^ that last part was awesome, but you can do it, hell, make them able to fight and such, or remote control explosion, or able to shoot arrow or lazers, the possibilities are endless, just add whatever you can and/or want.
If this was 1.4 adding in lasers would be as Easy as ever.....

You know, there is a Marisa doll that was pretty much underutilized. Simply add lasers! Lol
Or maybe even use the base AI, and make a bunch more, like dolls of all the Touhou characters. For instance, a Cirno doll, or a flying Marisa. Actually, with a flying Marisa, I'd think one could use some the Ghast coding, make them hostile to enemy mobs, and then add lasers or magic of some sort (Minus explosions) and do that sort of thing!
Another random thought, some of the stuff you've already made would make for awesome dolls. Okuu's arm cannon has an awesome use, you could craft an Okuu doll with the arm cannon as the main ingredient, granted this would probably need nerfing for maximum cuteness/not blowing everything and everyone all to Hell.
Which would suggest the creation of some sort of controller, to prevent wanton destruction and enable precision control, like giving the gohei a secondary function where you can right click a doll to give special, individual commands! For instance with Okuu, right click her with the Gohei, bringing up the chat message "Where do you want to fire?" then right click whatever fills you with the most hate and BOOM!
Sorry, the laser suggestion got me excited.
I wish you the best of luck with Touhou Craft and updating the dolls, and I fully expect whatever you do with them to be AWESOME!

That was actually the plan. I planned on trying to make every touhou character a doll (Or at least as many as I can) Combine it with this mod's weapons and you have yourself a pure touhou mod. Anyway.....
Doll Mod is 95% complete. I just need to make sure I did one part of it correctly. Yakon(God), that one is annoying.

Ah well, there wasn't much to fix in it. It works, but hte dolls won't move/take damage and stuffles so I am sort of... stuck. For now I am just fixing. I haven't added in any custom dolls

How are you gonna do...
The komeiji's, orin, yamane, suwako and kanako, and such... characters that have no weapons, they'll need attacks and such, that's one tough job man... Some of them have weapons, but some dont and some of them don't even have an actual way of attack, such as satori, which is gonna be a bit weird... I can only wish good luck xD
I would expect things like the Sake Bowl to work as a sort of player buffing (Maybe even doll buffing) doll. Then making one with the Onigiri may help to make a chef doll, (I'm avoiding names as I can never remember all the Touhou characters) and one mob may simply pick up an enemy and drop them for fall damage or even help transport the player via flight, though that may be a bit broken if it were to happen.
Anyway, if the dolls are still not moving properly, I remember the author saying
"Dolls do not take fall damage because they are based off the chickens code so they glide when falling" so, if you wanted you could maybe try replacing their physical trait codes with the 1.3.2 code for Chickens, sans the inapplicable parts. If the pathfinding presents a problem, I remember a statement that when they are set to follow they will behave akin to the wolves with their following/teleporting behaviors. If they are dependent on those traits, then those may be the problem/s. Anyway, the wolf part I think was speculation of a fan, but the Chicken thing I think seems accurate. Especially since you mentioned they don't take damage. I saw a thing when I tried to do it called "Hardness" or somesuch, is that the trait they form when they are in Ride mode?
Lenatir, i played with that mod a while ago, and i confirm the chicken statement, the wolf part i can't however.
And btw, so your saying that dolls should wield items that can also be used by the players and each doll can have a job to it, like the little maids mod? cuz that would be the bomb!
And the last trait you mentioned, idk what they call it, but when the dolls are riding ur head, supposedly they don't take damage, if i remember correctly, but you could check it out.
As for not taking damage, it's either a bug or what Lenatir mentioned about the falling damage, which isnt a bug and, IMO, it should stay like that xD
Well, yes! I mean, in this case unlike the maids their class would remain after crafting, but to be honest I feel like this mod's major distinction between it and every other helper mod out there is that they each do ONE THING, but do it VERY well. I set up entire mining colonies by using the Russia dolls and combining them with the red (I think London?) dolls to catch everything, and if any of them even died I could just go to the Russia dolls that would pick up the fallen! I also love the way they feel, I guess deliberately limited? In terms of what each doll can do, I mean, the Russia can't help you fight, but it's extraordinary at gathering things. I kept one around in my base at all times as my personal maid, there's something special about being able to just toss whatever you want on the ground and KNOW it will be picked up. And yeah, basically items that are crafted with them could determine which doll they are, like, I was looking at Touhoucraft and saw Alice's Grimoire, which made me think... Alice makes dolls. So, if you took something of hers in making a doll, you would make a doll that MAKES DOLLS. One could in this instance give her the snowman's code of throwing snowballs, but replace snowballs with modified egg coding, which would spawn small (I guess small-ER) dolls that would charge the enemy like a mindless zombie. Then after battle they would die? Maybe? Or something like that, or if one wanted to be extra crazy with it she would have a box, much like the Russia, and in that box she would store materials, like dirt, cobblestone, diamonds, water, wood, and she would have to use these materials to make her dolls. But THAT would a be a LOT more complicated I would think.

