). If I don't see anything from these guys by tomorrow or so, I'll be reverting to 1.7.2 and continuing work. (The update from 1.7.2 -> 1.7.10 was mostly painless...very little to change, and the changes can probably stay fine if I revert).
Can I just have the original structures generate? Without the ancient structures?
Where do I put the .aws files?When I make a superflat world, the structure generator tries desperately to spawn things, causing an enormous amount of lag. So it takes a painfully long amount of time to generate a superflat world.

all that together and fine-tuned should bring the lag down.
Aside from that -- what would you expect would happen when you install a huge structure pack..that they -would not- try and generate? No, the entire purpose of the packs is to try and generate those in the world. If that is really an issue, consider un-installing the structure packs when creating your superflat worlds -- you can always add them back in after the world is generated. Alternatively, you can edit the templates themselves to disable their world-generation flag.
Ohh, and a good tip is to open up the main config file and DISABLE THE DEBUG SETTING. I'm not sure why I keep getting posts like this (as the default for the debug setting is FALSE), but SPAMMING THE LOG WITH DEBUG INFO WILL LAG THE GAME, PERIOD...so maybe try not enabling those settings to begin with, or turning off any that are enabled. Seriously, console logging takes 10 - 100x longer than most other operations performed in MC code, it is really terribly slow.

Other mods' power systems require you to burn stuff...mine requires that you keep them fed. (Later though, you can use the torque power system with waterwheel generators to generate infinite 'free' power...but that is way later in the tech tree, and I'm not sure if the recipes are even in the mod for that stuff yet).
it's a waste to feed them worthy food like porkchops or steak when you need 20 food for yourself.
or at least, have them consume more food, so it's reasonable to invest in fields and hunting to feed players and npcs alike.
(waste, as in, if you are running on fumes with your food supply, it's a waste to spend food on them... and if you have plenty of food from a field or a hunting ground, you have an excess supply of food, which is also a waste.... there is no balanced middle ground)
In the 1.7.2 releases, you can specify -any- item as valid food for the NPCs, as well as the amount it feeds them for (in number of ticks). Look into the NPC config file(s)...
It does this through a simple item-name lookup via the item-registry -- you will need to use the proper name for an item for it to work, this would be the same name used if given to a player via the /give command (e.g. "AncientWarfare:<item_name" or "minecraft:bread").
The item no longer need to extend item-food, as I now just manually map the food values / edible items -- too many problems with 'poison' edible items such as zombie flesh, raw chicken/etc that there was no proper way to induce the poison effect on the NPC...

something curious is that (in 1.6.4) I have MoreMeat which adds creeper meat, and I can process creeper meat, but not rotten flesh... and creeper meat has a chance of lighting you on fire or blowing you up (Ender meat is similar)
I was thinking of letting everything be 1:1, and cooked meats be 3:1 or 4:1... Orespawn's cooked bacon for instance, has instant saturation fill-up and strength effect IIRC, and when processed it yields out 32:1, I believe.
raw food still fills you up 1.5 or 2 points, so it would always be better to cook it first and then process it, but if you have plenty of food and can spare the raw food, you get a sure point of food without the poison danger.
haven't been able to duplicate that previous crash from the civics, but I did get a different crash while trying.... AFAIK, if you mess up the placing of the civic (overlapping with another civic, or including mod blocks or things like that) then it crashes.... otherwise, it works fine.

No, you can make your own templates, feel free to do so (tools are in the structures creative tab). If you make your own, you can use NPCs in them (in creative mode / world gen at least).
No, the structure packs are not available yet for 1.7 (as 1.7 release is not finished yet)
No, the NPCs from the 1.6 packs do not work when placed in the 1.7 releases. (again, 17 is not finished, nor are the structure packs)
