Pirate Ships

Evil Ice Mage Tower
Hostile:
IceCreeper - A species of creeper which spawns rarely in the Arctic, in all biomes. It shoots ice shards at you, as well as blowing up, but its explosions don't do much damage. ()
Pirate - Sails the Arctic seas in Pirate ships; don't get too close, they have weapons! () Evil Ice Mage - The opposite of the ice mage, spawns in towers and aims to destroy you with its staff (Removed) King Frost Zombie - A boss in the arctic found in a dungeon, Kill it before it kills you! (Removed) King IceCreeper - Will explode to kill you but won't die itself, a very formidable boss (Removed)
Neutral:
Polar Bear - They attack in groups ()
Husky - Can be tamed, acts like a wolf but with more advantages. Will attack in a group if hit. ( un-tamed, tamed)
Peaceful:
Whale - It spawns in the vast Arctic Oceans. It drops many fish and whale blubber. () (that's a whole 100 hearts!)
Penguin - It's a penguin ()
Boar - Drops Boar Meat, equivalent of a pig. It is passive. Boars spawn in the Arctic Plains and Forest. ()
You should add ice elementials that freeze your character in place, fish-people that launch spears, seashells that can be crafted into shields and spears. You could also make arcanist staffs that freeze mobs using the frost plank's sticks and arcanestone. You could also make an imbuer that freezes your armor into ice armor and tools. Also you should make like whales that drop oil to make lamps with iron ingots, penguins that drop feathers and raw fish, snowshoes crafted with frost planks string and regular planks, cold-water reefs with fish, crabs, and shrimp which can be caught for food, and glacier ice that can be pushed and slows you down unless you wear snowshoes on it. You can also make a way to legitmitely obtain ice in-game. Ohh, and like the Nether you can't bring lava in or light things on fire
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Hell, I've fought Others, Dragons, Old Gods, Sha, Liches, Titans, Creepers, Ura, and Tallbirds, bring it on!

Wow! That's a lot of ideas! We may well have to ask you to join the team with so many good ideas! We will take all of them into account and see if they are possible. Thanks!
I do realize that this is still a work in progress, but I'd like to toss in a few suggestions if you don't mind. ^^;
- Keep the pirate ships on the normal world. Pirate ships are more for tropical seas, out in the middle of the ocean, or docked at the shore of an island chock-full of treasure. If I were to install this mod completely blindly, I would get really confused seeing a pirate ship in an arctic-themed dimension.
- Add in a lot of aquatic features. I think Soulflayer offered quite a few suggestions in that area. (I really like the penguins and the coral idea) Minecraft is severely lacking aquatic features right now, and I think things like coral and aquatic mobs are really really cool.
- I want to craft ice! I want to be able to create neat ice armor or a cool looking ice pickaxe to plow through glaciers with ease! Even add in a cool dynamic where if they are too warm then the tools start losing uses to create the sense of "melting."
- Along with Huge mountains, add in glaciers, ice caps, and I would suggest looking into expanding on the winter biome in the normal world.
- Igloos are cool. Igloo villages are sweet. Underwater Cities are . Make sure you spend a lot of time on the NPCs for these things. I'll be looking forward to making some Eskimo buddies when I download this mod! ^^;
- Beef up the non-aquatic features. I like the idea of having NPCs and the new creeper is cool. This "marish" idea sounds very awesome, try expanding towards similar mobs such as ice spiders and things of that nature.
- Similar to the way poisoning works with cave spiders, I'd like to see a frostbite effect implemented. If you stay in the cold for too long without protection, you start to slow down, lose hunger, and eventually health which ultimately leads to death (taking game difficulty into account, peaceful would probably leave the player with so many hearts left or something of that sort)
- "Arcticraft" is a bit of a cheesy name, but that's just me.
- Please don't forget about clocks and compasses, I need my compass to point back to my portal! (That's really up to you guys, but I find that the compass and clock are often left in the dark with these types of mods)
- If it's within reason, try to get beds working in the dimension. Idk if it's still impossible, but it's just a thought.
- Invest in new mob sounds. There's nothing weirder than seeing a penguin making chicken noises.
- The realm needs more intrinsic items. Ice and snow are already commonplace in the vanilla minecraft and the few intrinsic items you have already aren't quite enough. I'd suggest looking into crystalline themed blocks, permafrost, and perhaps even a machine to freeze things such as water or foods in. Maybe even add in a refrigerator and freezer and of course the melting/defrosting method of choice would be to use a furnace. But that introduces a possible new method of making obsidian: place lava buckets in the freezer and you get some obsidian after some time or whatever. Have fun with it, this theme has tons of new opportunities that are just waiting to be exploited.
Godspeed to you guys with this mod! I'll be looking forward to it when the first release is out. ^^;

I've gotta say, there are a lot of great ideas in this post! I definitely agree with the aquatic features, and the compass pointing towards the portal is a very good idea aswell. I just hate it when you get lost in the nether! I also love the freezer. However, I am not sure about the clock, as I believe in the Arctic dimension it shall always be nighttime, so I am afraid that the clock cannot really be utilised. Sorry.
Either way, you have so many great ideas that I couldn't even mention them all! If we use these idas, we will probably have to credit you greatly for a big aspect of the mod!
Update: Apparently, TimerClock14, apparently there will already be a freezer in the mod, however water to ice and lave to obsidian is still a very good idea so we may implement that too.

It will generate more like an ice biome in the overworld, I believe. However, I am not the coder, so I am not sure.

What would you like pictures of? The actual dimension is not yet done so we cannot put pictures of that yet.
