Why do they have to re-obscure the code every time they update? It's not like they're going to stop people from making hacked clients, or anything. It really just puts stress on the modding community by us having to wait for someone to re-patch the mods every time Jeb decides to add a new block.

What makes you think I was ever being reasonable? I'm sitting here with a pile of guns while wearing a flamethrower, and you thought that, at some point, I was being reasonable?

Efficiency; for example scraping the portal/teleport code supposedly reduced lag from nether portals

It's for copyright reasons. There are some countries where if your code isn't protected somehow, it's not considered copyrighted. No one believes obfuscation actually stops copying or modding or whatnot, and Mojang has had a very pro-modding policy for quite some time (which is why they have prereleases for vanilla - to allow the modders to update and work around the new obfuscation).
I know when I worked at the Rubbermaid factory, any coolers we produced going to Saudi Arabia had to have little plastic rings installed that a lock could be put through. It was explained to me that if you didn't put a lock on your cooler, it wasn't illegal for anyone to come along and drink all your soda.
Will the Infernal Furnace be able to do things like turn nether-rack to nether-brick or turn metal tools back in to ingot form?
Also have you thought about adding a block or way to disenchant tools or armor?

Don't know if these have been mentioned, but I have a small but cool idea. It would be really great to be able to place magical plants and maybe even crystals (if they make a return ) in flower pots.

Maybe even have crystals grow slightly faster in pots?

Ladies and gentlemen, Hell has frozen over, and Satan is putting on ice skating shows for charity.
Should add salt, and use it to grow crystals in the new furnace. Just fuse the salt into a block with some sort of responsive element for the specific crystal, and throw it in the furnace with one of the crystals and an enchanter to get some more crystals. Like, it forms a plantable/ down-craftable crystal cluster.

What about hexing/witchery cults. Also wizard towers, Summoning rituals, what about lucid dreaming? Like going to a special bed, then you start doing stuff in your dreams? Would be awesome. Illusions and new RUINS. Ruins which may contain ancient wallwritings! Then maybe a book to collect them. You may find different parts of stories to collect and when they are complete, you discover something? Also i liked the thelescope stuff in the previous comment. Magic cosmology. Gief us!
I just had an idea sort of based off of the mob in a jar ideas earlier. Basically you can craft a blank mob spawner. You then feed it different aspects (a life aspect and a movement aspect are required for all mobs that are alive and move respectively) and the spawner will start spawning these mobs. An extension to this could be some sort of summoning circle, that when fed the proper aspects and sacrifices a powerful creature/demon/other worldly being would be spawned in.
Also I am going to repeat an idea I had previously that received a couple positive responses. Arcane canon. Like an arcane bore, only it shoots magical projectiles instead of mining for a certain distance and width.

I was going to make a witty and awesome signature but I feel kind of lazy, maybe another day.
Just had an idea about how people are saying that there should be something to do in "dreaming" maybe its when you go to sleep in a special bed or after drinking something you go into a "ghost" form. Kind of like entering another world but its just the normal world with different spawns. You can fight certain monsters depending on the vis or taint in the area, and destroying them removes that kind of influence. If you kill enough of one another can start to move in or something. Or its the only way to find information in dungeons, a normal version and a dream one, where you can find higher level items, and since its the regular world you won't have to remake a dungeon but just change the type of spawns in that area.
I realize that this may be somewhat annoying to code, but its an idea that you may get something out of.

oh god is anazor adds an API. MOTHER OF GOD.
Yes, there will be an API for TC3, according to Azanor.

When I say nearly, I mean nearly. I don't see any simplified characters around where I live, either.
I wish there was a downvote option on MCf.
