Great mod! I would use this all the time but it isn't compatible with forge. I doubt this would be able to be fixed unless the creators of forge were to add it. I checked what classes were edited in this mod and forge and the ones both mods edit are jn.class and minecraft.class. So if you know a fix for this that would be great, but if there isn't a way then just don't worry about it.
So great job and I will be watching this mod!
I'm working on making it forge compatible atm, so there will probably be an update for it today or tomorrow.

I have now rewritten the whole mod to make it into a MinecraftForge mod .
I have now rewritten the hole mod to make it into a MinecraftForge mod .
Thanks for making it Forge compatible! But... it doesn't seem to be working for me. I can see the text of that says "Entity Render Distance" and I can even change the number in it, but it doesn't do anything, animals and arrows still disappear at the default minecraft distance even when I set it to 600. Is there something I'm doing wrong?
EDIT: And yes I do have the latest version of Forge installed and also have the mod in the mods folder.

Hmm... That's weird because it worked when I tested it, do you have any other mods installed?
Wow, you are a very hardworking modder. Thanks for the Forge update you should
also have the non forge version on the page as well, so people who hate forge do not have to install it to get your precious mod to work

No problem! Though having two versions of the mod would make it so that I have to do everything twice for every update.
I installed your mod on 1.4.2.. My question: Is it correct that horizontally, entities will be rendered up to ~80 blocks? Also.. are updates still comming or are you planning to abandon this mod?
I think the render distance is a sphere around the player. And no I am not abandoning this mod, I've just been busy and not able to update.
Just curious if you have any plans to update this to 1.5.1? I realize this hasn't got too much attention, but I find it to be very useful. If not, it's all right.

Hello, thanks for asking and yes I will update this soon but at the moment I'm busy with many other things. Be patient please :).
Yo, just thought I'd let ya'll know I'm implementing effectively the same thing into a little tweak mod I have. Hoping to get this part done in about an hour or so; message me if you want a copy.
(I'm re-writing it from scratch and the distance won't be configurable any more unless that turns out to be something people really want)
EDIT:
After some tinkering, this seems to be the highest it'll go. Regardless of my setting, it won't render further than this, because that is the point in which the entity becomes unloaded. http://img.ctrlv.in/...528fe2a60b4.png
That alright for people? the cow is standing next to 3 cobble blocks, for scale. The range is around 85 blocks.
With players, it works a lot better, range is about 150. That's because players don't unload in the same way mobs do
It does NOT affect Tile Entities (eg chests). They work differently, and you don't want them rendering at range, it'll get too laggy.
Compiled post will be up in 30-45 mins, gonna do some configs for the other tweaks which are included (settings for max health, max hunger, and nameplate render range), and then I'll post it on here and PMC. It'll be called "FlenixTweaks" and will go straight in the mod section (not WIP), so keep your eyes peeled

I have the Ancient Warfare mod installed, that's the only one other than forge of course.
Ok, I'm not really sure what the problem could be then. :/