Hardness is only determined through how hard the object they are mining is. I fixed that easily. Hardness doesn't have to do with the entity at all. More, the entity isn't completely real. No Health, no movement, just talks and can be put on your head. And no one seems to know what is wrong.

So your having problems with it huh? What is happening actually? We can help to find a solution if you need to. I want this mod so badly, i'll help in any way i can.
Basically they aren't do anything... at all. Some functions work but they can't be hurt, pushed and they don't move. I know I've had this problem before somewhere.....

Combining it with my mod, a lot of dolls will carry weapons. I probably will take a look at this code and see what is done and maybe learn from it to make more out of my dolls (maybe) So we shall see. I won't know truly until I fix and start brain storming more.

Wow ! nice mod !
Still wondering how i got here ^^'
is this based on an anime ?
Actually, it's based on Touhou, if you haven't heard of it, you absolutely should look for it. Touhou is a series of games by a man that goes by the name ZUN, ZUN independently designs all the games, and it features a VERY. VERY. VERY large cast of characters and a fan community that is simply obsessed, in a good, slightly insane manner. Look up Bad Apple for instance, then look up the Minecraft variant of it. Then contemplate how long it took. Touhou is awesome like that, and the sheer quantity of quality fanmade material that expands on the source material, a story intensive shooter that is harder than Hell and at once cuter than bunnies grinding mochi paste.
Oh I'm actually relatively new to Touhou, a friend in the Honduras got me into it. I'm not as good at the games as I would like to be, but then again neither is she. I'm more in love with the characterizations and general cute, happy feeling of it.
Relevant to the mod itself, I really hope it does do well! I worry about being overly pushy.
I am actually trying to learn to mod myself, specifically how to make an AI, and it's amazingly complicated to me
Any idea where would be best to start? I want to be of more use to people on these forums, and make a conceptual Cirno companion mod.
Oh that wouldn't be a bad thing, I'm mostly wanting to work out various items. I can't get a decent tutorial on how to make a mob, not an updated one anyway. I am convinced it should be simpler to create AI in Minecraft than it seems.
On another note, this project seems really, REALLY huge. Even by Touhou standards.
srry i posted something I didn't mean too however I have been watching this topic can't wait to see what happens. I hope you solve whatever problems you have
Ah, this is a dumb question at Ryuzaki, do you recommend any texture packs? Also, are you looking at any texture pack makers to help make a complimentary set?
Lastly, with the new update coming up, is there any way to check compatibility? The only new item of note is the anvil, and that is NOT enough reason for me to update for a LONG time, especially since there are mods that do the same thing for 1.3.2 already without switching to 1.3.whatever.
You should try one out, some are really cool, and there's this mod that give lighting like FPS's or action games too that i forget it's name that should make minecraft look gorgeous. Ryuzaki, what do you use to make models for your mod?
Ryusaki! X3
And yeah, I've seen them. I've tried out a lot of texture packs, even that one. Though the shaders mod isn't updated so it won't work for 1.3.2
